  • Incident type: Multiple Offenses
  • Location/address: Lot 46 & N. Frances Street

On Thursday, October 20, 2022 at approximately 1:25 p.m., UWPD officers responded to Lot 46 (Southeast Campus Ramp on Lake Street) for a report of a suspicious person looking into vehicles. The subject – later identified as Walker C. Morledge, 23, Madison – left the scene before officers arrived.

UWPD officers tracked Morledge to a restaurant a block away, on Frances Street, and attempted to make contact. When Morledge exited the restaurant with officers, he became combative and was resisting. After struggling with Morledge for several minutes and offering multiple warnings to stop resisting, a Taser was deployed to gain control of the suspect. Morledge was handcuffed but continued to struggle with officers for several more minutes. He was eventually taken into custody.

Morledge was booked into the Dane County Jail for a probation violation, outstanding warrants, and resisting.
