Resisting an Officer and Criminal Damage Arrest

At 10:50 PM on April 27, 2016, a University Police Department Security Officer located a subject sleeping on the 4th floor exterior level of Vilas Hall. The Security Officer called dispatch and requested Police respond to the area. A University Police Officer responded and made contact with the individual who was intoxicated and attempted to identify him. During the course of the interaction, the subject fought with the officer but was ultimately taken into custody.
The subject, Timothy A Arnold, is a person of interest in the recent graffiti cases of green and black spray paint throughout campus and other locations in the City of Madison. He was booked into the Dane County Jail for a misdemeanor arrest of Resisting a Police Officer and citations for Possession of Alcohol and UW Lands and Camping on UW Lands. Investigators from the UW-Madison and City of Madison Police Department are conducting follow up in the case of graffiti.
