The UWPD Support Services division is made up of a wide range of specialized professionals who work together to provide essential services, ensuring UWPD remains operational and highly effective at all times. We are committed to providing high-quality support services to all UWPD units, individual employees, campus community members, and the public. Support Services Units

Finance

The UWPD Finance Team plays a critical role in supporting the department’s daily operations and long-term strategic goals through responsible fiscal management and oversight. From budgeting and purchasing to payroll and financial reporting, the team works to ensure resources are managed efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with university and state policies. By maintaining strong financial stewardship and supporting operational needs across the department, the Finance Team helps ensure that UWPD can continue to deliver high-quality public safety services to the campus community.

Human Resources

The UWPD HR Team supports the department’s most important resource — our people. From recruitment and hiring to onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and professional development, the team works to foster a supportive and inclusive workplace environment where employees can thrive. HR is committed to helping attract, develop, and retain highly qualified professionals while supporting the overall well-being, growth, and success of UWPD employees throughout their careers.

Information Technology

The UWPD IT unit provides the technological infrastructure and support necessary to keep the department connected, secure, and operational around the clock. From maintaining critical systems and equipment to supporting cybersecurity, communications platforms, software applications, and emerging technologies, the team works behind the scenes to ensure employees have reliable tools and resources to serve the campus community effectively. The IT  unit is committed to innovation, accessibility, and continuous improvement in support of UWPD’s mission.

Wellness

The UWPD Wellness program is dedicated to supporting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our employees. Recognizing the unique challenges that come with working in public safety, we promote a culture where wellness, resilience, and peer support are prioritized. Through training, resources, outreach, and wellness-focused initiatives, UWPD strives to ensure employees have access to the support they need both on and off the job, helping them maintain healthy, balanced, and sustainable careers.
