Daily Blotter for March 27th 2026
- 11:12 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with two cell phone examinations.
- 3:14 pm, Other, UWPD. Contacted person regarding emails they received from former employee, nothing harassing but requesting/persisting with a meeting and making them feel uncomfortable.
- 6:48 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Called person after they reported their necklace stolen from the Nicholas Recreation Center on Thursday.
- 6:56 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Contacted person via phone after their wallet was turned into UWPD, placed into safekeeping until they are able to come to UWPD to pick up.
- 9:46 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 10:27 pm, Other, E. Johnson & N. Hamilton Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped vehicle for imprudent speed, suspended plates and failure to yield to pedestrian. Driver cited for criminal operating after revocation, failure to install IID, and failure to yield to pedestrian. Verbally warned for Non-registration of auto, suspended plates, and speed. Vehicle legally parked, driver released without incident.
- 11:38 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted persons for UAL, citations to be emailed.
- 12:22 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Residence Hall. Assisted outside agency with clearing residence hall during outside agency pursuit of suspect went into residence hall, suspect fled out, scene cleared.
- 1:43 am, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted to call person to return their WI DL, placed into safekeeping until they are able to pick up.
Daily Blotter for March 26th 2026
- 6:42 am, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted by persons regarding former employee displaying stalking behaviors. Due to displaying elements of stalking former employee was asked to leave and will be receiving a stalking letter warning them of such behavior and if they are found near another UW Campus building, they will be cited.
- 8:54 am, Theft/Larceny, Discovery Building. Contacted person stating their laptop was missing and had contacted staff at the Discovery Building but it had not been placed in lost and found, person later called and reported the facility manager had returned their laptop and was returned to person, nothing missing or damaged.
- 11:42 am, Damage to Property, Residence Hall. Contacted person to report that multiple screens, over time have been removed from the lower-level windows. Appears to have happened to multiple windows, and may be students doing this after getting locked out as screens appear to be unlocked. Screens to be replaced with ones that are more secure.
- 2:33 pm, Damage to Property, Mechanical Engineering. Person reported their bike was struck which was parked in a legal spot near the entrance to Lot 17. Video review shows person runs over the bike and leaves the area. Information exchanged between parties, will follow up next week.
- 6:48 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Lakeshore Path/Memorial Union. Contacted/Cited person for Disorderly Conduct (UW Code) after yelling at and accusing another person for destroying the earth and other disorganized comments while walking on the bike path near a Residence Hall.
- 7:57 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 9:46 pm, Warrant Served, Extension Building. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after being seen within the UW Campus ban area. Arrested for six bench warrants out of Dane County.
- 1:04 am, Check Person, Location Redacted. Flagged down by person needing medical assistance and transported to local hospital.
- 3:08 am, Other, University Ave. & N. Brooks St. Traffic Stop of moped – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for possession of stolen property (M), Operating motor vehicle without owner’s consent (F), Obstruction (F), warrant (x3) after being seen riding moped against traffic on University Ave, then onto a sidewalk. Moped was stolen out of Lake Mills (RO contacted and will pick up).

- 8:48 am, Check Person, Union South. Contacted/Cited person for unauthorized picnicking or camping after observing them sleeping within a sleeping bag and blankets on the North side of Union South. Citation given and explained and person left without incident.
- 12:18 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Out of state agency requested verification of patient receiving medical care at local hospital.
- 12:32 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person who reported the theft of their wallet while sitting on the steps to the lake between the Lake St boat ramp and Goodspeed Pier.
- 12:34 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFD transported patient to local hospital for medical treatment, no need for police assistance.
- 12:57 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Person set off alarm during training tour, no police assistance needed.
- 3:21 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Library Mall. Citations to be issued to person for bail jump misdemeanor, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, UW assaultive behavior, citations at UWPD for delivery next time in contact with person.

