- 5:42 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they accidentally set off a forced door alarm at the east entrance.
- 7:43 am, Graffiti, Humanities. Red spray paint “So we still fighting” next to “racizm is still breathing” from yesterday.
- 7:54 am, Graffiti, Memorial Library. Black star with “see your pain and you don’t deserve it” spray painted on the southeast pillar of the Memorial Library.
- 8:09 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person who advised the person on camera was staff that was currently working in the basement.
- 2:17 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 29. Contacted person who reported their bike light and bag were stolen off their bike while it was parked in bike cage in Lot 29 sometime between 4/27/23 at 4:45pm and 5/2/23 at 1pm.
- 4:15 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Contacted/Cited person for UW camping & possession of alcohol on UW lands.
- 4:33 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Wallet belonging to person located on N. Orchard St. on the bike path turned over to UWPD.
- 6:13 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, HSLC. Contacted person who called UWPD requested an unlock at HSLC.
- 6:16 pm, Criminal Damage, McKay Center. Contacted person at the McKay Center Lot in the Arboretum in reference to the criminal damage and attempted break in to their vehicle.
- 6:26 pm, Theft/Larceny, Tent Colony Lot. Contacted person who parked their vehicle in the Tent Colony Lot at approximately 5:30pm and when person returned to their vehicle the driver’s door/lock was compromised and sustained damage.
- 7:49 pm, Theft/Larceny, UWPD. Contacted a Police Officer from Caledonia PD in reference to recovering a stolen bicycle from UW-Madison campus reference.
- 11:23 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Campus & University Ave. UWPD officers assisted Madison PD with a hit and run investigation on Campus Dr at University Ave. Suspect Arrested/Cited/Released to Dane County Jail on resisting charges from UWPD. MPD Primary on case for OWI, hit and run, CCW, felon in possession of firearm, Probation hold, and among other.
- 1:01 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Union South. Contacted person who was found sleeping on the 2nd floor patio to Union South by the Building Manager. Person remained at location after notice, cited for trespass, cited for possession of alcohol on UW lands. Arrested/Cited/Released to Dane County Jail.
- 1:51 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W Washington Ave & N Fairchild Street. Arrested/Cited/Released suspect for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, and failure to obey sign (wrong way on one way).
- 3:49 am, Check Person, Bascom Hall. Checked the area for a subject who was reported to have been laying on the sidewalk to the north of the Law Building. Upon arrival, the subject was no longer in the area.
- 4:14 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Bascom Hall. Cited persons for UW Unauthorized Presence (Roof, tunnel, or maintenance facility) after they triggered a roof access alarm at Bascom.

