Daily Blotter for April 18th 2024
- 7:51 am, Disorderly Conduct, Waisman Center. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for disorderly conduct after it was reported they grabbed the person by their clothing and backpack before shaking them and attempting to take their cell phone.
- 11:47 am, Lost Property, Eagle Heights. Contacted person who reported the loss of their keys "somewhere on campus".
- 12:00 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Engineering Hall. Additional notes from previous case where person reported almost being punched by male occupant of another vehicle. Cameras in the area reviewed with safety tips to person to prevent future issues.
- 12:10 pm, Theft/Larceny, Chamberlain Hall. Contacted person for theft of their Yoga black (Version 5 or 7) was taken from the 4th floor study hall of Chamberlin.
- 11:32 pm, Found Property, Babcock Hall. Found property for was turned in to UWPD.
- 3:13 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person after their former partner called concerned about the other persons mental health.

- 9:39 am, Theft/Larceny, Grainger Hall. Contacted person reporting their electric scooter was stolen.
- 11:40 am, Burglary, Vilas Hall. Contacted persons after they reported an unidentified person had taken their purse from their unlocked office while they were not present.
- 12:30 pm, Theft/Larceny, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted person who reported a set of allen wrenches stolen from a maintenance cart in Bakke lobby at 10:46 a.m. 4/16/24.
- 12:49 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding receipt of a threatening email.
- 2:44 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 17. Contacted person after Transportation Services reported a UW affiliated truck struck the north exit gate arm.
- 4:05 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Highland Ave & Overlook. Transported person to Detox.
- 4:06 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Provided a ride for from location after they requested assistance due to having mental health issues.
- 12:00 am, Other, Regent St. & East Campus Mall. Traffic Stop/Liquor Law False ID - Stopped/verbal warning to person for unreasonable/imprudent speeds and possession of fake ID.

- 7:36 am, Graffiti, Memorial Library. Contacted person who report 5 chairs with "Free Free Palestine" on cushions in ink was located in room 779.
- 2:02 pm, Theft/Larceny, MSC. Contacted person who reported their backpack stolen from the MSC (room 1385) on 4.15.2024 between 110-140p.
- 6:30 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Near West Fields. Contacted person who injured their knee while playing soccer. Person refused PD or MFR transport and released to friends to transport to local ER.
- 9:47 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Humanities Building. Contacted/Detained person who had active Probable Cause warrant from MPD regarding an incident that occurred earlier on East Campus Mall. Person released to MPD without incident.

- 11:20 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person who was located passed out near loading dock outside Hamel, MFR transported, no police assistance needed.
- 5:14 pm, Information, W. Johnson St & Wisconsin Ave. Contact made with vehicle displaying stolen/missing plates. Registered Owner failed to report to MPD plates recovered.
- 10:26 pm, Criminal Damage, Tripp Hall. Contacted person regarding discharged fire extinguisher in men's bathroom on 4th floor, room 413. Reported at 10:15 pm on 04/14/24.
- 1:00 am, Check Person, MSC. UW Security contacted person during building checks.

- 8:02 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University & Highland Aves. Assisted SHPD regarding person found in middle of roadway.
- 8:27 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Placed into protective custody person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 12:53 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Residence Hall. Cited person after Housefellows found them in hallway vomiting.
- 2:54 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Served Warrant, OWI Citation, IFA form to person in medical care at local hospital on behalf of Dodge County.

- 10:33 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Residence Hall. MFR transporting one to a local hospital, no need for police assistance.
- 11:49 am, Damage to Property, Gordon Commons. Contacted person who reported damage to a swinging door in the Gordon Commons loading dock area causing it to separate from the wall.
- 12:32 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Nicholas Recreation Center. MFR transported to local hospital after injury playing basketball.
- 12:02 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Residence Hall. Cited person for UAL 1st.
- 2:16 am, Other, W. Washington Ave & S. Park St. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released person for OWI and cited for operating without headlights.

- 8:41 am, Damage to Property, Lot 46. Contacted person who was reporting damage in elevator #2 in Lot 46 where a spring was damaged to keep the elevator car opened.
- 10:26 am, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted person who reported another person violated a TRO at local hospital, but determined no TRO violation at this time.
- 2:53 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Request For Assistance - Contacted by Hospital Security regarding visitor who was making political statements in the hospital and made a derogatory statement about a staff member's weight.
- 4:01 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted persons regarding a two-vehicle crash.
- 4:08 pm, Found Property, Gordon Commons. Pulled in error by Dispatch.
- 4:09 pm, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Spoke to person regarding a harassing voice mail he received on their personal cell phone.

- 2:04 am, Criminal Damage, Witte Hall. Cited persons for bypassing security device, vandalism, and UAL 1st after finding a damaged emergency exit sign on the 9th floor.
- 6:36 am, Other, Natural Lot/Arboretum. Contacted/Cited person for Reasonable and Prudent limit (failure to keep vehicle under control) and Failure of Operator to Notify Police of Accident and verbally warned for Prohibited Dumping and Vehicle Abandonment Prohibited after someone reported finding the vehicle off the roadway and in the marsh.
- 12:05 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Attempted to locate person after UHS Behavioral Health staff reported they were going through a mental health crisis.
- 4:12 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 36. Contacted person who was involved in a crash with a Metro Bus.
- 5:42 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 36. Contacted person who wanted to report that they backed their truck into the back of another vehicle.
- 7:37 pm, Theft/Larceny, Red Gym. Contacted person who reported a theft of their Macbook Air stolen from a table in the courtyard between the Red Gym and Pyle Center.

- 6:35 am, Other, Lot 7/Grainger Hall Parking Garage. Camping - Contacted/Cited/Released person for picnicking and camping after they were reported and found sleeping using their bag as a pillow in the Brooks Street stairwell.
- 10:46 am, Harassment, UWPD. Contact made with person who sent numerous harassing and threatening text messages from a local phone number. A Stalking Warning Letter was issued and person agreed they would cease further contact.
- 11:29 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Local Hospital. Transported person to Detox after being contacted in local hospital Emergency Room at request of staff due to level of intoxication.
- 2:43 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Contacted person who reported their E-Bike had been stolen over spring break.
- 2:50 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Bakke Recreation Center. Person transported by MFR to local hospital for medical issue.
- 11:06 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Big Bluestem Pkwy/Blazingstar Ln. Assisted Fitchburg PD with a drone request regarding a strong arm robbery.
- 2:04 am, Criminal Damage, Witte Hall. Attempted contact with persons after finding a damaged emergency exit sign on the 9th floor. Cameras had both suspects damaging the sign and attempting to cover up the camera. Follow up and interviews to be conducted with both suspects.