- 4:36 pm, Other, Bascom Hall. Contacted person reported they needed assistance with locating and walking to their vehicle after meeting at Bascom Hall.
- 10:22 pm, Other, S. Park Street. Weapons Violation - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail three persons for Carry Concealed Weapon and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping after contact made with vehicle after observing suspicious and evasive behavior.

- 10:48 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Assisted outside agency with arrest and transport of suspect for domestic disorderly conduct 72 hour no-contact enforced.
- 11:02 am, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person after their bike was tolen from the Nicholas Recreation Center.
- 11:12 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person needing medical assistance, MFR transported to local hospital.
- 1:41 pm, Warrant Served, Union South. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect on active DOC warrant when they refused to leave Union South and caused a disturbance. Investigation ongoing due to items found in suspects possession upon arrest not belonging to them.
- 2:50 pm, Other, Picnic Point. Contacted person who found an old rusty grenade in the woods approximately 20ft off of a trail. Upon arrival area secured and Dane County Hazardous Device Unit called. *UPDATE*** Dane Co HDU able to confirm device was not real and a practice device.
- 3:38 pm, Disorderly Conduct, MSC. Contacted person who reported unwanted contact from another person dating back to 2024. Investigation ongoing.
- 9:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person after they reported their DoorDash order was stolen from Residence Hall. Delivery person took order after it was “delivered and photographed”. Investigation ongoing.
- 5:42 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, W. Main Street. Assisted outside agency with locating person hiding in a bush, arrested by MPD on multiple domestic charges.

- 11:08 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 12:57 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, person intoxicated and fell, no police assistance needed.
- 1:27 pm, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding sensitive crime.
- 5:33 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 7:07 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person reporting their items were stolen while playing basketball at Nicholas Rec Center. While investigating, person received phone call from subject that accidentally took the wrong pants, items returned to owner at another local agency.
- 8:07 pm, Found Property, Humanities Building. Property turned in that were located outside of Humanities building. Contact attempts made and unable to contact the owner of the property, placed into safekeeping until able to pick up.
- 10:21 pm, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Located stolen e-scooter in the possession of person after it was reported stolen and taken from Union South. No charges pursued, scooter found and returned to owner.
- 10:55 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person who reported their laundry was stolen from dryer 44 in the residence hall laundry room.

- 2:56 am, Damage to Property, Ian's Pizza. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for disorderly conduct after they punched their friend in the face, causing the friend to lose consciousness and their nose to bleed. Victim refused all battery charges, refused victim information and refused EMS.
- 4:12 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lifesaving Station/Langdon Street. Assisted outside agency with arresting two suspects following an incident on Langdon St. earlier in the day where weapons were involved, one person was arrested and transported to Dane County Jail for resisting, outside agency handling investigation.
- 4:43 am, Other, Park & Dayton Streets. Contacted person trying to locate another person who they were unable to locate at the moment. Person was located later in the day.
- 9:07 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Park & Dayton Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted/Cited for red light violation, possession of THC Dane County ordinance violation, verbally warned for drug paraphernalia.
- 10:33 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 83. Contact made with person who reported damage to their vehicle while parked in Lot 83, witness left note on vehicle with additional information.
- 2:30 pm, Fire, WID. Contacted person who reported trash can NW corner was on fire.
- 4:08 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person due to disturbances and potential mental health crisis.
- 6:45 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted person who reported they turned over a larger sum of money when they arrived at a local hospital, than what they had stated was returned to them upon discharge. Investigation shows amount returned to them upon discharge was correct amount received upon admit several days prior.
- 11:24 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Regent & Mills Streets. Assisted outside agency with disturbance at Regent St and N Mill St, contact with one person who identified suspect, probable cause for Disorderly Conduct given to outside agency who arrested suspect with additional charges.
- 1:24 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Broom & Johnson Street. Traffic Stop - Arrested/Cited driver for OWI 2nd, PAC 2nd and stopping/standing in crosswalk. Gave explicit instructions to not drive vehicle 5 minutes prior to stop.
- 1:58 am, Check Person, Residence Hall. Contacted person in residence hall after house fellows requested detox evaluation, person intoxicated not incapacitated, no citations issued, person over 21.
- 2:51 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited for UAL 1st after being found by persons passed out in the bathroom. Verbally Warned for fake ID/Confiscated destroyed on scene, another person on scene was also verbally warned for UAL.

