Daily Blotter for March 2nd 2025
- 6:57 am, Check Person, Lot 87. Contacted person who reported a verbal argument with another person who parked in Lot 87 which they believed had no permission, wanted interaction documented, nothing further.
- 9:53 am, Theft/Larceny, Kohl Center. Contacted person who reported the theft of their phone while at the Kohl Center for WIAA, and noticed the phone missing when they arrived at the Fluno Center.
- 10:33 am, Criminal Damage, Ogg Hall. Responded to Ogg Hall for second floor North West fire door that was kicked in and is no longer operational (won’t close).
- 12:13 pm, Theft/Larceny, Discovery Building. Contacted/Cited person for theft after they stole an item from a special event.
- 12:47 pm, Information, Martin Street Lot. Camp site was located approximately 1800 yards into the Arboretum. The site consisted of a hammock, multiple torn tarps, frozen cloths, random trash, prescription medications belonging to the owner, and a sleeping bag, items placed into safekeeping.
- 5:14 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted to contact person after UWPD Security found their DL at the Chazen Museum of Art, item placed into safekeeping.
- 11:06 pm, Drug Violation, E. Johnson & N. Pinckney Streets . Stopped person for improper left turn. Vehicle searched due to open intoxicants. Seized two containers of alcohol and small amount of marijuana. Cited driver for possession of open intoxicants and operating while suspended, verbally warned for possession of MJ/THC and improper left turn.
- 1:45 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Housefellows reported person vomiting in the bathroom, citation to be issued at a later date.

- 4:59 am, Check Person, W. Dayton & N. Orchard Streets . Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for possession of heroin and a probation violation.
- 6:44 am, Graffiti, Social Sciences. Responded to reports of graffiti in the 5th floor men's restroom (room 5211) of the building.
- 9:06 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Alarm caused by staff.
- 11:28 am, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person who reported a dress was stolen from outside their room.
- 5:35 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Gordon Commons. Contacted person who reported they backed their vehicle into the front grill of another parked vehicle in the basketball courts of Sellery Hall.
- 5:41 pm, Information, Vilas Hall. Contacted person who reported a suspicious package sent to PBS at Vilas Hall which was addressed to someone not in their building. Package determined to be non-hazardous or harmful, discarded properly.
- 5:52 pm, Information, Local Hospital. Contacted person and hospital staff regarding patients – investigation ongoing at this time.
- 10:27 pm, Drug Violation, Lot 16. Contacted/verbal warning to person for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, after they were observed filling up their marijuana bong with water inside his vehicle in UW Lot 16.
- 11:37 pm, Check Person, Residence Hall. Contacted, cited person for UAL 1st and Obstruction after they were was reported by bystanders as unconscious in the first-floor bathroom, person also sustained facial and head injuries, transported to local hospital for evaluation and detox transport.
- 12:11 am, Resisting Arrest, Residence Hall. Contacted person when house fellows tried to stop them from leaving when observed with friends who were also stopped.
- 3:35 am, Other, Lot 7/Grainger Hall. 911 Open Line - Contacted person for pressing e-phone button in Lot 7, found to be intoxicated, after losing their phone and did not know how to get back to their air bnb. Cited for damaging Lot 7 gate arm and given ride to Hampton Inn to get a hotel room.

- 11:26 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:45 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:49 pm, Found Property, Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Property found, attempts to locate unsuccessful and items placed into safe keeping.
- 5:02 pm, Theft/Larceny, Fleet Garage. Contacted person who reported headlights stolen from their bicycle which was locked to the bike rack on the Charter Street side of the Fleet Garage.
- 5:31 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 63. Contacted person who reported their items stolen from an unlocked vehicle which was parked in Lot 63 in front of the ER entrance.
- 8:31 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited person after complaints were made of them wandering the building and making residents feel uncomfortable.
- 11:46 pm, Damage to Property, Breese Terrace and University Ave. Observed a glass panel of the UW metro bus stop south of Engineering Centers Building shattered.
- 4:59 am, Check Person, W. Dayton & N. Orchard Streets. Incident ongoing at time of briefing release.

- 9:43 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR did not need assistance.
- 10:11 am, Theft/Larceny, Eagle Heights. Contacted person who reported their child’s bicycle stolen.
- 1:23 pm, Information, UWPD. Met with person at UWPD regarding an incident that occurred off campus at local bar.
- 5:46 pm, Check Person, N. Charter Street. Contacted person after an occupant of a nearby office reported they were yelling and upset.
- 10:33 pm, Eluding, Regent & N. Park Streets. Attempted to stop vehicle for speeding 37/25. Vehicle eluded, no pursuit. Follow up with registered owner to be conducted.
- 10:36 pm, Other, University Ave. & Schmitt Place. Traffic Stop - Verbally warned person for speed and possession of THC.
- 12:07 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person who was incapacitated in the bathroom, MFR transported to local hospital and person will be cited for UAL 1st to be delivered at a later date.
- 12:10 am, Operating While Intoxicated, University Ave & N. Lake Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI 1st and driving against traffic (one way).
- 1:02 am, Other, S. Park Street. Traffic Stop - Stopped person for speeding 37/25, cited for OAR and failure to install IID. Verbally warned for speeding.
- 5:49 am, Other, Location Redacted. Request For Assistance - Contacted person regarding phone call that was received this morning asking questions about the private nature of business in the building that made the person uncomfortable.

