- 1:49 am, Bail Jumping, Location Redacted. Contacted person who needed medical assistance due and detox evaluation.
- 8:53 am, Follow-up, Eagle Heights. Contacted person who reported damage to the driver-side rear door of their vehicle.
- 9:23 am, Check Person, Waisman Center. Contacted person after receiving a call of them sleeping on campus property and potentially needing medical assistance.
- 10:21 am, Theft/Larceny, Smith Hall. Contacted person regarding another person’s e-scooter being stolen from the bike racks outside of Smith Hall along East Campus Mall.
- 1:32 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Called person regarding another person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:48 pm, Follow-up, Location Redacted. Arrested person for misdemeanor theft and Felony Bail Jumping x5 from Dane County Case after being identified as a suspect in stolen bike cases on campus. Also detained persons parent while arresting other party while recovering bikes and returning to proper owners in the neighborhood, BCycle at MATC and recovered additional stolen e-bikes found on property. Investigation is ongoing at this time.

- 1:41 pm, Other, Location Redacted. Suspicious Package - Person reported a suspicious package for another employee who is currently not available.
- 6:35 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.

- 7:46 am, Graffiti, Vilas Hall. Contacted Physical Plant in regarding graffiti on the stall door to restroom in Vilas Hall.
- 8:47 am, Fire, Biochemistry Building. Water flow alarm in penthouse.
- 9:42 am, Damage to Property, Lowell Center. Person accidentally broke the sprinkler head while cleaning rooms causing large amount of water to be released on that floor affecting a number of rooms on the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st floor directly below where water was released on the 3rd floor.
- 2:28 pm, Check Person, Russell Labs. Contacted person regarding suspicious person in Russell Lab.
- 3:02 pm, Harassment, Location Redacted. Person contacted UWPD requesting UWPD contact the Business Integrity Office at local hospital regarding potential stalking/harassment case that has already reported to local agency.
- 8:35 pm, Theft/Larceny, Bakke Recreation Center. Interviewed person regarding stolen e-bike from south side of the Bakke, suspect located on video, investigation ongoing.

- 6:11 am, Check Person, Primate Center. Contacted person sleeping on the sidewalk near Primate Center after someone called in concerned for their well-being.
- 6:37 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 46. Transportation Services reported damaged fire alarm pull station, damage appears to be caused by water in conduit that completely rusted out panel, Transportation Services coordinating repair.

- 5:57 am, Bail Jumping, Library Mall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping after locating them within the State Street Langdon Ban Area contrary to their conditions of release in Dane County Cases. Also Verbally Warned for UW Possession of Marijuana, UW Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and UW Alcohol Beverages.
- 7:42 am, Damage to Property, Stoval Building. Contacted person regarding leak in building.
- 1:01 pm, Other, Lake Mendota. LRAS - Lake Rescue - Tower observed a single kayak and a single SUP in high waves, rescued both and brought safely to shore.
- 2:17 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted persons regarding overheating alarm.
- 9:09 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Memorial Union. Contacted person who reported another person making inappropriate comments and was scared/disturbed, investigation ongoing.

- 7:43 am, Other, Grainger Hall. Closing Hours Violation - Contacted/Verbally Warned person for being in Grainger Hall during closing hours.
- 9:45 am, Graffiti, Chamberlain Hall. Physical Plant reported some vandalism at Chamberlin Hall in the northeast stairwell.
- 1:39 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 7. Contacted/Verbally Warned Driver for inattentive driving due to damage to Lot 7 exit gate arm.
- 3:42 pm, Graffiti, Chazen Museum. Contacted UW Security officer regarding a poster glued to the pillar on the Southwest outside corner of the Chazen Museum.
- 6:13 pm, Other, Lake Safety Tower. Report number pulled in error.
- 6:18 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted person who reported damage to their vehicle while it was parked in Lot 75 parking ramp.
- 12:45 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Spring & N. Park Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 1st, PAC 1st after their passenger continued to open the front passenger door while the vehicle was on the roadway and in motion. Passenger transported to hotel, vehicle left parked legally on street.
- 1:05 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they were seen on their hands and knees on the sidewalk bleeding from the face, placed into protective custody and transported to local hospital for medical treatment.
- 3:19 am, Drug Violation, Memorial Library. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Unauthorized Picnicking and Camping after finding them asleep with camping materials and for UW Possession of Marijuana and UW Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

- 7:28 am, Check Person, Gordon Commons. Contacted person and issued a written warning for smoking in UW Madison Gordon Commons. Provided homelessness resources. Verbally warned not to return to Gordon Commons.
- 9:30 am, Fire, Wendt Commons. Fire reported from Lithium polymer battery in room 312. Multiple batteries transported to north entrance of building.
- 12:25 pm, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding them being harassed online through a volunteer organization they belong to, investigation ongoing.
- 11:43 pm, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Detained/Placed into Protective Custody/Emergency Detention person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 2:39 am, Drug Violation, N. Lake & W. Johnson Streets. Stopped/Verbally warned driver for Improper Display of Registration (No Plates), county possession of drug possession of THC. Vehicle legally parked and driver released to responsible party.

- 11:27 pm, Other, Alumni House. Attempt To Locate - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect on previous Probably Cause for theft, and added possession of drug paraphernalia after finding a marijuana pipe within their backpack.
- 11:43 pm, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.

- 8:35 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Highland Ave. & Observatory Drive. Contacted person who did not realize that they caused damage.
- 1:43 pm, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Spoke with person whose item was stole when left in the Marquee Theater at Union South.
- 2:40 pm, Fire, Dairy Cattle Research Center. Contacted MFR stated fire was caused by an electrical issue.
- 3:37 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Person wanted to report concerning statements regarding minor attending day camp. Case turned over to MPD due to jurisdiction, nothing occurred on UW Campus.
- 5:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Limnology Building. Contacted person reporting persons unlocked ebike was stolen from the north side of Limnology while attending event at Hoofer's.
Daily Blotter for June 17th 2025
- 9:30 am, Found Property, Observatory Drive & Charter Street. Backpack/property/passport belonging to person was released after found earlier in the day.
- 1:25 pm, Criminal Damage, Lot 17. Vehicle drove through gate arm causing damage, reported to Transportation Services, vehicle owner located and cited for liability hit and run causing property damage.
- 3:14 pm, Found Property, Chazen Muzeum. Backpack found by Chazen dumpsters and turned in to Security staff.
- 6:43 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital. Contacted staff member of local hospital reporting person made threatening remarks towards them. Person of interest escorted off property, no charges or citations issued, person left without incident.
- 8:33 pm, Drug Violation, Johnson & State Streets. Stopped/Verbally warned driver for improper left turn.
- 11:04 pm, Other, Johnson & Broom Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for wrong way driving (one way) and Operating Without License. Verbally Warned all parties in vehicle for possession of THC.
- 11:44 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Johnson & Broom Streets. Stopped/Detained/Verbally Warned/Released driver for conditions requiring reduced speed after striking and decapitating a large traffic barrel directly adjacent to another UWPD traffic contact.
- 12:25 am, Other, University Ave & Orchard Street. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for Operating While Revoked, Verbally Warned for expired registration and possession of THC which was in plain view during traffic stop.
- 12:46 am, Other, Pickney & Johnson Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Cited driver for Operating with Suspended Registration for OAR (forfeiture) and failure to install IID, Verbally Warned for suspended registration. Vehicle legally parked, driver released without incident.
