Daily Blotter for August 7th 2025
- 7:02 am, Damage to Property, Lot 60. Contacted person regarding a damaged window panel on the bus shelter to the east of Lot 76.
- 7:40 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Person taken into protective custody who was experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 12:59 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person reporting a bike theft.
- 1:28 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding unwanted contact from person coming into the building multiple times in the last three days. Investigation ongoing at this time.
- 3:08 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person who was riding a bicycle that was forced off the road by a vehicle driver who passed on the right side of the road while a vehicle was turning left causing the bicyclist to fall and injure themselves. MFD responded and transported them to a local hospital.
- 6:25 pm, Graffiti, Humanities Building. Purple and black graffiti observed on the northwest bus stop of Humanities.
- 6:39 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 16. Contacted person after they reported the rear passenger side window of their vehicle had been broken while parked within the lot.
- 9:44 pm, Graffiti, W. Dayton Street. Called person regarding graffiti on bus shelter north of W Dayton St.
- 11:12 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to health care facility who was experiencing mental health crisis.
- 11:18 pm, Bail Jumping, Chazen Muzeum. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person for misdemeanor bail jumping after they were observed at University Ave and East Campus Mall in violation of UW campus ban.
- 1:45 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person and learned that the alarm showed a pump was running. Checked area, found broken sprinkler in the ice making room. MFD assisted in shutting off the water.
Daily Blotter for August 6th 2025
- 11:16 am, Information, Camp Randall Stadium/UWPD. Information report was taken regarding someone who attended the Coldplay concert and was involved in an altercation over seating issues. Investigation from call, no citations issued.
- 1:06 pm, Information, Memorial Union. Contact from person via email regarding persons who entered the Union and were discovered by staff and were asked to leave the facility. Investigation ongoing with outside agency for identification of individuals.
- 2:05 pm, Theft/Larceny, Law Building. Called person for report of a theft of a noise machine taken from outside of an office.
- 10:12 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Pyle Center. Contacted/Cited person for Keep Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle – Driver, after observing an open bottle of alcohol within vehicle. Alcohol seized and disposed of.
- 10:23 pm, Graffiti, Engineering Centers Building. Located graffiti writing (in black paint) on bus shelter 105 to the north of the Engineering Centers Building.
- 11:24 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person after a report came through of them passed out inside residence hall. MFR transported to local hospital for detox and released to hospital staff.
- 2:20 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Nitty Gritty/Johnson Street. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Pedestrian Control Signs (Don't Walk) after they crossed the roadway toward a pedestrian signal limiting crossing before then re-entering and lingering in the roadway. One person was Verbally Warned for Resisting or Obstructing Officer (City) and Identification Card Violation (City) after presenting a false Illinois Driver License (ID seized/destroyed). Other person Cited for UAL 1st (City).

- 6:47 am, Graffiti, Lot 46. Located unintelligible white spray paint graffiti on both the lower level in the stairwell and also on the 5th floor elevator lobby floor.
- 7:23 am, Information, UWPD. Spoke with person regarding sensitive crime.
- 8:17 am, Burglary, Ingraham Hall. Person reported items stolen from the market.
- 9:21 am, Other, Arboretum. Suspicious Object - Person contacted who found a training grenade on the boardwalk. Area advised safe by Dane County Bomb Squad and Arboretum reopened to the public.
- 11:16 am, Graffiti, Elvehjem Museum. Illegible, black paint marker, in first stall of bathroom.
- 3:41 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Found items and contact made with owner who will pick up items at a later date. Items placed into safekeeping.
- 8:18 pm, Other, Grainger School of Business. Closing Hours Violations - Contacted persons after observing them liter on Library Mall before entering the building during its closed period. One person cited for UW Closing Hours - Building and Verbally Warned for Littering. Other person Verbally Warned for UW Closing Hours - Building and Littering.
- 10:19 pm, Graffiti, Lot 46. Located free art drawing of a walking human fox (in black marker) on a pillar on the 3rd level of Lot 46.
- 1:20 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Gilman Street. Contacted/Cited person for UAL 1st after they were yelling at their uber driver causing a disturbance in the middle of W Gilman St. Alcohol seized and disposed of, transported home.
- 3:35 am, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital Parking Ramp. Contacted/Arrested/Released with Citation at UWPD person for UW Disorderly Conduct after they caused a disturbance by cutting off, chasing after, and screaming at another person within the parking structure.

- 6:13 pm, Information, UWPD. Contacted person after they reported threatening messages from an unknown person after they demanded money in exchange for bitcoin.
- 11:00 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 29. Responded to Lot 29 for a vehicle accident with control arm pillar and vehicle was left unoccupied and blocking the exit, driver seen leaving the scene, was a rental through Zipcar and unable to obtain driver information through the rental company.

