Daily Blotter for April 23rd 2026
- 12:04 pm, Theft/Larceny, Birge Hall. Contacted person regarding theft of their e-scooter that was rented through Tulu and stolen from the building, after further review, the building manager reviewed scooter from the building and person received it back, no further police assistance needed.
- 3:59 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFD transported person to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 5:42 pm, Drug Violation, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted person after another person turned items containing drug paraphernalia, contents disposed of at UWPD, no owner located.
- 8:44 pm, Other, Lot 7. Human waste left by person of interest after camera review, citation to be issued upon next contact.
- 2:32 am, Check Person, Humanities Building. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for DOC Warrant after being contacted and verbally warned for UW camping, property placed into safekeeping.

- 7:49 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 6. Contacted person who relayed that the gate arm was driven into causing disabling damage when they spoke with the driver when they drove through the gate system.
- 9:47 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after bike crash, refused MFR transport, UWPD transported to residence.
- 10:06 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Sellery Hall. Contacted person after their vehicle was backed into in the Amazon parking area at Sellery Hall, suspect and RO exchanged information but left scene before our arrival for citations to be issued, investigation ongoing while attempting to contact suspect RO.
- 11:30 am, Other, UWPD. Contacted person regarding lost folder around residence hall that contained important personal documents.
- 12:38 pm, Graffiti, Wendt Library. Contacted person reporting graffiti.
- 1:12 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 76. Contacted persons regarding automobile accident that occurred in Lot 76 parking ramp.
- 1:14 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Request from outside agency to review cameras regarding fraud case.
- 6:26 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 7:36 pm, Eluding, Lot 60. Attempted to stop two motorcycles after observing them with no plates traveling westbound Observatory from Easterday, no pursuit, follow up to be conducted.
- 11:28 pm, Other, Red Gym. Searched scaffolding and area for 3 unknown suspects possibly inside the construction.

- 10:39 am, Theft/Larceny, Eagle Heights. Contacted person regarding a package that had been delivered but was missing.
- 11:33 am, Other, N. Charter Street. Request For Assistance - Contacted person regarding an email from a former employee and concerns about attending appointments on campus.
- 12:02 pm, Theft/Larceny, Noland Hall. Contacted by phone person who reported their laptop stolen from Noland Hall.
- 12:50 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 45. Contacted persons regarding MVA they were involved in at the intersection of W. Dayton St and N. Mills St. Both parties ok, exchanged information, report written.
- 5:45 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Nakoma Golf Club. Assisted outside agency with a burglary at the Nakoma Golf Course Maintenance shed. Located one suspect, short foot pursuit ensued, suspect arrested for Burglary, resisting, and theft. Arboretum searched for suspects, not located, arrest turned over to outside agency for report.
- 7:19 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted unidentified person with cameras and tripod in parking lot after they were observed taking photos of research facilities of concern.
- 8:35 pm, Warrant Served, N. Orchard St. & Capitol Court. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for DOC warrant and PWID THC during traffic stop for failure to obey sign (wrong way on one way), PWID charge dropped, DOC charges remain active in jail.
- 9:38 pm, Graffiti, Lot 46. Transportation Services reported graffiti on the door of the 5th level SE stairwell.
- 10:18 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Attempted to contact person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 1:45 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Gilman & State Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Failure to Obey Traffic Sign (DO NOT ENTER), Operating While Impaired (1st), and Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, vehicle released to sober driver/passenger and who drove vehicle away.
- 3:23 am, Other, N. Park Street. Unauthorized Presence - Contacted/Cited/Released person for Unauthorized Camping in the parking garage stairwell, after they were observed to be sleeping by UWPD Security.
Daily Blotter for April 20th 2026
- 8:41 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 75. UPDATED from previous day - Contacted dispatcher who reported a vehicle piggybacking out of lot 75 on three occasions this month, investigation ongoing.
- 5:20 am, Other, Local Hospital. UPDATED from previous day - Towed vehicle after they had been observed moving the vehicle into a handicap parking space before exiting the vehicle with four open containers of alcohol and being reported as appearing intoxicated. Person detained after trying to interfere in towing of vehicle, parties transported to local hotel after being discharged from local hospital.
- 1:49 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 75. Contacted person regarding their vehicle being hit while in parking lot 75. Investigation ongoing.
- 3:39 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Found Purse turned into UWPD dispatched. Attempted to make contact with both individuals, but was unable to reach either. Property submitted into safekeeping.
- 4:57 pm, Damage to Property, Babcock Hall. Contacted person after UW Security noticed them legally parked vehicle struck by a downed tree. Owner inspected vehicle, case number provided to RO, email sent to Risk Management for claim to be filed by RO if needed, Grounds contacted to assist with removal of tree from vehicle, Arborist evaluated tree structure and mitigated risk of tree.
- 11:50 pm, Other, Lot 101. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for Stopping, Standing, Parking Prohibited, Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited in Parking Spaces Reserved for Vehicles Displaying Special Registration Plates or Special Identification Cards, and Operating While Suspended. Verbally Warned passenger for Possess Open Intoxicant in MV.
- 2:32 am, Damage to Property, Lot 6. Contacted person regarding damage to their vehicle parked in the lot and noticed damage when they returned to the vehicle later that day. Video footage pulled, damage done prior to entry, information sent to RO, report pulled in error.

