Daily Blotter for April 1st 2025
- 6:30 am, Battery, Location Redacted. Contacted person who reported they were strangled twice by an unknown person after meeting them at a local nightclub.
- 9:12 am, Follow-up, Lake & State Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Disorderly Conduct while armed.
- 10:54 am, Theft/Larceny, Humanities Building. Contacted person who reported their E-Scooter was taken without consent from the southernmost bike rack on the east side of Humanities, north of the Elvehjem.
- 4:26 pm, Graffiti, Picnic Point. Took report of graffiti in area of entrance to picnic point Lakeshore Nature Preserve.
- 7:25 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Found Large screen I-Pad in the Chazen Museum turned into UWPD as found property, I-Pad is Locked and needs a pass code to get into it. Unable to access, unable to find owners information, secured into property for safe keeping.
- 10:25 pm, Other, East Campus Mall. Soliciting - Stopped/Cited person for Selling, Peddling, Soliciting Prohibited after observing them soliciting for monetary contributions from persons on University Lands.
- 10:28 pm, Other, Lot 130. Closing Hours - Contacted person for closing hours violation, verbally warned for possession of weapon on UW lands.
- 12:20 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited persons for possession/consumption of alcohol.

- 2:41 am, Operating While Intoxicated, University Ave. & East Campus Mall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for misdemeanor hit and run to occupied vehicle and OWI 3rd.
- 8:51 pm, Follow-up, Residence Hall. Contacted person regarding theft follow up for a first shift officer. Person accidentally took an Apple Air Pod Case that they thought was theirs and brought item back after spring break – placed into safe keeping to be returned to correct owner.
- 11:32 pm, Disorderly Conduct, East Campus Mall & W. Dayton Street. Contacted persons after the group flagged down police advising they had encountered a person wielding a knife. WiscAlert created.

- 2:52 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Made phone contact with person regarding concerns or patient placement.
- 10:07 pm, Other, S. Bassett Street & W. Washington Ave. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned person for improper display of registration and possession of THC and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
- 11:52 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent & Madison Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party suspect for speeding 40/25,m cited for OWI.
- 1:30 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Johnson & N. Mills Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for OWI 1st.
- 2:41 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, University Ave. & East Campus Mall. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.
- 2:22 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Johnson & N. Carroll Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, possess open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, OWL and hit and run.

- 1:31 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Riding w/MPD mounted in Town of Oregon until 16:00.
- 1:38 pm, Graffiti, Picnic Point Grounds. Several graffiti tags at entrance to picnic point.
- 4:46 pm, Threat Assessment, Local Hospital. Contacted person who reported concerning comments made by their patient, referencing mowing down and killing motel staff.
- 5:52 pm, Threat Assessment, UWPD. Contacted person who has reported receiving disturbing emails to their wisc email from another person, Threat Director investigating.
- 9:19 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. & N. Segoe Rd. Vehicle stolen during day shift from Shorewood McDonalds located on traffic stop by SHPD, UWPD contacted, handcuffed, assisted with vehicle clear, and identified subject.
- 10:39 pm, Found Property, Mechanical Engineering Building. Security found birth certificate belonging to someone in 1st floor stairwell, unable to make contact with person, document secured in property safekeeping.
- 2:45 am, Warrant Served, Elvehjem Museum. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for a Felony Bench Warrant - 4th Degree Sexual Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Felony Bail Jumping, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

- 9:29 am, Check Person, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted person for trespass to non-public areas such as the locker room.
- 11:45 am, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding threatening text messages they had been receiving from a scammer who met them through the Whats Up app.
- 11:54 am, Other, Residence Hall. Request For Assistance - Person reported Amazon did not refund return drop off and wanted a police report.
- 12:58 pm, Fraud, Residence Hall. Contacted person after they received multiple calls related to a scam for "Spiritual Work" .
- 1:13 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 60. No information provided at time of briefing release.
- 2:02 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted by telephone hospital security officer who reported that someone reported being threatened with a weapon in the Hospital driveway.
- 10:07 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 63. Transportation Services vehicle struck while parked and unoccupied.
- 10:14 pm, Other, Campus Drive & N. Orchard Street. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party suspect for driving while suspended, verbally warned for failure to obey red traffic light (reason for stop) and for possession of marijuana.

