UW-Madison Police Officer Inured in Traffic Crash

At approximately 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a UW-Madison Police officer was injured in a traffic crash. The officer, on a motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on Regent Street – he was his way to pick up the Tennessee Tech football team, to escort them to Camp Randall Stadium. The officer was stuck by a SUV, traveling northbound on Charter Street.

The officer involved flew over the handlebars of the motorcycle, and struck his head when he hit the road. He was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries to his right side – he was released, and is doing well. His helmet saved his life, and prevented serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was cited by Madison Police.