- 8:45 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Highland & Observatory Aves. Contacted person whose horse trailer clipped the traffic signal pole at University/Observatory. Will work with City regarding damage.
- 10:32 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Responded to medical emergency and patient transported to local hospital.
- 2:28 pm, Lost Property, UWPD. Person reported losing wallet on 2/21/25.
- 9:20 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Contacted/Cited person for trespass to land remain after notice.
- 1:53 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Mills & Conklin. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for OWI 1st, unreasonable and imprudent speed, unsafe lane deviation and possession of open intoxicants.

- 8:17 am, Battery, Local Hospital. Person reported being battered by hospital patient.
- 11:17 am, Theft/Larceny, Computer Science. Contacted by telephone person who reported their sweater taken without consent.
- 11:21 am, Information, Lot 40. Person reported several incidents with a vehicle on campus wanting incidents noted.
- 1:01 pm, Theft/Larceny, Physical Plant. Contacted by phone person who reported the possible theft of an industrial anvil.
- 1:16 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lot 67. Verbally warned person for theft after piggybacking out of Lot 67 multiple times.
- 4:30 pm, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Threat investigation ongoing at this time.
- 7:32 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person who left their personal items inside locker room at the Nic and had several contents stolen.
- 11:16 pm, Other, Park & Regent Streets. Stopped person for speeding and operating with suspended registration. Seized small amount of marijuana and one vape device. Cited for possession of THC, verbally warned for other traffic offenses.
- 11:40 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Person at local hospital found three small baggies of a white substance on the bed of a patient in the DOC area, items tested positive for methamphetamine. Items placed into UWPD evidence.
- 1:31 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person who called for medical assistance but no transported by EMS, UWPD transported to local hospital.
Daily Blotter for February 24th 2025
- 12:04 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they injured their ankle on court #3 and transported to local hospital for treatment.
- 12:47 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Memorial Union staff called to report person who has an active ban was observed walking through the building. Person was asked to leave prior to staff calling UWPD and they did leave right away and was no longer on scene when UWPD arrived.
- 2:48 pm, Battery, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for battery to health care facility worker.
- 9:47 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Protective custody of patient who attempted locking themself in the ER public restroom and needing medical assistance.
- 9:57 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University & Randall Ave. Assisted with motorist who was called in needing medical assistance. MFR assisted on scene.
- 2:17 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Spring & Park Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party person for OWI 1st, PAC 1st, Driving against traffic (one way) and wrong way driving on divided highway.

- 9:47 pm, Other, Regent & Coyne. Verbally warned person for unreasonable and imprudent speed. Cited passenger for possesses open intoxicants.
- 12:19 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person while in contact with MFR as they were intoxicated and vomiting. Person transported to local hospital, citation for UAL 1st to be delivered at later date.
- 1:18 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Cited person for UAL 1st after they were vomiting in a friend's room.
- 1:34 am, Other, Lot 44. Traffic Stop - Verbally warned person for improper display of registration and improper left turn.
- 2:41 am, Resisting Arrest, Lot 16. Foot pursuit/arrested/cited/released persons for UW resist after running lights of UWPD squad when they were seen entering squad.

- 9:59 am, Graffiti, Sterling Hall. Contacted person who reported finding graffiti in bathroom stall.
- 11:56 am, Warrant Served, Local Hospital. Contacted person for a disturbance reported by hospital security but person left prior to UWPD arrival. Person located and transported to Dane County Jail on active warrant without incident.
- 2:33 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR advised this is a medical issue and no need for police assistance.
- 3:31 pm, Other, Office of Admissions. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.

- 7:44 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 29. Contacted person who was operating a DOA vehicle and did not put the vehicle into park when they exited vehicle, and it backed into a post in parking ramp, scraping and denting vehicle's front passenger-side door and quarter panel.
- 12:21 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing medical emergency, MFR transported to local hospital.

- 11:37 am, Theft/Larceny, Engineering Hall. Contacted person who reported their prescription glasses were stolen.
- 1:38 pm, Criminal Damage, Chadbourne Hall. Contacted person who reported damage to a shower curtain burned in three places.
- 1:44 pm, Theft/Larceny, Witte Hall. Contacted person who reported their food delivery was stolen from main entrance area of Witte Hall.
- 2:23 pm, Damage to Property, UW Credit Union. Contacted person who thought the Fleet work van was damaged at Union South where they park overnight – additional investigation ongoing.
- 3:13 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Request For Assistance - Contacted/Detained person after hospital security requested assistance in detaining patient after becoming uncooperative with staff.
- 11:03 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited persons for UAL 1st after observing the pair consuming alcoholic beverages.
