Daily Blotter for June 19th 2025
- 11:27 pm, Other, Alumni House. Attempt To Locate - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect on previous Probably Cause for theft, and added possession of drug paraphernalia after finding a marijuana pipe within their backpack.
- 11:43 pm, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.
Daily Blotter for June 18th 2025
- 8:35 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Highland Ave. & Observatory Drive. Contacted person who did not realize that they caused damage.
- 1:43 pm, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Spoke with person whose item was stole when left in the Marquee Theater at Union South.
- 2:40 pm, Fire, Dairy Cattle Research Center. Contacted MFR stated fire was caused by an electrical issue.
- 3:37 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Person wanted to report concerning statements regarding minor attending day camp. Case turned over to MPD due to jurisdiction, nothing occurred on UW Campus.
- 5:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Limnology Building. Contacted person reporting persons unlocked ebike was stolen from the north side of Limnology while attending event at Hoofer's.
Daily Blotter for June 17th 2025
- 9:30 am, Found Property, Observatory Drive & Charter Street. Backpack/property/passport belonging to person was released after found earlier in the day.
- 1:25 pm, Criminal Damage, Lot 17. Vehicle drove through gate arm causing damage, reported to Transportation Services, vehicle owner located and cited for liability hit and run causing property damage.
- 3:14 pm, Found Property, Chazen Muzeum. Backpack found by Chazen dumpsters and turned in to Security staff.
- 6:43 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital. Contacted staff member of local hospital reporting person made threatening remarks towards them. Person of interest escorted off property, no charges or citations issued, person left without incident.
- 8:33 pm, Drug Violation, Johnson & State Streets. Stopped/Verbally warned driver for improper left turn.
- 11:04 pm, Other, Johnson & Broom Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for wrong way driving (one way) and Operating Without License. Verbally Warned all parties in vehicle for possession of THC.
- 11:44 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Johnson & Broom Streets. Stopped/Detained/Verbally Warned/Released driver for conditions requiring reduced speed after striking and decapitating a large traffic barrel directly adjacent to another UWPD traffic contact.
- 12:25 am, Other, University Ave & Orchard Street. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for Operating While Revoked, Verbally Warned for expired registration and possession of THC which was in plain view during traffic stop.
- 12:46 am, Other, Pickney & Johnson Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for Operating with Suspended Registration for OAR (forfeiture) and failure to install IID, Verbally Warned for suspended registration. Vehicle legally parked, driver released without incident.
- 4:53 am, Theft/Larceny, Gordon Commons. Contacted person regarding their phone being stolen.

- 7:09 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 7:48 pm, Eluding, Johnson & Park Streets. Attempted to stop 5 motorcycles doing tricks and weaving in and out of multiple lanes. Bikes took off at high right of speed, no pursuit.
- 12:06 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 2:13 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Campus Drive & University Bay Drive. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for OWI 2nd, PAC 2nd, Failure to install IID, OAR, keep open intoxicants in a MV, deviation from designated lane and stopping/standing on crosswalk.

