Bascom Hall - 500 Lincoln Drive - Madison, WI 53706
At 6 p.m. on April 26th, 2019, officers from the UW-Madison Police Department responded to Bascom Hall to escort UW-Madison graduate students out of the building at the close of normal building hours.
The students had occupied the office of the Dean of the Graduate School following a meeting with university administrators earlier in the afternoon.
Officers arrived on scene and engaged with the students, who advised they were going to remain in the building past closing hours. The students were given several warnings before the assembly was declared unlawful, per UW System policy. The officers escorted 16 students, who remained cooperative and peaceful, out of the building and released them without incident.