- 10:10 pm, Other, W. Johnson & N. Lake Streets. Stopped/Cited/Released person for criminal operating after revocation.
- 10:40 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they asked for help while seated at the bus stop. MFD transported to local hospital.
- 1:26 am, Found Property, Residence Hall. Received found property and placed into safekeeping until arrangements with owners for pick up can be made.

- 9:38 am, Fraud, Lot 75. Contacted Transportation Services after they were notified fake currency that was received at Lot 75 Booth #2 on 07/31/2025.
- 8:05 pm, Graffiti, Lot 36. Contacted person after reporting graffiti at the lower-level southeast stairwell and graffiti at the fifth level northwest elevator lobby.
- 8:52 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person as they attempted to leave local hospital emergency room and experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:04 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Assisted outside agency with a weapons violation at Wando’s bar.

- 10:44 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with a cell phone.
- 10:44 am, Found Property, UWPD/Picnic Point. Ring found at Picnic Point turned in found sometime last week, ring contains an inscription on the inside "MC TO MU 4/14/1962 made of 10% Platinum, ring appears to be a males wedding band.
- 10:48 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person found laying in the grass across the street from local hospital after being discharged from Emergency Room.
- 11:19 am, Other, Location Redacted. Identity Theft - Contacted person regarding potential identity theft, investigation ongoing at this time.
- 1:14 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing medical emergency, MFD transported to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 1:37 pm, Graffiti, Waisman Center. Responded to a report of graffiti on the door of bike locker door #36, unattached from the Waisman Center (northwest corner) near the bike path.
- 11:56 pm, Other, N. Frances & Langdon Street. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for failure to obey traffic sign. Cited for operating while suspended. Per P&P probation hold driver Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail. Contacted/Cited passenger for open alcohol container, released on scene. Vehicle parked with their consent in a legal parking space.
- 1:34 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person who appeared to be intoxicated and had a medical injury that needed MFD to transport to local hospital. No police assistance needed.
Daily Blotter for July 31st 2025
- 7:05 am, Other, McKay Center Lot. Suspicious Vehicle - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person for a probation hold placed by their Probation Agent for being in contact with person who has a no contact probation condition. Issued citation for 343.44(1)(a) no contact order.
- 4:47 pm, Fire, Education Building. Contacted Facility Manager after driver of a Double Tree Transit Van into fire sprinkler pipe and exit sign while attempting to enter the parking ramp, resulting in breaking the sprinkler head, discharging thousands of gallons of water into the parking ramp and disarticulating the exit sign. Flooding contained to parking ramp.
- 8:13 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 6. Contacted person who reported their vehicle was hit by a construction fence while parked in lot 6.
- 11:08 pm, Other, W. Johnson & Marion Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited/Released person after failing to stop for a solid red traffic signal. Verbally warned for going the wrong way on Johnson St.
- 10:59 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Warrant Served - Contacted person for having a warrant for failure to appear for a disorder conduct charge as they were being transported to a local hospital during contact. UWPD to be contacted once person is medically cleared to be released from the local hospital to be transported to Dane County Jail.

- 8:46 am, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Contacted person at Union South regarding a missing mug that was on display in the art gallery located inside of Union South, and was of value.
- 10:08 am, Other, Local Hospital. Request For Assistance - Spoke with outside agency Probation and Parole agent regarding parents visiting patient at local hospital regarding care of said patient. Investigation ongoing at this time.
- 4:16 pm, Check Person, Local Hospital. Arrested person on a DOC warrant without incident; transported to Dane County Jail without incident. Took additional person into custody for interview and released without incident.
- 11:21 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Transported to local hospital person for UAL 1st (City Ordinance) after being flagged down by a passerby regarding them collapsing.
- 1:19 am, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital. Cited person for UWS Disorderly Conduct for striking local hospital staff.
- 3:28 am, Disorderly Conduct, Fluno Center. Contacted/Cited person for Trespass to Land-Remain After Notice after they returned to the building despite being escorted out by Police less than 30 minutes prior. Person warned they would be transported to DCJ if they returned again.

- 7:26 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted person who witnessed a motor vehicle accident in Lot 75.
- 10:15 am, Criminal Damage, Lot 76. Contacted person regarding damage to their vehicle and not sure when it happened and may have occurred while parked in Lot 76.
- 10:54 am, Information, UWPD. Staff member forwarded an email received by the general email box regarding concerning content in email, no additional information provided.
- 1:58 pm, Fraud, Arboretum. Persons reported credit card thefts from their vehicles within the same time-frame on the same day.
- 2:44 pm, Theft/Larceny, Law Building. Contacted person who reported theft of a computer.
- 2:45 pm, Battery, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding being spit on by a random person who was eventually contacted and issued UW 18 Code Disorderly Conduct citation.
- 1:31 am, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person requesting to be let into their apartment.
