Daily Blotter for December 22nd 2025
- 11:54 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 8:40 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Mifflin Street. Contacted person with outside agency regarding a weapons violation on E Mifflin St. Outside agency arrested/transported multiple parties to local hospitals for medical clearance prior to Dane County Jail.
- 10:38 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave & Frances Street. Assisted outside agency with locating and contacting person after they were reported as intoxicated and experiencing mental health crisis. Outside agency Arrested/Cited/Transported to Dane County Jail Threats to LE, DC, L&L, resisting and the mis. warrant. UWPD issued one charge of obstruction.

- 8:31 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 9:15 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted/Placed person into protective custody experiencing mental health crisis after battery to a healthcare worker.
- 6:14 pm, Theft/Larceny, HC White. Contacted person who reported theft of items.
- 10:44 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 10:47 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Hospital to red status, into green quickly thereafter.

- 7:42 am, Check Person, Humanities Building. Contacted/Cited person for Disorderly Conduct after taking their coat off and throwing it and threatening to fight a person in the Humanities Building.
- 11:27 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with a cell phone examination.
- 3:01 pm, Found Property, Engineering Building. Engineering turned in their lost and found items collected through the first half of the school year. Items placed into property for safe keeping to attempt to locate owners.
- 6:19 pm, Warrant Served, UWPD. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for a active Dunn County Warrant for failure to appear for operating without valid license.
- 7:08 pm, Theft/Larceny, Engineering Building. Contacted person reporting their iPad stolen, confronted persons who took item and recovered additional items that persons had stolen. Item stolen not recovered but tracked and found along with other property abandoned on railroad tracks west of N Randall Ave along Campus Dr.
- 9:44 pm, Other, University Ave/East Campus Mall. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited person for Failure to install IID (misd.), OWS, Verbally Warned for operating without required lamps.
- 9:46 pm, Fire, Residence Hall. Assisted MFD and UWPD Security with a fire alarm. No signs of smoke on arrival. MFD found large amount of steam and flowing water coming from a heating unit.
- 11:31 pm, Other, Lake & Dayton Streets. Traffic Stop - Contacted driver for operating without required lights, confiscated/destroyed marijuana, citations issued, vehicle legally parked, driver released without issue.
- 12:27 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Johnson & Bassett Streets. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for OWI 1st, reckless driving and unreasonable and imprudent speed.

- 12:07 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Person transported to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 8:45 am, Information, Location Redacted. Person requested assistance with unwanted contact from person.
- 10:22 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contact with person experiencing medical and mental health crisis.
- 12:37 pm, Information, Office of Admissions. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.
- 2:04 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Contacted person reporting their bike stolen from Ogg Hall bike rack.
- 6:23 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Multiple UWPD officers assisted outside agency with clearing of building with active burglary occurring inside. Suspect located at rear of building, outside agency arrested/transported to Dane County Jail.
- 1:36 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Lot 7. Re-Contacted person after they failed to heed previously noted trespass warning and cited for Trespass-Remain after notice (State), and released.
Daily Blotter for December 18th 2025
- 4:30 am, Other, N. Park Street. Responded to 21 N Park St for a major water flood of approximately 2 inches. Exterior Standpipe was observed leaking from the outside. MFR responded and shut down the system along with leaking the pressure. Servpro was contacted. UW Plumber arrived and confirmed stand valve was broken. UW Security assisted with firewatch.
- 11:43 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person needing medical assistance, MFR transported to local hospital.
- 12:07 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. No disposition at this time.
- 4:36 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person who advised there were no issued in the facility, and the alarm was likely set off in error.
- 10:38 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 75. Watched camera footage of vehicle “tailgating" behind vehicles while leaving lot 75 on four different dates. Transportation Services to follow up with Registered Owner.

- 7:11 am, Drug Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person regarding another person discovering a bag in one of the elevators suspected to be a drug substance.
- 2:05 pm, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Person contacted regarding sensitive crime.
- 5:48 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State Street. Assisted outside agency regarding a disturbance outside the Triangle Market and held suspect after observing them assault another person. Person heavily intoxicated and uncooperative.
- 6:40 pm, Other, Regent St. & Brooks Court. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver and released driver to passenger who drove vehicle away/driver cited for Failure to Yield to pedestrian in controlled crosswalk, cited for criminal OAR and failure to install IID.

- 6:26 am, Theft/Larceny, Kohl Center. Person reported their jacket missing from the Kohl Center after commencement.
- 8:32 am, Battery, Local Hospital. Cited/Detained person for 2 counts of Assaultive Behavior, and 1 count of DC, after they started a disturbance in a local hospital entrance, while experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:09 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person who reported they left their black Sony headphones in the Residence Hall Lounge and noticed they were missing today around noon.
- 3:57 pm, Fire, Adams Hall. Contacted/Cited person for Smoking in Residence Halls after setting off the smoke alarm in their room, which then activated the fire alarm for the entirety of Adams Hall.
- 5:38 pm, Other, Lot 7. Suspicious Odor - Located smoldering refuse in P2 East Stairwell after a caller reported a burning smell in the east stairwell elevator lobby.
- 5:51 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted person reported threatening incident at local hospital, for informational purposes only at this time.
- 7:57 pm, Check Person, Residence Hall. Contacted/Verbally Warned person for UW Possession of Marijuana after they reported nausea and tachycardia after consuming THC gummy edibles they purchased.
- 1:29 am, Theft/Larceny, Lot 56. Contacted person regarding their vehicle being stolen from Lot 56 after leaving it running and unlocked at the time of left from the lot.

- 8:01 am, Check Person, Grainger Hall/Lot 7. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person in lot 7 NW stairwell, verbally warned for unauthorized presence, Possession THC vape and arrested on Criminal Damage warrant.
- 11:11 am, Found Property, Grainger Hall. Discovered a black backpack in the northeast stairwell of the building, owner known and placed into safekeeping until owner can be contacted for pick up.
- 5:01 pm, Information, Office of Admissions. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.

- 2:36 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Local Hospital. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.

- 10:35 am, Graffiti, Lot 87. Located faded and peeling no parking sign with purple squiggly mark on it in paint.
- 12:10 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted by telephone person reporting they believe their wallet was stolen from their backpack at the Nicholas Recreation Center. Person called back informing us that the wallet was found while retracing steps back to the NRC.
- 4:26 pm, Information, Office of Admissions. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.
- 6:00 pm, Battery, Local Hospital. Cited person for assaultive behavior of health care worker.
- 2:21 am, Drug Violation, Lot 83. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Trespass to Land - Remain After Notice and UW Possession of Marijuana after locating them smoking within the western stairwell.
- 3:03 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
