- 10:05 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person who advised staff set off alarm while moving items.
- 1:11 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Located vehicle that was struck by another vehicle from hit and run accident.
- 11:59 pm, Other, Lot 91. Liquor Law Violation - Contacted/Cited person for Keep Open Intoxicants in MV - Driver and cited passengers for Possess Open Intoxicants in MV- Passenger after observing open intoxicants in vehicle.
- 1:14 am, Drug Violation, Dayton Street & East Campus Mall. Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for County Possession of THC after observing a marijuana blunt and cannabis flower packaging within drivers vehicle.
- 2:05 am, Bail Jumping, Memorial Union. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping (violation of UW campus ban bail condition) after they were contacted for possession of alcohol on UW lands.
- 2:24 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Lot 91. Contacted/Verbally Warned driver for Keep Open Intoxicants in MV - Driver and Possession of THC (County) after observing open intoxicants and marijuana within Vehicle. Passenger cited for Possess Open Intoxicants in MV - Passenger.
- 3:01 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Johnson & Lake Streets. Stopped/Arrested/Released to responsible party with citations driver for Unlawful U-Turn - Unsafe, Disregard Official Traffic Sign (One way), Non-Registration of Auto, and Operating While Impaired 1st.
Daily Blotter for August 14th 2025
- 6:22 am, Other, Mills & Erin Streets. Stopped/Cited/Released driver for criminal OAR and IID tampering. Verbally Warned for failure to yield for pedestrian (reason for stop). Vehicle parked in valid parking spot.
- 9:51 am, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Contacted person who left their bike on the Langdon side of the Memorial Union was missing.
- 2:11 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 20. Located damage to payment machine at gate exit.
- 5:04 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 20. Pulled in error.

- 9:47 am, Disorderly Conduct, East Campus Mall/University Ave. Contacted/Cited person after causing a disturbance, made a swiping lunge towards a person and verbal threats while walking past person on East Campus Mall.
- 7:32 pm, Criminal Damage, University Ave. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported by Shorewood Hills Police Department/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for criminal damage to property and entry into a locked vehicle after taking a large rock and throwing it at the driver side window of their vehicle. Suspect also cited for disorderly conduct after gesturing to throw a rock at another vehicle threatening to break other vehicles windows.
- 9:27 pm, Graffiti, Lot 2. Photographed Graffiti found in Lot 2 on two separate dumpsters.
- 11:48 pm, Bail Jumping, Memorial Library. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Unauthorized Picnicking or Camping. One person was Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping after being found within the State Street and Langdon ban area contrary to the conditions of their release regarding a current case in Dane County Court. Other person also Verbally Warned for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Daily Blotter for August 12th 2025
- 7:35 am, Information, Lot 7. Contact with person who reported while parking their vehicle the parking ramp's clearance sign that hangs from the ceiling was hanging lower than it normally does and hit the top of their vehicle causing some scratches/damage. Directed person to contact UW Risk Management to file a claim with the University for damages caused to their vehicle.
- 3:42 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. Assisted outside agency who requested a drone for a missing person.

- 7:10 am, Damage to Property, Rennebohm Hall. Main roof drainage pipe broke dumping water into the northwest side of the entire 1st floor due to heavy rains.
- 8:13 pm, Information, Location Redacted. Spoke with person regarding sensitive crime.

- 9:20 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave & N. Breeze Terrace. Assisted MPD with person who was being disruptive on Madison Mini-Marathon course.
- 12:28 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Detained/Cited/Released person for UW theft.

- 6:44 am, Theft/Larceny, EHS. Responded for report of abandoned backpack near loading dock. Follow Up: contents of backpack located except for one item.
- 7:18 pm, Theft/Larceny, Local Hospital. Contacted person who reported having money taken from their property while inside a local hospital emergency room.
- 9:04 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Cancelled Enroute.
- 9:48 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Released person after they fell into the water. Person transported to local hospital by MFR, citation to be issued for Possession of Alcohol on UW Lands.
- 10:35 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Mifflin Street. Requested by MPD for drone stemming from weapons violation. Canceled upon arrival.
- 1:04 am, Check Person, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
- 1:11 am, Other, Local Hospital. UWPD assisted outside agency and hospital security with medical emergency arrival.