- 7:59 am, Graffiti, Humanities. "RACISM IS STILL BREATHING" in red spray paint on 2nd floor North facing wall.
- 9:37 am, Damage to Property, Eagle Heights. Contacted person after their vehicle and a state vehicle both had their windows broken out by Maple Leaf Lawn Care after rocks were kicked up by machinery.
- 9:48 am, Theft/Larceny, University Hospital. Linked to another case, contacted Gift Shop Manager, regarding items taken without payment from the gift shop between 4:30pm on 5/1 and 3:48pm 5/2.
- 11:19 am, Graffiti, Integrative Biology. Squiggle thing (L2?) in red spray paint on North side of building.
- 12:48 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Babcock & Observatory Drive. Assisted MFD-EMS with person who fainted while on a Metro bus.
- 2:31 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person reporting a lewd photo was posted on "VSCO" with their name and information below it.
- 6:52 pm, Information, Bascom Hall. Contacted person regarding another person making false statements about them.
- 11:09 pm, Check Person, Pyle Center. Contacted/Cited suspect for UW Code Possession/Consumption of Alcohol.
- 11:24 pm, Battery, Location Redacted. While completing a consensual contact with another case said person reported being battered by another person after getting upset about a “meme” and their choice in romantic partners.
- 12:30 am, Theft/Larceny, Sellery Hall. Contacted/cited for UAL persons after one person was observed by House Fellows bringing a 25mph speed limit sign and post into the Sellery lobby.
- 12:47 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Sellery Hall. Contacted person in Sellery Hall lobby after seen them carrying an open beer bottle.
- 1:06 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Red Gym. Contacted person outside the Memorial Union near the Lake Mendota shoreline after they had been reported to being suicidal and was actively cutting them self per the suicide hotline.
- 2:14 am, Operating While Intoxicated, University Ave & N Breese Terrace. Cited/arrested/released to a responsible party suspect for OWI 1st, PAC >=0.15 (1ST), operating after suspended, and Fail/stop for flashing red signal (reason for stop).
- 5:08 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Grainger Hall. Cited person for UW Closing hours violation after they were reported to be wandering on the second floor of the building, hiding from custodians.
Daily Blotter for May 4th 2023
- 9:17 am, Other, Red Gym/Bascom Hall/N lake Street/University Ave/N Charter St/W Johnson St/East Campus Mall. Demonstration/Protest - Approx 150-200 individuals conducted a demonstration moving from the Red Gym to Bascom Hall (interior). Group was met by staff from the DOSO and the Chancellor`s office; group left Bascom peacefully and appeared to disperse back at the Red Gym. Group reassembled and marched/occupied N Lake St, University Ave, N Charter St, W Johnson St, and E Campus Mall, blocking all vehicular traffic.
- 11:45 am, Theft/Larceny, University Hospital Gift Shop. Contacted person regarding items taken without payment from the gift shop between 4:30pm on 5/1 and 3:48pm 5/2.
- 11:08 pm, Follow-up, John Nolen Drive. Update- Contacted person while conducting follow-up on stolen bicycle about a possible suspect staying under the bridge on John Nolan Dr with stolen bicycles.
- 11:48 pm, Resisting Arrest, 600 Blk N Segoe Road. Traffic Stop/Resist Arrest - Stopped/cited suspect for unreasonable and imprudent speed. Detained passerby as they inserted themselves in the stop. Assisted by other agencies.
- 1:02 am, Follow-up, John Nolen & North Shore Drive. Additional follow up regarding bike theft case - Contacted person in regard to stolen bicycle case as MPD was flagged down by person stating one of the individuals living under the bridge had showed up on scene.
- 3:19 am, Theft/Larceny, E Wilson/Martin Luther King . Arrested/cited/transported/released to Dane County Jail suspect for theft reference previous cases, felony bail jumping x2, 2nd offense possession of drug paraphernalia, 2nd offense possession of THC, and DOC warrant.

- 9:11 am, Information, Lakeshore Path. Contacted person who reported that between Oct of 2021 and April of 2023 they randomly encountered a friend of a former partner 4-5 times on the Temin lake path trail.
- 9:40 am, Theft/Larceny, University Hospital. Contacted person regarding the theft of a tan bag containing approx. $200 worth of quarters from his cart outside the pharmacy.
- 12:46 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person via phone regarding the theft of his dark grey Specialized brand mountain bike with front and rear fenders value: $750) from the west bike racks outside the sunset lounge.
- 4:31 pm, Select Agent Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person reporting a former partner called them on a work phone 12 times calling them names and demanding they unblock them on their mobile device .
- 6:07 pm, Other, Nicholas Recreation Center. iPhone found actively recording people in locker room.
- 8:20 pm, Theft/Larceny, Social Sciences. Contacted person reporting their bike (minus one tire) was taken from the bike racks along the lakeshore path on the north side of Social Sciences building between 1pm-6pm.
- 8:34 pm, Extortion, Location Redacted. Contacted person at residence hall who reported having been contacted via Skype by a potential scammer beginning on 4/21/23 thru 5/2/2023.

