Note: not all Medical Directed response to resistance involves a custodial arrest.  Medical Directed responses makes up approximately one-third of all response to resistance incidents this quarter.

The racial breakdown for use-of-force incidents reported for the 1st quarter of 2016 is: 75% Caucasian; 20% Black; 5% Native American.


The breakdown for the method of force reported for the 1st quarter of 2016 is: 45% no weapon used (may include holds, strikes, pressure points, etc.); 5% firearm drawn; 35% Medical Direction Weaponless (force used at the direction of a medical professional to control a resistive patient for medical purposes); 10% Taser Drawn (Taser drawn but not fired); 5% Taser Deployed.


The breakdown for the time of day in which use-of-force incidents were reported for the 1st quarter of 2016 is: 30% between 6 pm and midnight; 40% between midnight and 6 am; 30% between noon and 6 pm.
