- 2:56 pm, Theft/Larceny, Regent Street. UPDATE: Suspects identified via phone, plan to arrest Contacted person who reported their black RunnerX e-bike stolen.
- 3:10 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted local hospital in placing the Emergency Department in red status due to a gun shot victim being transported to the ED.
- 3:32 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person for a welfare check.
- 4:18 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Due to priority incident at local hospital, did not have staff to respond to alarm.
- 7:37 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person who reported an individual taking and concealing an item from the Badger Market in the Memorial Union with out paying.
- 8:09 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Contacted person outside of the Memorial Union after they requested to speak regarding coping concerns.

- 11:09 pm, Check Person, State & Lake Streets. Contacted/Cited suspect for UW Code Possession of Alcohol on UW Lands.

- 9:00 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Contacted MPD regarding potential emergency detention at local hospital.
- 9:09 am, Check Person, WID. Contacted person for sleeping in the WID.
- 1:51 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Computer Science. Person reported another person was living in the building.
- 7:18 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Union South. Arrested/Cited/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for trespass-remain after notice after he entered the building twice contrary to his ban and explicit officer instructions from earlier in the day.

- 7:13 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Provided UW milestone footage and UWPD body cam footage to MPD reference MPD case.
- 7:35 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Request from MPD to review UW milestone cameras reference MPD case.
- 7:47 am, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person in local hospital.
- 9:01 am, Damage to Property, Lot 17. Contacted caller reference their truck being damaged in lot 17.
- 9:02 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Location Redacted. Contacted person for an accident that occurred in company vehicle which was struck by another person near the hospital loading dock on July 11 between 08:50 and 09:00.
- 9:31 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Made contact with person who said staff accidentally set off alarm, and that there were no issues.
- 3:14 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person reference forced door alarm for main entry door.
- 4:58 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Observatory Dr & Park St.. Received a call from dispatch about a two vehicle collision at Observatory and Park Street.
- 5:15 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Area/door checked, no persons seen inside.
- 5:45 pm, Information, UWPD. Contacted person who provided their personal information (social security number, address, etc.) to scammers via telephone.
- 6:04 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. No staff working at desk and none of the alarms were depressed.
- 6:05 pm, Damage to Property, Water Sciences. Building Manager reported flooding throughout the building that originated from a vent hood on the second floor.
- 7:11 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Eagle Heights. Contacted persons for a report of a person trying to enter their apartment.
- 11:59 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Washington Ave & Regent St.. Arrested/Cited/Released to Responsible party suspect for OWI 1st offense. Stopped/cited for unreasonable/imprudent speed .
- 1:46 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Responded out with SHPD and MPD after suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill themselves.

- 7:23 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Checked area. No suspicious activity.
- 9:29 am, Criminal Damage, Humanities Building. Contacted person regarding damage to property in Humanities.
- 10:58 am, Found Property, Humanities Building. Found property abandoned outside a room in Humanities.
- 1:46 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted one of the building managers, and checked inside cash room. Confirmed no unauthorized persons inside, just left door open too long.
- 2:00 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to local hospital for pain.
- 2:49 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Field House. Contacted person regarding an elderly person who was injured outside the Field House.
- 3:18 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Responded to first floor reception area for panic alarm. Staff advised it was accidental, no emergencies.

- 9:57 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, S. Park Street & Braxton Place. Contacted/Arrested/Cited/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 1st, cited for operating with suspended registration (reason for stop).

- 2:51 am, Information, Lot 46. Contacted person after they approached officers and stated they wanted to "turn oneself in." Person claimed they had a warrant for their arrest for failing to appear in court for a domestic related case.

- 10:47 am, Other, Picnic Point. Depositing Human Waste - Cited person for depositing human waste (UW Code) after person was defecating in a bag near the entrance of Picnic Point.
- 12:42 pm, Other, Red Gym. Depositing Human Waste - Contacted/Cited suspect for Depositing Human Waste.
- 2:02 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 48. Contacted person for a stolen Stihl string trimmer (labeled 5B with a UW QR code on gas tank).
- 4:30 pm, Other, Lot 130. Lewd & Lascivious - Contacted person who was found bathing near lot 130 by a passerby. Cited person for lewd & lascivious behavior (exposure). Educated and offered available resources to person but they declined.
- 5:02 pm, Graffiti, Humanities. Blue and black paint graffiti on a sign directing people to a different stairwell to exit the building.
- 7:11 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Memorial Union. Contacted suspect who was reportedly disturbing patrons on the Union Terrace.
- 1:00 am, Drug Violation, Frances & Dayton Streets. Stopped/Cited/Released on scene suspect for expired registration. Detected odor of MJ while in contact with driver.
- 2:18 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted MFD & MPD with a PNB response and transported to local hospital.

