Daily Blotter for June 18th 2024
- 5:30 am, Bail Jumping, Humanities Building. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for bail jumping and verbally warned for camping.
- 1:08 pm, Other, Braxton Place and Park St. Possession of Marijuana - Stopped/Cited person for exceeding posted speed limit (42/25). Odor of Marijuana detected. Three packages of THC products seized. Possession of THC citation issued.
- 5:46 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person regarding the theft of their bike from the bike racks on Langdon St. outside of the Memorial Union.
- 7:10 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 94. Located vehicle from MPD hit and run on Lake Street near University Avenue.
- 8:00 pm, Domestic, Location Redacted. Arrested person for simple battery/domestic violence, disorderly conduct/domestic violence, and felony bail jumping. Also arrested additional person for simple battery/domestic violence and disorderly conduct/domestic violence after parties were observed on camera battering each other in the elevator and causing a physical disturbance. Both parties transported and released to Dane County Jail without incident.
- 12:51 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location redacted. Detained and placed person into protective custody experiencing a mental health crisis.

- 11:35 pm, Damage to Property, Weeks Hall. Took photos of damage caused by a leak from a rubber pipe.

- 12:59 am, Warrant Served, Lot 9. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Dane County warrant and Misd. Bail Jumping. Cited for Dane County possession of THC.
- 2:44 am, Other, University Ave & N. Lake St. Traffic Stop - Stopped person for improper right turn and possession of open intoxicants.

- 10:30 am, Found Property, Lot 54. While checking the area, person approached with a cell phone they found on the ground between two parked vehicles as they walked by them.
- 11:25 am, Found Property, UWPD. Found wallet turned in with ID.
- 6:29 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Madison Fire transported person to local hospital for medical emergency.
- 6:29 pm, Other, UWPD. Contacted person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 8:41 pm, Emergency Detention, Local Hospital. Person placed into emergency detention and needing medical assistance.
- 11:51 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Sterling Hall. Contacted person who reported another person entered the northeast corner bathroom of Sterling Hall, through a window, at approximately 11:00pm.
- 1:12 am, Operating While Intoxicated, N. Bassett St. & University Ave. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party person for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, and fail to obey traffic sign (wrong way on a one way, reason for stop).
- 1:53 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Bassett Street. Contacted/Transported person needing medical assistance.

- 6:00 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Person transported to Detox who was seen face down on the sidewalk.
- 9:46 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75 Ramp. Contacted person after they reported their vehicle was struck by another vehicle as they merged into a parking ramp.
- 12:55 pm, Fraud, Lot 75. Contacted person who advised they had fraudulent charges on their credit card from UW Lot 75 on multiple days last month.
- 9:47 pm, Warrant Served, Regent & N. Brooks Streets. Stopped person operating vehicle for speeding 39 in 25 and following to close. Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for speeding and operating without driver’s license and taken into custody for Jefferson County OWI 2nd warrant.
- 11:10 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Johnson & N. Carroll Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI (1st), Probation hold, possession of Cocaine, Felony Bail Jumping, violate red traffic signal, operating while suspended and keep open intoxicants in motor vehicle. Initial traffic stop for red light violation.
- 11:10 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Private Security company called to report person was on the terrace after hours.
- 1:43 am, Other, University Ave. & N. Orchard Street. Traffic Stop - Cited person for red light violation and Operating While Suspended.

Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for speeding 42mph in a 25mph zone (reason for stop/citation), criminal OAR (issued citation), bail jumping (1 misdemeanor and 2 felony), P&P hold, and possession of Fentanyl. Verbally warned for possession of drug paraphernalia.
- 11:43 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 12:47 pm, Other, University Ave. & N. Midvale Blvd. Attempted to stop rider on white Kawasaki motorcycle.

- 2:14 pm, Theft/Larceny, Cooper Hall. Contacted person regarding theft of department purchasing card.
- 2:23 pm, Burglary, Highland Ave. While reviewing cameras related to other cases observed potential suspect, cases ongoing.
- 3:34 pm, Burglary, Moore Hall Horticulture. Contacted person regarding theft of red/black - Honda 2200i generator stolen from inside a locked room sometime between 6/7 and 6/10 at 1:00pm. 6/12.

- 7:25 pm, Criminal Damage, Wingra Springs Lot. Contacted person who reported their car was parked in the Wingra Springs lot today between 3:10 PM and 7:20 PM and was vandalized.

- 8:31 am, Bail Jumping, Memorial Union. Contacted/Arrested (Book and Release) person for Trespass Remain After Notice after Memorial Union staff reported finding them in the building them being served a ban letter.
- 10:57 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Emergency Room Assist - hospital emergency room went into red status following shooting with 2 victims in the City of Madison.

- 2:05 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Contacted person to facilitate blood draw for Marquette Co. Sheriff's Office and signed OWI Search Warrant received.
- 2:17 pm, Graffiti, Arboretum Buildings. Contacted persons after they reported finding anti-black and homophobic graffiti between the K4 and K5 trail heads.
- 6:40 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 12:08 am, Operating While Intoxicated, University Bay Drive. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect.
- 12:54 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, W Johnson Street. City of Madison Police responded to a shooting investigation with multiple victims. UWPD assisted with scene management and at local hospital.