- 9:53 pm, Other, Carroll & Dayton Streets. Cited/Released driver of vehicle for failure to install IID and OAR (criminal).
- 3:40 am, Check Person, Monroe Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Daily Blotter for June 14th 2025
- 9:59 am, Graffiti, Alumni House. Report of graffiti on the north side of the second-floor exterior balcony, in the center of a window frame.
- 4:27 pm, Drug Violation, Monroe Street. Located a small plastic bag outside Kwik Trip which contained 3 grams of marijuana.
- 5:00 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 63. Contacted person who reported someone hit their vehicle while it was parked in the P level of Lot 63.
- 5:41 pm, Other, Cole Hall. Verbally Warned person for urinating on Cole Residence Hall and cited them for obstruction after giving false information about name, UW affiliation, phone number, and address.
- 8:02 pm, Bail Jumping, East Campus Mall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for being in 333 East Campus Mall Building after hours, obstruction for providing a false name and felony bail jumping. They also had a body only warrant out of Dane County. Citation and ban letter issued from unrelated incident.
- 3:46 am, Check Person, Monroe Street. UWPD officer arrived a Kwik Trip after person of interest had caused extensive damage by throwing and kicking food items onto the ground and exiting the store into GAR Park, suspect no located. Investigation ongoing at this time.
- 5:22 am, Warrant Served, Monroe Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for a Body-Only Felony Warrant through Dane County for Strangulation-Domestic, DC-Domestic, and Bail Jumping.
Daily Blotter for June 13th 2025
- 11:00 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 5. Contacted person who crashed into yellow railing in Lot 5 south of Birge Hall by loading dock, no damage to railing, estimated damage to vehicle.
- 11:31 am, Other, Goodman Softball Complex. Request For Service - Person reported being kicking out of Goodman Softball Complex after their service dog urinated on the grass. Both person and service dog were allowed back into the complex after further discussion with Goodman Softball Complex staff.
- 12:46 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lot 36. Responded to Lot 36 to assist MPD looking for a stolen vehicle, vehicle located and towed from ramp without incident. Driver of vehicle was not aware the vehicle was reported as stolen.
- 1:18 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Person called to ask permission to leave a loading dock door open about four inches, over the course of the next five days. We advised that we do not recommend doing that from a safety and security standpoint, but the choice was ultimately theirs.
- 2:53 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Interviewed person regarding a safety plan for a stalking case they reported to MPD.
- 4:41 pm, Information, Middleton Building. Report pulled in error.
- 5:41 pm, Other, Cole Hall. No information provided at time of briefing release.
- 9:14 pm, Eluding, Walnut Street & University Ave. Attempted to a stop a black sport motorcycle (No Plate) for speeding, unnecessary acceleration, and no lights. Vehicle eluded and was last seen eastbound on University Avenue from Walnut St, no pursuit.
- 9:23 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Hwy 60/Interstate 90. No drone deployment, disregard upon arrival.
- 10:54 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Person dropped a bike off at the PD after they saw someone leave it in a parking lot (location unknown), bike secured in property, unknown if stolen.
- 10:56 pm, Other, University Ave. Weapons Violation during Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for carrying a concealed knife by a felon, bail jumping - misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, restrictions on use of facsimile firearms and failure to have light lamps when required after traffic stop was made.
- 2:02 am, Check Person, Observatory Drive & Babcock Drive. Contacted/Cited person for UAL 1st after being found walking without clothing on.
Daily Blotter for June 12th 2025
- 12:12 pm, Damage to Property, Lowell Center. Contacted person about a broken 3'x10' window on the basement level west side of the Lowell Center.
- 12:21 pm, Drug Violation, Lot 16. Verbally Warned person for Marijuana Possession in Lot 16.
- 3:15 pm, Information, Lot 75. Contacted local hospital valet staff after they witnessed poor driving behavior from person and also spoke with additional persons who had similar concerns, no ETOH/drug impairment concerns.
- 12:08 am, Other, Monroe Street. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited/Verbally Warned/Released driver of vehicle for failing to stop at a posted stop sign, cited for operating with a suspended license, verbally warned for stop sign violation, headlight out and possession of marijuana, driver released without incident to responsible party.
- 1:10 am, Other, Brooks & Regent Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for Operating Without Required Lamps Lit During Hours of Darkness, county possession of THC, non-registration of auto and operating without a valid license due to expiration. Passenger, who has valid license drove vehicle away.
- 5:18 am, Other, Extension Building. Contacted/Arrested/Released with citations for Unauthorized Picnicking or Camping after finding them asleep with a blanket.
Daily Blotter for June 11th 2025
- 3:33 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 17. Contacted Transportation Services regarding a gate arm which was struck/damaged in Lot 17.
- 11:05 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person reporting their bike stolen from Nicholas Recreation Center. Suspect identified and transported/released to Dane County Jail without incident.
- 1:12 am, Bail Jumping, Library Mall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for misdemeanor Bail Jumping after they were found asleep within the UW-Madison ban area.
- 2:34 am, Check Person, Memorial Library. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released with Citations person for UW Unauthorized Picnicking/Camping, UW Resisting/Obstructing, UW Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

- 8:27 am, Check Person, Humanities Building. Verbally warned person for violating their bail conditions.
- 10:43 am, Graffiti, Levy Hal. Physical Plant called and reported graffiti on the red mesh material around the construction site at this location.
- 10:49 am, Theft/Larceny, UBD Fields/West Fields. Contacted person regarding bike theft left locked to a Lot 60 parking sign by the west fields.
- 12:48 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lowell Center. Person reported their bike was stolen from the bike rack directly outside Lowell Center front doors.
- 2:43 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 6:47 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Unable to locate owner of found property.
- 11:43 pm, Other, Grainger Hall. Closing Hours Violation - Mailed UW Closing Hours citation to person after observing them wandering through building as person has current campus ban.
- 12:15 am, Drug Violation, Johnson & State Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for possession of cocaine, cited for possession of THC (County ord.) and operating without valid license.