- 6:42 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted building manager who opened the door before the alarms were disarmed at 7am.
- 8:59 am, Damage to Property, Dayton & Mills Streets. Contacted person from transportation services ref damage to bus stop bench. Damage included bench torn from bus shelter.
- 9:40 am, Theft/Larceny, Lot 17. Called person for an attempted theft of hubcaps on their white Chevy Silverado.
- 11:26 am, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Cited person for UW code disorderly conduct after another person felt scared/threatened after person told them “End is coming, it’s coming to end soon, go back to Saudi Arabia you fucking bitch” while they were walking on Library Mall near Memorial Library.
- 1:33 pm, Warrant Served, Memorial Union. Contacted/Arrested/Cited/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for a probation warrant from Department Of Corrections.
- 2:13 pm, Information, UWPD. University Communications contacted UWPD for individual who was making general threatening remarks online to the UW-Madison Instagram account.
- 4:47 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 76. While checking level 4 of the lot, person backed into the front passenger side door of department squad with their vehicle.
- 5:58 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 46. During follow-up investigation of a separate damage to property call from 06/19/2023, Officer observed on camera, an involved individual damage the window to the Lot 46 stairwell door #1.
- 7:07 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person after they were reported to have dislocated their shoulder while playing basketball.
- 11:20 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Assisted MPD with placing suspect in protective custody.

- 9:26 am, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding leases in MD and VA fraudulently opened under former name.
- 11:14 am, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Threat investigation of person and threats made towards hospital and various clinical staff.
- 12:03 pm, Criminal Damage, Ag Hall. Contacted person regarding criminal damage to bike lock.
- 2:12 pm, Fire, Lifesaving Station. Contacted person regarding damaged property.
- 3:09 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Contacted person regarding contact with former partner who approached them while they were sleeping at Memorial Union today to harass them.
- 4:17 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Made contact with person who indicated alarm was set off in error.
- 5:23 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Lot 63. Contacted person and partner regarding a report of an altercation in lot 63 BL elevator.
- 6:35 pm, Other, Lifesaving Station. Request For Assistance - Items placed into clear plastic bag and tagged to be removed.
- 8:46 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Black wallet turned in after Uber driver found it in vehicle.
- 10:29 pm, Other, Location Redacted. Request For Assistance - Contacted person in local hospital lobby after they caused verbal disturbance following discharge.
- 10:47 pm, Drug Violation, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding another person who was in the ER .
- 11:37 pm, Drug Violation, Tent Colony Lot. Contacted person for closing hours and drug violations.
- 2:25 am, Bail Jumping, Farley & University Ave. Arrested/Cited/Released suspect for misdemeanor bail jumping x2. PAC .02 restriction, failure to install IID, and driving while revoked.
Daily Blotter for July 5th 2023
- 12:54 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Memorial Union. Upon arrival MFR had patient on stretcher. No further police assistance requested.
- 2:13 pm, Graffiti, Arboretum Duck Pond Lot. Person called for a report of graffiti. Located numerous graffiti tags on rock wall just west of Duck Pond lot.
- 4:24 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Contacted person after they were called in by Memorial Union staff being on premises and causing a disturbance.
- 5:53 pm, Other, Nakoma Road & Monroe Street. Traffic Stop - Cited suspect for County Ord Possession of THC and passenger for Open Intoxicants. Also verbally warned driver for failure to yield right of way. Confiscated presumed THC, disposed of open intoxicants (unknown alcohol in a water bottle).
- 8:17 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Contacted person for a report of disorderly conduct.
- 10:40 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for a body only warrant that was confirmed.
- 11:16 pm, Other, W. Gorham & N Broom Streets. Arrested/cited/transported to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 2nd and resisting arrest (criminal). Cited for operating w/o required lamps lighted (reason for stop) and operating after revocation (forfeiture).
- 12:15 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, N. Broom & W. Gorham Streets. Requested by City of Madison PD for K9 Sniff of vehicle on traffic stop. Positive alert. MJ shake on floorboards, open intoxicants, and 32 with extended mag recovered.
- 1:20 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, W. Johnson St. Assisted MPD, due to their request, with clearing large groups off of State St. Somewhere around 75 people. Group was causing fights and one person in the group was reported to have a firearm.
