Suspect Arrested Following Alleged Road Rage Incident

On Thursday, June 15, 2023 at approximately 2:15pm, the UW-Madison Police Department received a 911 call from a motorist who reported that someone in another vehicle had pointed a gun at them and their passenger in what appeared to be an act of road rage. UWPD officers responded to Highland Avenue, north of Overlook Terrace, and were able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle. All four lanes of Highland Avenue were shut down for a short period time.

UWPD officers had their firearms drawn for protection as the suspect, Victoria Kennedy, 57, of Madison, complied with instructions and exited the vehicle. She was taken into custody without incident. A gun was found in Kennedy’s vehicle glove compartment.

Kennedy was booked into the Dane County on two felony counts of disorderly conduct while armed and two counts of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon. She was also cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license.
