Daily Blotter for August 2nd 2026
- 8:31 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital.
- 3:13 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Wallet turned in by passerby. Owner unable to be contacted. Wallet entered into safekeeping.
- 12:20 am, Drug Violation, Hoofers. Contacted two persons after smelling odor of Marijuana. Both admitted to smoking marijuana and admitted to still be in possession of marijuana, released without incident.
Daily Blotter for August 1st 2026
- 10:04 am, Graffiti, Humanities. Located graffiti, graffiti removed by Physical Plant.
- 10:35 am, Information, Lot 76. Transportation services reported Person hit the lot 76 North gate arm at 4:35 PM on 7/30 causing damage.
- 3:00 pm, Theft/Larceny, Dejope. No information provided at time of briefing release.
- 11:12 pm, Bail Jumping, University Ave & Francis Street. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for Operating While Revoked (Criminal), Ignition Interlock Device Failure to Install, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping, and Felony Bail Jumping x2 after stopping Person for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign and Stopping or Standing on Crosswalk.
- 12:30 am, Lost Property, Memorial Union. Contacted Person after they wanted to report their passport lost about a week ago.
Daily Blotter for July 31st 2026
- 10:04 am, Damage to Property, Lot 8. Dispatched for damage to UW property. UW does not consent to anyone damaging the property, dollar amount of damage unknown.
- 10:38 am, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Rec Center. Person reported a possible theft of their bicycle. Bike entered into NCIC. VIP sent.
- 2:33 pm, Alarm, AOSS. Person reported two subject attempting to cover camera. Subjects left area, unable to make contact. Follow up to be conducted.
- 4:28 pm, Other, Vet Med South. Workers coming in and out of room.
- 7:02 pm, Check Person, Chemistry. Contacted MFD upon arrival who advised they are familiar with the subject and do not need police assistance. Patient transported.
- 8:53 pm, Check Person, AFCH. Contacted AFCH staff who stated person became verbally aggressive and was yelling at staff for almost three hours post care. Person decided to leave. Staff stated they would not let person return until the following day.
- 12:10 am, Resisting Arrest, Gordon Commons. Arrested/Transported person for Picnicking or Camping, Resisting Officer, Battery to Law Enforcement Officer, and Threats to Law Enforcement.
Daily Blotter for July 30th 2026
- 10:11 am, Alarm, Influenza Research. Contacted person, no issues observed.
- 10:24 am, Alarm, Vet Med South. Contacted person, no issues observed.
- 4:43 pm, Death Investigation, Lot 75. Responded to the scene and located person. Medical Examiner and Detective contacted to respond to scene for investigation, unfortunately person was declared deceased. UWPD officers worked to direct traffic and manage scene at hospital until the Medical Examiner cleared.
- 5:45 pm, Emergency Detention, UW ER. Contacted/took person into custody for Emergency Detention at hospital. Person was contacted by CARES earlier in the day, left UW Hospital, and returned multiple times, ultimately creating a disturbance at AFCH. Became aggressive with officers, was decentralized, and taken into custody for an ED and transported.
- 11:37 pm, Bail Jumping, W Johnson St\ East Campus Mall. Stopped/Cited person for Misd. Bail Jumping x 2, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of open intoxicants and Operating while revoked.
- 11:55 pm, Other, W Johnson St\ East Campus Mall. Contacted/Cited person for UW Code Depositing Human Waste while backing up an officer on a traffic stop.
- 12:07 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Off Hall. MFD arrived and transported an individual to Hospital.
- 2:00 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lot 17. Assisted MPD with arrest of person for following a person.
- 2:53 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent St\ Lathrop St. Arrested/Cited person for PAC 1st and Unsafe Lane Deviation.
- 3:30 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Midtown Station. Requested to assist MPD with drone overwatch.
Daily Blotter for July 29th 2026
- 6:13 am, Damage to Property, Engineering Research Building. Located source of alarm, observed water leaking from the 6th floor. Located source of leak. Observed standing, roughly 1-2 inches, due to a broken hose. Source of leak was turned off. Advised Building manager of situation. Will advise employee in room due to water damage to ceiling and personal property in the room. Photos taken. No further police action needed.
- 8:59 am, Information, University Hospital. Contacted staff who wanted to report personnel issues. Gave instructions on how to get a TRO and contacted HR staff to share information.
- 9:13 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Hospital. Assisted outside agency with case .
- 10:50 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted law enforcement agency with case.
- 12:51 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Cooper Hall. Arrived on scene after MFD had arrived and advised they were okay handling the call and did not need UWPD. Patient walked into ambulance, UWPD did not make contact with patient.
- 12:57 pm, Check Person, American Family Children's Hospital. Contacted individual after Hospital Security called advising individual was trying to gain access to the elevators that she was not cleared yet to go in. Suspect became loud and causing a verbal disturbance. Individual left the hospital on her own.
- 3:11 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Bay Drive. Assisted SHPD with medial transport.
- 7:10 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lake St. & Johnson St.. Assisted MPD with recovering stolen vehicle. Located vehicle and suspect at Lake St & Johnson St. Stopped vehicle and detained driver. Released driver to MPD.
Daily Blotter for July 28th 2026
- 12:35 pm, Burglary, Residence Hall. Contacted a student for a theft of approximately $200 dollars in cash. Did not give consent for anyone to take cash. Victim also had concerns of that staff was entering her room without her permission. Contacted Housing staff who shared that another staff member accidentally entered the victim's room to check/reset a fire alarm .
- 1:38 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Residence Hall . Contacted by individual who asked for a ride to UW ER. They were conveyed to UW ER without incident.
- 5:43 pm, Theft/Larceny, Eagle Heights. Contacted staff member who reported his bicycle taken. Victim did not have a serial number or photos of the bicycle. Bike valued between $50-$100. No suspect information. No consent/permission to take the bicycle. Area and surrounding area canvassed, unable to locate bicycle.
- 7:24 pm, Alarm, Bakke Rec. Contacted victim who reported his shoes were stolen while at Bakke. Victim went swimming and left their shoes inside the locker room. Upon return the shoes were gone. Approx $100 in loss. No cameras or suspect information.

- 6:04 pm, Other, American Family Children's Hospital. Contacted staff who advised PD was requested by UW Security after a patient was acting out. No issues upon PD arrival, and PD was no longer needed.
- 6:42 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, University Bay Dr/Campus. Stopped/Cited/Arrested suspect for OWI 1st, Unreasonable/Imprudent Speed, failure to obey traffic sign/signal. SFST's conducted impairment observed. Released to responsible party.
Daily Blotter for July 25th 2026
- 11:24 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Contacted by Maple Bluff PD reference assistance in downloading phones. Took possession of phones and signed search warrants.
- 2:47 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Camp Randall. Contacted person after they had fallen. They were evaluated and later transported.
- 1:48 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWER. Assisted DCSO with an ED in the UWER. Subject was sedated by medical staff. No force or restraints used by UWPD.
- 4:33 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWER. Active CFS.

- 1:22 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person reporting theft of meal ticket vouchers worth $50 from hoofers office.
- 9:32 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Contacted person regarding patient at local hospital from outside agency.
