Daily Blotter for April 10th 2024
- 6:35 am, Other, Lot 7/Grainger Hall Parking Garage. Camping - Contacted/Cited/Released person for picnicking and camping after they were reported and found sleeping using their bag as a pillow in the Brooks Street stairwell.
- 10:46 am, Harassment, UWPD. Contact made with person who sent numerous harassing and threatening text messages from a local phone number. A Stalking Warning Letter was issued and person agreed they would cease further contact.
- 11:29 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Local Hospital. Transported person to Detox after being contacted in local hospital Emergency Room at request of staff due to level of intoxication.
- 2:43 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Contacted person who reported their E-Bike had been stolen over spring break.
- 2:50 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Bakke Recreation Center. Person transported by MFR to local hospital for medical issue.
- 11:06 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Big Bluestem Pkwy/Blazingstar Ln. Assisted Fitchburg PD with a drone request regarding a strong arm robbery.
- 2:04 am, Criminal Damage, Witte Hall. Attempted contact with persons after finding a damaged emergency exit sign on the 9th floor. Cameras had both suspects damaging the sign and attempting to cover up the camera. Follow up and interviews to be conducted with both suspects.

- 2:15 pm, Theft/Larceny, University Houses. Contacted person by phone who reported their Arcteryx ski pants had been stolen from their front door.

- 8:53 am, Damage to Property, Sellery Hall. Viewed Sellery Hall 10th Floor B Tower Security Camera Footage which captured person damage ceiling tile accidentally and another damage ceiling tile intentionally.
- 12:05 pm, Criminal Damage, Lot 75. Contacted person who reported their vehicle received damage (windshield washer fluid in gas tank) while parked in Lot 75 on 4/2/24 sometime between 8am and 12pm.
- 12:24 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Unidentified person turned in Memorial Union Terrace Chair (green) to lobby. Returned chair to Memorial Union Staff.
- 6:04 am, Found Property, Martin St. & Frazer Pl. Contacted person after they located a firearm in the Arboretum approximately 200 ft west of the radio tower by Martin St. After careful inspection, it was determined to be a facsimile firearm.
- 10:41 am, Eluding, Emerald & S. Brooks Streets. Attempted to stop a black sedan for failure to obey a stop sign. No pursuit.

- 1:01 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing medical emergency, MFR transported to local hospital.
- 3:04 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person who was having a mental health crisis.
- 4:45 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, N. Charter St. & University Ave. Patient in ambulance on arrival, no PD needed.
- 6:43 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person at local hospital experiencing mental health crisis.
- 11:28 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Security Officer located person laying on the University Ave. sidewalk (on city property, not violating bail conditions). Transported to Detox without incident.
- 12:20 am, Other, Smith Hall. UW Code Not Listed - Cited person for smoking in/outside a residence hall after housefellows observed them smoking marijuana right outside the entrance to Smith and they would not move further away from the building when asked to do so.

- 8:46 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Assisted MFR response for person needing medical assistance, MFR transported to local hospital.
- 10:38 am, Damage to Property, Lot 74. Contacted by phone person who reported damage to their vehicle in Lot 74.
- 11:55 am, Domestic, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Dane County Jail person for Recklessly Endangering Safety, False Imprisonment, and Disorderly Conduct with Domestic Enhancers for incident at local hospital.
- 11:38 pm, Other, University Ave & N. Mills St. Traffic Stop - Stopped/verbally warned person for operating in the bus lane and unsafe lane deviation. Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail passenger for bail jumping with bail conditions of not to consume or possess alcohol.
- 2:07 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Joyce Erdman Pl. & University Ave. Arrested/Released to Responsible Party suspect for OWI 1st offense. Cited for PAC 1st offense, operating w/o required lamps lighted, UAL 1st, and fake ID.

- 9:33 am, Graffiti, Limnology Building. Contacted person who reported new graffiti on the north exterior of the building.
- 1:54 pm, Information, Smith Hall. Cited person for tampering with security device after they were observed on elevator cameras twice (3/15 and 3/21/24) changing the camera angles.
- 2:22 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Contacted by telephone person who reported their e-bike was stolen from rack on south side of Ogg Hall between 3/22/24 12pm & 3/31/24 night.
- 5:51 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 46. Contacted person after they located a note on their vehicle in Lot 46 saying that someone had hit their car.
- 12:29 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited/Released to local hospital person for UAL 1st after housefellows found them in stairwell.
- 1:51 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Dayton & N. Bassett Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released suspect for OWI 5th also cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed.

- 6:36 am, Check Person, Braxton Place & Park St. Arrested/Cited/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for misdemeanor Bail Jumping x3 and misdemeanor resisting.
- 12:32 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Inoperable iPhone 13 turned into UWPD.
- 2:54 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Patient transported to local hospital experiencing medical emergency.
- 3:51 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person who reported on 4/2/2024 a Straightline box truck backed into the loading dock doors while delivering voting equipment.
- 4:51 pm, Damage to Property, Henry Mall. Contacted person after crashing front end of vehicle into fire hydrant.

- 12:17 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Park St. & Olin Ave. Arrested/Cited/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI(1st), PAC > .15, Possession of open intox, unsafe lane deviation and deviation from designated lane.

- 9:39 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Chemistry Building. Cited person for UW bypass security device.
- 5:34 pm, Emergency Detention, Local Hospital. Contacted person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 7:09 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 46. Contacted Transportation Services reporting the Francis Street gate arm and pillar was damaged by a vehicle exiting without paying.
- 3:00 am, Eluding, Campus Dr & University Ave. Attempted to stop a vehicle with dealer plates, at University Ave/Campus Dr. Reason for stop was improper display of registration. Vehicle continued westbound on Old University.
- 4:29 am, Check Person, Lot 63. Contacted person who was discharged from local hospital after experiencing a mental health crisis.
