MPD Investigates Armed Robbery on Lathrop Street

On Saturday, October 5, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 19-year-old male was walking in the Lathrop Street area just north of Hoyt Street, when he was approached by a man who pointed a handgun at him and demanded his belongings. The victim emptied his pockets and ran from the area. The victim was not injured. The suspect took the victim’s cell phone and fled prior to police arrival.
The suspect is described as a male, black, 20’s, thin build, approximately 6’0”, 150lbs, and last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt.

Never resist giving up your property when you’re confronted by an individual with a weapon. In addition, don’t walk alone or in small groups when traveling through less populated areas.