- 6:24 am, Emergency Detention, Local Hospital. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 7:35 am, Graffiti, Lot 6. Responded to a report of graffiti in a stairwell within Lot 6.
- 10:15 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Request from outside agency to assist in review of UW Milestone cameras for a suspect vehicle, investigation ongoing.
- 12:12 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Contact with person regarding found property and person will retrieve items when they return to Madison at a later date. Items placed into safekeeping.
- 12:26 pm, Theft/Larceny, Vet Med South. Contacted person regarding theft of items over the last two weeks. Investigation ongoing.
- 3:42 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for battery to a Police Officer x2, resisting, bail jumping x2 and theft x2, after observing them in front of the Memorial Union, and recognizing them as a suspect in a theft case. Stolen bike returned to victim.
- 11:02 pm, Other, W. Johnson St & East Campus Mall. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for speeding 39/25. Driver provided a false name, probable cause search conducted on vehicle yielded Marijuana/THC, MDMA for which driver arrested for possession of MDMA, possession of THC, obstruction, probation violation, and cited for operating without valid license and speeding. Vehicle released to passenger who was registered owner.

- 7:02 am, Damage to Property, Lot 60. Contacted person regarding a damaged window panel on the bus shelter to the east of Lot 76.
- 7:40 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Person taken into protective custody who was experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 12:59 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person reporting a bike theft.
- 1:28 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding unwanted contact from person coming into the building multiple times in the last three days. Investigation ongoing at this time.
- 3:08 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person who was riding a bicycle that was forced off the road by a vehicle driver who passed on the right side of the road while a vehicle was turning left causing the bicyclist to fall and injure themselves. MFD responded and transported them to a local hospital.
- 6:25 pm, Graffiti, Humanities Building. Purple and black graffiti observed on the northwest bus stop of Humanities.
- 6:39 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 16. Contacted person after they reported the rear passenger side window of their vehicle had been broken while parked within the lot.
- 9:44 pm, Graffiti, W. Dayton Street. Called person regarding graffiti on bus shelter north of W Dayton St.
- 11:12 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to health care facility who was experiencing mental health crisis.
- 11:18 pm, Bail Jumping, Chazen Muzeum. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail person for misdemeanor bail jumping after they were observed at University Ave and East Campus Mall in violation of UW campus ban.
- 1:45 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person and learned that the alarm showed a pump was running. Checked area, found broken sprinkler in the ice making room. MFD assisted in shutting off the water.
Daily Blotter for August 6th 2025
- 11:16 am, Information, Camp Randall Stadium/UWPD. Information report was taken regarding someone who attended the Coldplay concert and was involved in an altercation over seating issues. Investigation from call, no citations issued.
- 1:06 pm, Information, Memorial Union. Contact from person via email regarding persons who entered the Union and were discovered by staff and were asked to leave the facility. Investigation ongoing with outside agency for identification of individuals.
- 2:05 pm, Theft/Larceny, Law Building. Called person for report of a theft of a noise machine taken from outside of an office.
- 10:12 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Pyle Center. Contacted/Cited person for Keep Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle – Driver, after observing an open bottle of alcohol within vehicle. Alcohol seized and disposed of.
- 10:23 pm, Graffiti, Engineering Centers Building. Located graffiti writing (in black paint) on bus shelter 105 to the north of the Engineering Centers Building.
- 11:24 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person after a report came through of them passed out inside residence hall. MFR transported to local hospital for detox and released to hospital staff.
- 2:20 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Nitty Gritty/Johnson Street. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for Pedestrian Control Signs (Don't Walk) after they crossed the roadway toward a pedestrian signal limiting crossing before then re-entering and lingering in the roadway. One person was Verbally Warned for Resisting or Obstructing Officer (City) and Identification Card Violation (City) after presenting a false Illinois Driver License (ID seized/destroyed). Other person Cited for UAL 1st (City).