- 5:39 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person needed medical assistance, MFR transported patient to local hospital.
- 8:58 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person who confirmed the door log showed only authorized people in the room.
- 1:02 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Observatory Dr. & N. Park Street. Contacted person regarding truck made contact with rock wall on Observatory Dr. at N. Park St, damage to vehicle once located was a flat tire.
- 2:10 pm, Damage to Property, Morgridge Hall. Contacted person reported that sometime before Feb 25th the printer in a specific room was damaged. Repair tech stated damage consistent with sitting on printer and frame had been bent.
- 7:47 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Residence Hall. Detox Evaluation - Contacted person inside Residence Hall after being found outside by passersby, incapacitated due to alcohol, cited for UAL 1st.
- 1:47 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Cited person for UAL 1st, verbally warned for possess THC, cite to be delivered later.
- 1:50 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person being transported to local hospital by MFR due to incapacitation due to alcohol, will be cited for UAL 1st.
Daily Blotter for March 20th 2026
- 8:53 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Observatory Dr. & Highland Ave. Contacted persons after a semi and trailer collided with the traffic light on the southeast corner of Highland Ave. at Observatory Dr., causing the light to be knocked over and the truck also collided with a POV causing a crack in the rear driver's side brake light and dent in the rear driver's side fender. Both parties exchanged information related to the accident.
- 11:18 am, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person regarding theft of $75-100 from her purse.
- 12:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person regarding their jacket with dorm keys in it stolen out of classroom.
- 1:44 pm, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding concerning email, no action at this time, report for information purposes only.
- 3:26 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Contacted person at Badger Market after they reported another person said threatening things to them, PC to arrest other person for Disorderly Conduct as they were gone upon arrival.
- 1:12 am, Disorderly Conduct, University Ave. & W. Gilman St. Contacted person after observing them throw snow/ice at a passing vehicle on Gilman Street. Person detained and verbally warned for disorderly conduct.
- 2:06 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Johnson & N. Carroll Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for OWI 4th, non-registration and wrong way driving, vehicle left legally parked.
- 2:09 am, Operating While Intoxicated, University Ave. & N. Brooks Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for no headlights/taillights and imprudent speed, cited for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, required lamps during hours of darkness.
- 2:35 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Gorham St. & N. Broom St. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for Inattentive Driving and Operating While Impaired (1st) after they were observed crashing into the rear of a parked vehicle.

- 11:48 am, Graffiti, Wendt. Located graffiti, consist of five tag markings written in black purple and white paint stick.
- 1:28 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with a cell phone examination.
- 12:49 pm, Damage to Property, Fluno Center. Contacted Fluno Center staff regarding damage to the loading dock on the west side of the building.
- 2:00 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with a cell phone examination.
- 3:19 pm, Damage to Property, Fluno Center. Contacted Fluno Center Staff regarding damage to the loading dock on the west side of the building on the left side of the loading dock. Metal frame surrounding loading dock door struck and bent at the bottom where it mounts to facade.
- 6:33 pm, Check Person, Vilas Hall. Cited person for possession of alcohol on UW lands after they were reported sleeping in the vestibule of the Vilas Hall Theater. Person previously verbally warned for camping on UW lands, released without issue.
- 7:10 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Linden & Babcock Drives. Traffic Stop – Contacted drivers individually after one driver hit the other vehicle and fled scene. Contacted/cited driver who fled for hit and run of an occupied vehicle, failure to report an accident to police, operating while suspended, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and unlawful U turn.

- 10:20 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, Buckeye Lot. Stopped/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Improper Left Turn, Operating While Impaired (1st), and Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (1).