- 3:32 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 4:01 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Reports pulled for possession of burglarious tools.
- 4:58 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Frances & Dayton Streets. Person at stop sign struck by vehicle, refused MFR transport, POV transport.
- 5:57 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical emergency, no police assistance.
- 1:44 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent & Brooks Streets. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, violating red traffic signal, operating with suspended registration, and improper right turn.
- 3:20 am, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted persons who reported one person had stolen their order from the restaurant after it had been delivered to their residence. Person will be cited for UW Theft Under $100 if they do not follow through with sending other party money for reimbursement through Venmo.
- 3:27 am, Drug Violation, Regent Street & East Campus Mall. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for speed, odor of MJ & in plain view, verbally warned for possession of THC, released without incident.
- 5:20 am, Other, Local Hospital. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.

- 10:20 am, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted UW-Security regarding someone potentially taking photos of facility that could be irregular “behavior”, investigation ongoing.
- 11:20 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Highland Ave. Contacted person whose vehicle was struck by another causing extensive damage, RO information exchanged between parties, one party will be issued citation for operating without insurance.
- 2:55 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lowell Center. Contacted person regarding theft of their bike stolen from outside the Lowell Center.
- 6:03 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Assisted outside agency with person experiencing mental health crisis at local hospital.
- 6:28 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital due to incapacitation from alcohol, will be cited for UAL 1st (state) and Verbally Warned for possessing false ID (confiscated/destroyed) during contact.
- 10:55 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Stopped/Cited persons for UAL 1st after observing them urinating on the building. Verbally Warned for UW Depositing Human Waste.
- 11:07 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 12:25 am, Operating While Intoxicated, N. Charter & Regent Streets. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for OWI 2nd, driving wrong way down a one-way, open intoxicant in a MV, abuse of hazardous substance, and possession of ketamine.
- 12:48 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited person for UAL after they were found in the bathroom, intoxicated not incapacitated.
- 1:07 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Person placed into protective custody due to incapacitation due to alcohol, cited for UAL 1st.
- 2:56 am, Check Person, Brittingham House. During check of property, the East driveway to Brittingham House, off of S. Highlands Ave., was found to be partially blocked by a tree that had likely been struck by lightning.

- 3:10 pm, Threat Assessment, UWPD. Contacted person regarding messages that are from outside the area, not necessarily threatening at this time.
- 5:02 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.
- 9:48 pm, Check Person, Fluno Center. Cited person for unauthorized presence after they were told to leave the Fluno Center but refused, detained, released with citations.
- 10:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person after they reported their bike was stolen from the north side of the Union.
- 11:00 pm, Found Property, Psychology Building. Packaged headphones located in the Psychology Building, information sent to owner to call to retrieve.
- 11:24 pm, Other, Park & Chandler. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Cited driver for operating while revoked and failure to install IID, passenger drove vehicle away from stop.
- 12:18 am, Drug Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Possession of THC (County).
- 1:25 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Alumni Park. Contacted/Cited persons for UAL 1st after observing them with open containers of alcohol. Verbally warned one for UW Obstructing after initially identifying themselves as another person prior to admitting who they were.
- 1:50 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Marion & W. Johnson Streets. Stopped/Cited person for UAL 1st (Muni) after observing them urinating on a tree, verbally warned for Depositing Human Waste (Muni) and Possession of False ID, confiscated/destroyed during contact.
- 2:25 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent & N. Charter Streets. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for OWI 1st, Possession of THC, Possess open intoxicants in MV, unsafe lane deviation and non-registration of auto.

- 3:24 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 3:40 pm, Other, Local Hospital. DOC escort, no issues.
- 10:57 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, Broom St. & W. Washington Ave. Traffic Stop - Arrested/Cited driver for OWI 1st, PAC 1st and Driving Against Traffic (one-way) vehicle was sitting at light facing wrong way on N Broom St.

- 4:33 pm, Other, UWPD. Contacted person regarding lost property at HC White earlier this year.
- 1:30 am, Other, Monroe & Pickford. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for speeding and a separate instance of unreasonable and imprudent speed.
- 2:07 am, Warrant Served, Lot 80. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for active DOC warrant after contacting him for sleeping in a stairwell, cited for unauthorized possession of alcohol on UW lands.

- 8:39 am, Graffiti, Near West Fields. Located graffiti, spray painted in black on the red players bench and on the concrete sidewalk below the bench.
- 10:36 am, Criminal Damage, Van Hise Hall. Contacted person regarding stairwell latch bent and pry marks on the door.
- 10:49 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.
- 12:24 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person due to trouble with door latch causing the alarm to go off.
- 2:42 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Assisted person who we transported earlier to local hospital with ride home.
- 3:19 pm, Information, Vilas Hall. Contacted person who reported their Segway stolen, but may have located it on their Facebook marketplace.
- 3:42 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 29/21 N. Park Street. Located door that was damage, door leads from the East elevator lobby on the second floor to the parking ramp of lot 29.
- 5:31 pm, Theft/Larceny, Educational Sciences. Contacted person after they reported their e-scooter stolen from the bike racks.
- 12:19 am, Eluding, University Ave. & Charter Street. Attempted to stop two motorcycles after observing no license plates and the two driving at a high rate of speed. Activated lights and sirens. Motorcycles eluded me and ran multiple red lights. Did not pursue.
- 1:19 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State Street. Assisted outside agency with arresting person for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after they smashed glass and damaged property inside NafNaf. Outside agency took PC and investigation. UWPD transported to Dane County Jail where person refused med clear, we transported to local hospital for detox where they were released on outside agency citations, we issued citations for municipal fake ID and UAL 1st, returned to Dane County Jail upon med clear.
- 12:26 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Requested to assist outside agency with legal blood draw on patient transported from another hospital outside of county due to MVA.
