Daily Blotter for April 10th 2026
- 11:07 am, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:51 pm, Graffiti, Education Building. Located graffiti on a table in the North Plaza called in by physical plant.
- 6:15 pm, Disorderly Conduct, UWPD. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person after they walked into the UWPD lobby and caused a disturbance. Found to have FTA support warrants and new DC charges.
- 5:00 pm, Found Property, East Campus Mall & W. Johnson Street. Person turned in wallet at UWPD during Operation Safe Crossing and owner will pick up at a later date, wallet placed into safekeeping.
- 12:42 am, Check Person, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for incapacitation due to alcohol, will be cited for UAL 1st.
- 1:07 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Placed into PC and MFR transported them to local hospital for incapacitation due to alcohol, will be cited for UAL.
- 1:17 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they were found in lobby needing medical assistance, MFR transported to local hospital, citations to be issued at a later date.
- 1:47 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Memorial Union. Cited person for UW closing hours-building after staff found them in the Union after hours. Citation issued and explained, P&P will be contacted if it continues.

- 8:34 am, Theft/Larceny, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted person who reported their headphones stolen from the locker room.
- 10:35 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 10:51 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 1:39 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Transported person to local hospital experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:33 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted persons regarding vehicle that was damaged while parked in the lot.
- 8:30 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted outside agency with OWI MV v pedestrian crash, MFR transported to local hospital.
- 12:04 am, Check Person, Humanities Building. Contacted/Cited person for possession of alcohol 1st., verbally warned for trespassing after being seen climbing the scaffolding by Humanities Building.
- 12:24 am, Warrant Served, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person due to outstanding warrants after being discharged from local hospital.

- 8:12 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Follow up for previous case, contacted person regarding ongoing investigation.
- 10:18 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:25 pm, Graffiti, Lot 6. Contacted person who located Graffiti scratched/written on 1st floor bathroom.
- 7:39 pm, Graffiti, Lot 6. Located graffiti in the SW Stairwell several different locations in that stairwell.
- 8:22 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Memorial Union. Contacted person who reported person who has current campus ban in their facility and needing assistance to get them to leave. Person was gone upon arrival and to be cited for trespass to land after notice during next contact.
- 3:11 am, Damage to Property, Lot 75. Contact with person who drove vehicle into large dumpster when exiting lot, dumpster not in normal path of travel.

- 9:03 am, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Contacted/Verbally warned persons for disorderly conduct after an incident in the parking lot.
- 10:01 am, Drug Violation, Educational Sciences. Contacted person after a metal pipe was located on the 13th floor near the north roof access.
- 11:12 am, Theft/Larceny, Lot 29. Contacted person who informed UWPD that they located their bike that they thought was stolen.
- 1:13 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted by person regarding a suspicious substance located in lab.
- 2:46 pm, Other, Location Redacted. Contacted person laying back on the sidewalk just south of local hospital main entrance where they just walked away from, assisted with transport back to hospital.
- 3:00 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported to local hospital no police assistance needed.
- 4:07 pm, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding a sensitive crime, staff aware of incident and Community Officer notified of incident.
- 4:30 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 75. Contacted person who reported their vehicle was struck in Lot 75.
- 5:25 pm, Check Person, State & Lake Streets. Contacted person due to erratic behavior, released/verbally warned for disorderly conduct.
- 5:28 pm, Theft/Larceny, Grainger Hall. Contacted person reported their black E-Scooter was stolen from the bike racks on the north side of Grainger Hall.
- 6:06 pm, Drug Violation, Marshall Court. Traffic Stop – Stopped driver after marijuana odor/smoke was coming from the vehicle while stopped next to it at a red light. Verbally warned, released.
- 10:13 pm, Found Property, Computer Science Building. Security located a gray duffel bag with misc. personal items inside, no identification inside bag, placed into safekeeping.
- 2:17 am, Theft/Larceny, Local Hospital. Person reported money was taken from their purse which was left in the breakroom.
- 3:10 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted outside agency with a subject during mental health crisis.