- 8:16 am, Criminal Damage, Bradley Hall. Person the bathroom stall door in room 342 was removed from the stall between 4/28/23 at 4pm and 4/31/23 at 12p. caused pivot pin on door and wall latch to be broken/bent.
- 7:10 pm, Theft/Larceny, Kronsage Hall. Dispatched to call person regarding a theft.
- 7:23 pm, Extortion, Location Redacted. Contacted person reporting they were scammed out of $800 by an unknown suspect after sending them nude photos of oneself.
- 7:44 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Library. Contacted person who reported their black Trek FX3 was stolen from the south west bike rack by Memorial Library.
- 2:31 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Assisted MPD during red status of local hospital by blocking the ER entrance limiting entry.

- 7:03 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Union South. Cited person for UW camping and UW possession of alcohol after staff found them sleeping in the southwest stairwell.
- 9:08 am, Other, Sellery Hall. Contacted person who reported a toilet in the 10th-floor mens` bathroom was filled with grout. Toilet and surrounding tile will have to be replaced, possible damage to plumbing system as well.
- 9:17 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Male being transported upon arrival.
- 10:45 am, Bail Jumping, Extension Building. Arrested/transported/cited/redleased to Dane County Jail for misdemeanor bail jumping for possessing MJ/paraphernalia reference Dane County case.
- 2:15 pm, Information, Witte Hall. Person reported a suspicious male lurking through Witte and attempting to get into rooms at approximately 3am on 04/30/23.
- 12:04 am, Bail Jumping, Witte Hall. Contacted/arrested/cited/transported/released to Dane County Jail suspect for felony bail jumping and disorderly conduct.

- 4:39 am, Disorderly Conduct, Witte Hall. Arrested/cited/transported/released to Dane County Jail suspect for disorderly conduct and lewd and lascivious behavior.
- 9:58 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Confirmed that lights were not working in room.
- 11:44 am, Other, UWPD. Stalking - Contacted person who walked into the PD to report that their student was being harassed and stalked by another person.
- 12:52 pm, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Contacted person who reported AV equipment stolen from the Marquee Theater sometime between 11:15am and 12:30pm on 4/29/23.
- 1:04 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Witte Hall. Cited person for UAL-1st after HFs found them vomiting in a restroom.
- 1:42 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, University Ave & Park Street. MFR transported person to detox in assistance to MPD case.
- 2:36 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, 200 Blk East Campus Mall. Transported person after they were observed rolling on the ground on the north side of the pedestrian tunnel.
- 3:22 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Checked all 1st floor bathrooms and found no passed-out persons.
- 3:29 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Sellery Hall. Contacted person in the Sellery Hall lobby area for detox evaluation.
- 3:52 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Bedford & Mifflin Streets. Assisted MPD who assisted MFR in transporting person to local hospital.
- 3:57 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Dayton St & East Campus Mall. Cited person for UAL-1st State after they exposed their naked posterior to myself while on patrol.
- 3:59 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Witte Hall. Cited/Verbally warned person for UAL 1st/UAL False ID after they were being carried into Witte Hall. Detox evaluation conducted and due to incapacitated levels of alcohol consumption person placed into protective custody and transported to local hospital, as Detox was full.
- 4:11 pm, Other, 600 Blk W Dayton Street. Contacted person for a detox evaluation after they were observed vomiting and leaning over a retaining wall. Person resisted officers numerous times once in custody and is on probation with an absolute sobriety restriction. Transported/Released to Dane County Jail without incident.
- 4:24 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Dayton & Orchard Streets. Contacted person after they were observed being carried down W Dayton St by two other people. Person transported to local hospital as Detox was full. .
- 4:30 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Gordon Commons. Cited person for UAL.
- 4:40 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Detox transport - Contacted person in the lobby area of residence hall for a detox eval. Unaware of date/time/location. Intoxicated/incapacitated due to ETOH. Placed into protective custody to local hospital as detox was full.
- 4:43 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person who is a patient at local hospital .
- 4:53 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Gordon Commons. Cited person for UAL 1st after they were reported to be unaware of their location while inside Gordon Commons.