- 9:00 am, Other, Memorial Library. Request For Assistance - Contacted person who requested a ride to the Beacon, ride provided no issues.
- 10:12 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Patient had medical emergency and transported to local hospital my MFR.
- 10:36 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person as alarm was due to equipment move.
- 2:36 pm, Other, N. Lake & W. Johnson Streets. Request For Assistance - Contacted person regarding them leaving their backpack in the bus stop, prior to boarding a bus to Milwaukee. Backpack found and placed in safekeeping until able to retrieve next week when person returns to Madison.
- 2:56 pm, Check Person, Local Hospital. Assisted local hospital security staff with person who entered the hospital wearing a sheath knife and refused to secure it per hospital policy, person eventually removed knife, knife placed into safekeeping until person discharged from hospital after treatment.
- 3:38 pm, Information, University Ave. Contacted person who reported a fraudulent check was cashed at a local financial institution that potential fraud occurred.
- 4:34 pm, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted Crisis who was pursuing an ED evaluation for person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 12:20 am, Found Property, Gillman Street. IPhone located in the lake covered in mud and slime, Phone was turned over to UWPD and placed into safekeeping to attempt to locate owner.

- 10:30 am, Lost Property, Russell Labs. Contacted person regarding their lost backpack seen on 3/24/2025 outside of Russell Labs or inside the Bakke Rec Center.
- 1:35 pm, Theft/Larceny, Sellery Hall. Contacted person regarding their electric scooter stolen.
- 3:20 pm, Theft/Larceny, Kohl Center. Contacted person regarding their E-Bike being stolen from the Kohl Center.
- 5:00 pm, Follow-up, Library Mall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect at library mall for bail jumping and theft based on Probable Cause Warrant.
Daily Blotter for March 25th 2025
- 9:54 am, Damage to Property, Fluno Center. Contacted the Fluno Center Facilities Manager regarding a utility truck backing into a light pole, located at the N. Frances St. entrance to the building on 03/20/2025 at approximately 2:30 P.M. The driver of the vehicle reported the accident to the Fluno center immediately after hitting the pole, confirmed accidental.
- 10:44 am, Harassment, UWPD. MBB Staff Member reported receiving unwanted/harassing text message and voice mail from unknown subject on Saturday, March 22, 2025 while in Denver, Colorado for the NCAA Tournament.
- 1:18 pm, Harassment, UWPD. Person reported receiving email from another person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:48 pm, Sensitive Crime, Local Hospital. Contacted person who reported sensitive crime by patient at local hospital. Per reporting person, only wanted a report taken at this time, no charges or additional follow up requested.
- 7:08 pm, Other, Eagle Heights. Suspicious Person - Contacted person who reported they observed a person smoking near the playground shelter near their apartment, at which time when in their apartment noticed said person directly outside of their window.
- 10:38 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Sterling Hall. Person located in Sterling Hall after hours, escorted out and cited for violating closing hours, also verbally warned for providing false information to law enforcement.
- 4:20 am, Other, Gordon Commons. Recovered Property - Recovered persons missing bicycle after finding the bicycle abandoned before observing them leaving it behind on UWPD security footage.
Daily Blotter for March 24th 2025
- 9:13 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Person called to report their bike was stolen, could not establish venue or bike description. Cited for unauthorized presence for being at Memorial Union while banned.
- 12:40 am, Other, Campus Drive & Randall Ave. Contacted/Cited person for no lamps lit during hours of darkness and failure to obey a red traffic light. Vehicle involved in MPD suspicious vehicle case, MPD took over call and person was arrested for OWI.

- 10:13 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Assisted Madison Police with moving patient from Emergency Room to squad as patient was uncooperative and non-compliant use of force tactics used.
- 10:29 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted Transportation Services regarding vehicle driving through the exit gate and damaging it at 4:03p on 03/22/25.