- 9:31 am, Damage to Property, Engineering Centers. Damage located on the basement, first, mezzanine and 2nd level of ECB as a result of a water leak.
- 3:25 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Contacted person after hospital security contacted UWPD after persons friend contacted them stating friend was needing assistance due to a mental health crisis.
- 2:24 am, Other, University Ave. & Franklin Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for operating with expired registration, and cited for operating after revoked due to alcohol, vehicle left parked in a legal parking spot.

- 4:02 pm, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Unlawful use of a telephone and disorderly conduct.
- 11:36 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, Langdon Ave & Henry Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped vehicle for seatbelt violation and illegal riding. Subsequently arresting/Citing driver for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, verbally warned for open intoxicants in the vehicle and possession of THC. Cited passenger for seatbelt violation, illegal riding, open intoxicants. Driver booked into Dane County Jail without incident on OWI hold, vehicle towed to Schmidt’s, passenger released.
- 1:11 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Johnson St. & Wisconsin Ave. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Arrested/Transported to DCJ driver for Improper Left Turn, Operating W/O Required Lamps Lighted During Hours of Darkness, and Operating While Impaired (1st).
- 3:32 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, N. Frances Street. Assisted outside agency with an OWI investigation after two persons were found unconscious/sleeping in a running car. Outside agency arrested driver for OWI 1st, UWPD detained passenger for failing to follow directions/officer safety.

- 12:27 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted/checked on person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 7:32 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to local hospital for medical care.
- 12:44 am, Other, N. Frances Street & University Ave. Traffic Stop – Contacted driver/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, and improper left turn (reason for stop).
- 1:20 am, Other, Spring & N. Park Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for Operating W/O Valid License, Verbally Warned for Open Intoxicants in motor vehicle. Also Verbally Warned passenger for open intoxicants in motor vehicle.
- 1:44 am, Information, Local Hospital. Local hospital staff reported possible crime that occurred in the city of Madison, reported to local agency as crime occurred off campus.
- 2:10 am, Drug Violation, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for abusing hazardous substances and a probation hold after EMS was called for them while working and needing medical assistance.

- 9:03 am, Found Property, Integrative Biology. Placed a e-scooter in Safekeeping after it had not been removed from the building despite being tagged for removal.
- 12:22 am, Information, Eagle Heights. Reference information report only.
- 1:57 am, Other, S. Park Street. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for speed violation, Verbally Warned for operating without rear lights after observing them fail to maintain lane and possession of THC, cited for OWI 1st, possession open intoxicant in motor vehicle.

- 12:12 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Main door, caused by unknown person entering.
- 1:58 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 6:08 pm, Damage to Property, Computer Science & Statistics. Contacted UWPD Security Officer who reported damage to a water fountain on the 5th floor. Damage to carpets and ceiling tiles to the massive amount of water that was being released from the fountain. Servpro, elevator repair and plumbing called in to attend to the damage.
- 8:02 pm, Theft/Larceny, UWPD/Monroe Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after they stole a UWPD Security Officer's electric scooter from the front of the UWPD building, tracked to W. Washington using scooters GPS, arrested for theft of moveable property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

- 8:06 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Disregard alarms, moving equipment in.
- 11:18 am, Found Property, Memorial Union. Contacted by Memorial Union Staff after two bags containing various cell phones and other items were turned in to the information desk, found by staff, owner of bags returned to claim items, no evidence of any crime, property returned to owner.
- 11:41 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with two cell phone examinations.
- 11:42 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with one cell phone examination.
- 5:03 pm, Found Property, Local Hospital/UWPD. Wallet turned in with DL, voicemail and text messages sent that property was at UWPD for pick up.
- 5:34 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 63. Located driver of vehicle after they got out of their car and pushed the gate arm in Lot 63 up so they could leave without paying. Driver of vehicle cited for UWS vandalism and bypass a security device. Transportation Services still evaluating damage at time of briefing release.
- 8:07 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted persons after an altercation occurred at local hospital. Escorted both parties out of hospital and asked to leave for the night and not to return.
- 4:37 am, Other, Fish Hatchery Rd & Cedar. Traffic stop – no additional information provided prior to briefing release.
