  • Case number: 22-00862
  • Incident date: June 16, 2022, 1:30 am
  • Incident type: Multiple Offenses
  • Location/address: East Gorham Street and Pinckney Street

On Thursday, June 16 at around 1:30 a.m., a UWPD officer attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of East Gorham Street and Pinckney Street. During the stop, the driver backed their vehicle into the UWPD squad and struck several other vehicles. There were no injuries in the crash.

Once it was confirmed there were no injuries, the officer continued the traffic stop. Due to the driver’s behavior and the odor of intoxicants, the officer determined field sobriety tests were appropriate. The driver, Aurora C. Eggers, 30, Madison, became agitated and started fighting with our officer. Several other UWPD officers responded to assist – Madison Police and Capitol Police officers also responded.

As officers were detaining the driver, the passenger, Julia Krieger, 26, Madison, exited the vehicle and started fighting with officers. A UWPD officer deployed a taser, which subsequently allowed us to successfully detain the passenger.

One UWPD officer sustained minor injuries to her leg — she was taken to the hospital to be checked as a precaution.

The driver, Eggers, was arrested/cited for first offense OWI, felony resisting causing injury, illegal U-turn, unsafe backing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Krieger, was arrested for resisting.

UWPD would like to thank the City of Madison Police Department and the Capitol Police Department for their assistance with this case.
