Fire Departments, UWPD Respond to Fire at Arlington Agricultural Research Station

On Sunday, June 26, 2022 at around 4:00pm, fire crews from the DeForest Fire Department responded to the Arlington Agricultural Research Station (N965 Hopkins Road, Arlington), for a report of a barn on fire. Multiple other local fire departments also quickly arrived to assist. The Arlington Research station is located just north of the Dane County line off Highway 51 and is operated by the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Fire crews worked for about an hour to get the fire under control, which was contained to one large structure. Firefighters continue to battle flare-ups. The structure housed farming equipment and hay. No people or animals were injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It’s unknown the total dollar amount lost. The fire remains under investigation by the UW-Madison Police Department.
