6:21 am, Graffiti, Lot 6. Graffiti located in the stairwell S01B that is a long "I miss you" letter to someone in white paint marker approximately 2-3 feet long.
6:57 am, Warrant Served, Lot 46. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail one suspect on 3 warrants after locating them and another person sleeping in the elevator lobby (5th level). Other person was verbally warned for camping and released on scene.
9:43 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person who advised a contractor held the door open for a MG&E tech to come in causing the door alarm.
1:33 pm, Sexual Assault, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding a sexual assault, investigation ongoing.
3:08 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Red Gym. Cited person for Trespass/Remain after notice after locating them inside the Red Gym. Ban letter re-issued.
8:05 pm, Check Person, Chamberlin Hall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for obstruction due to providing false identification of name and DOB during investigation of closing-hours violation. In a previous UWPD contact, person was not able to be identified by fast-ID or investigating medical documents on this person.
10:55 pm, Check Person, N. Frances St. Contacted/Cited person for Trespass to Land - Remain After Notice after they were observed in the Fluno Center Lot despite having an active Wisconsin Union Ban.
11:46 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State & W. Gorham Streets. Cited person for wrong way driving and failing to obey traffic sign/signal. MPD handled OWI investigation and arrest for OWI. UWPD traffic stop citations to be mailed.
2:13 am, Other, E. Johnson & N. Butler Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 1st and Go Armed While intoxicated. Stopped/Cited for obscured tail lamps, recovered handgun upon initial contact, vehicle towed.

11:05 am, Damage to Property, Lot 67. Contacted person after Transportation Service reported they damaged the Lot 67 entry gate.
1:33 pm, Sexual Assault, Location Redacted. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.
5:58 pm, Information, McBurney Resource Center. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.
9:00 pm, Follow-up, Lot 17. Attempted to contact person after their detached license plate was turned in to the UWPD by Transportation Services.

2:23 am, Damage to Property, Henry Mall. Contacted person who reported overhead door D broke and fell as it was closing.
2:36 am, Drug Violation, Lot 80. Contacted person after Transportation Services reported a strong odor of gas in Lot 80, turned out to be person smoking marijuana in vehicle in lot.

5:27 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Traffic detail for MPD processional.
11:08 pm, Other, Regent Street & Orchard. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for running a solid red traffic control signal.
9:30 pm, Other, Park Street & Braxton Pl. Traffic Stop - No information provided at time of briefing release.

Daily Blotter for January 13th 2025

11:47 pm, Eluding, Monroe St. & Randall Ave. Attempted to stop vehicle for speeding, vehicle eluded and was last seen inbound Johnson near Frances Street, no pursuit. Information shared with surrounding jurisdictions and Deforest PD later stopped the same vehicle, arrested driver for unrelated charges and driver admitted to driving earlier and was charged with felony flee/elude. Deforest PD booked suspect into Dane County Jail without incident.
12:16 am, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted to contact persons whose wallet was turned into dispatch, property placed into safekeeping.

1:14 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Contacted person regarding stolen items from the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on.
7:08 pm, Information, UWPD. UWPD Dispatch received a non-emergency call from a person misusing a law enforcement telephone system with unnecessary commentary.

11:37 am, Criminal Damage, Vilas Hall. Contacted persons regarding broken hasp/hinge on temporary door on theater left of theater pit area.
1:22 pm, Graffiti, Ingraham Hall. 2nd-hand report from FP&M of graffiti on back of chair. Found 4 chairs with what appears to be pencil drawings on the back.
1:49 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Herrick Drive. Contacted person who backed UW snow plow into the back of a parked UW dumpster hauler truck.
1:57 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 60. Contacted person who reported another vehicle hit their vehicle while parked in Lot 60 near (first row).
2:06 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding claims of harassment and stalking by other persons within their work unit.
2:39 pm, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Contacted persons regarding welfare of another person experiencing mental health crisis.
8:42 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Milwaukee Street. Assisted MPD with drone request on a weapons violation call, disregard while enroute, no deployment.

9:15 am, Alarm, Residence Hall. Request For Assistance - Assisted staff with shell casings and facsimile firearms found in Room during student break. Housing will possess items until person returns from break to address.
3:54 pm, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they called UWPD wanting to talk about person who has left several unprofessional messages with various academic advisors and makes other people feel uncomfortable.
4:57 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 78. Contacted person in Lot 78 after a "Miron" construction barricade fell over denting their driver side door.
12:35 am, Operating While Intoxicated, N. Park & Spring Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for OWI 1st and Exceeding speed zones 11-15mph.
1:18 am, Check Person, Union South. Contacted person in the 1st floor entrance to Union South who was called in by staff for laying down in the entrance way and smoking a cigarette.

4:14 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted Journey Mental Health/Crisis regarding an emergency detention person experiencing mental health crisis.
3:17 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Request for Assistance - Patient requested search of their property due to fears of planted listening device.