- 8:35 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person after their former partner contacted UWPD stating they left their room abruptly and said suicidal statements on the way out.

- 10:20 pm, Information, Bradley Hall. Contacted person who was in Bradley Hall reporting another person was on the third floor of Bradley and shouldn’t be.
- 1:28 am, Battery, Johnson & Frances Streets. Arrested/cited/transported/released to Dane County Jail suspect for resisting officers, battery to Law Enforcement Officer and discharging bodily fluids at Law Enforcement Officer.

- 9:14 am, Theft/Larceny, Pyle Center. Contacted person who reported 3 stainless steel flower heads were stolen from a sculpture in the courtyard on the northwest side of the building sometime between 3am and 6am on 4/28/23.
- 9:31 am, Found Property, Red Gym Dock. Canoe found flipped over under the pier behind the Red Gym, along with a key on the pier.
- 11:44 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. No disposition at this time.
- 12:40 pm, Other, Location Redacted. Suicide - Person was found deceased in an off campus location but considered campus jurisdiction.
- 2:40 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Spoke to person who said no issues in lab.
- 4:22 pm, Disorderly Conduct, McKay Center. Contacted person who was walking on gardener marsh boardwalk around 15:15.
- 4:41 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, East Campus Mall. Contacted person who was having a medical incident outside Gordon Dining Hall.
- 5:20 pm, Lost Property, Memorial Union. Contacted person after they could not find their backpack.
- 6:38 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person after their parent contacted L&S Dean concerned about their recent mental health.

- 12:05 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Near East Fields. MFR transported person to local hospital after dislocating their shoulder while playing a game on the near east fields.
- 1:57 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Bakke Recreation Center. Transported person to local hospital after finger injury.
- 2:11 pm, Information, UWPD. Contacted person who was reporting harassing behavior by person who was a former employee until recently.
- 3:53 pm, Theft/Larceny, Smith Hall. Cited person for Criminal Theft x2 and UAL 1st after their roommates reported their clothing and jewelry missing.
- 4:01 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Dejope. Transport person to local address after making contact with them at Dejope residence hall.
- 5:48 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Weeks Hall. Contacted person who was having a panic attack due to a roach crawling on them.
- 5:57 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person who reported their Aventon Pace 350 electric bicycle stolen from the bike racks on the south side of Memorial Union.
- 7:35 pm, Alarm, Bascom Hall. Cited multiple persons for unauthorized presence after receiving an alarm from the roof gate.
- 4:41 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted person who reported damage to their vehicle while it was parked in lot 75.
- 10:48 pm, Drug Violation, Lot 46. Cited persons for possession of marijuana after both were seen in the lower-level stairwell of Lot 46 smoking MJ.
- 11:32 pm, Check Person, Vilas Hall. Stopped persons on west side of Humanities after UW Security observed them take an abandoned sleeping bag and backpack from the 4th floor of Vilas.
- 1:26 am, Found Property, UWPD. Green card holder with WISC card, $25 Amazon gift card and bus pass belonging to person was turned in to UWPD dispatch.
- 1:06 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, WISPIC. Contacted person after they were reported by WISPIC staff to be experiencing seizures during a sleep study.

- 9:23 am, Emergency Detention, Local Hospital. Contacted by telephone person from Crisis, regarding potential ED from local hospital who was seeking voluntary mental health care .
- 12:39 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lathrop Street. Verbally warned person for theft after passerby reported seeing a UW reserved parking space sign displayed outside of off campus residence.
- 4:45 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Cleared building while Dane County Sheriff Office held perimeter.
- 6:39 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, WIMR. Contacted persons for a motor vehicle accident in the lot of HSLC.
- 2:30 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Assisted SHPD checking open door and clearing shopping area.
- 2:37 am, Drug Violation, Lot 80. Arrested/cited/released to Dane County Jail suspect for misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of a schedule 1 narcotic after transportation services called saying they were acting suspiciously at the bottom of the parking ramp.
