Chart 1: Race for all suspects in response to resistance above compliant handcuffing

The racial breakdown for use-of-force incidents reported for the 4th quarter of 2015 is: 80% Caucasian; 12% African-American; 3% Asian; 3% Hispanic; and 1% Native American.


Chart 2: 2015 Q4 response to resistance (Use of Force)

The breakdown for the method of force reported for the 4th quarter of 2015 is: 64% no weapon used (may include holds, strikes, pressure points, etc.); 19% firearm drawn; 11% MDWN (Medical Direction Weaponless, which is force used at the direction of a medical professional to control a resistive patient for medical purposes); 6% ECD (electronic control device, or taser. Includes incidents of ECD being drawn but not fired).


CHart 3: 2015 Q4 response to resistance aove compliant handcuffing by time of day

The breakdown for the time of day in which use-of-force incidents were reported for the 4th quarter of 2015 is: 50% between 6 pm and midnight; 25% between midnight and 6 am; 6% between 6 am and noon; and 19% between noon and 6 pm.
