Daily Blotter for May 6th 2026
- 6:42 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, W. Johnson & N. Brooks Streets. ***UPDATE*** from previous day’s briefing sheet – Stopped out at the intersection of N. Brooks St. and W. Johnson St. for a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. One vehicle ran multiple red lights before rear ending one vehicle and then crashing into a pole, assisted outside agency with scene stabilization and report.
- 9:37 pm, Graffiti, Lot 6. ***UPDATE*** from previous day’s briefing sheet – Transportation Services reported graffiti in southeast stairwell.
- 7:08 am, Found Property, HSLC. Ebling library staff turned over a driver’s license, unable to contact subject, placed into property for safekeeping.
- 9:10 am, Found Property, Memorial Library. Located wallet inside College Library on the 3rd floor west side and able to return wallet to owner.
- 9:42 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Engineering Drive. Contacted person being struck by the construction crane at the engineering build site, as it was driving past on Engineering Dr.
- 10:28 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 11:21 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 12:03 pm, Information, Residence Hall. Contacted person regarding staff member taking items from SWAP bin which is strictly for IT equipment/personnel to put in and take out from said bin, informational report taken, no police action at this time due to no crime committed.
- 3:25 am, Fire, University Houses. Arrived on scene to an active dumpster fire. Utilized squad fire extinguisher until MFR engine arrived on scene, putting out the rest of the fire. Contacted callers no foul play observed. Nothing inside the dumpster to indicate foul play. Waste and Recycling notified for disposal of old dumpster.

- 11:20 am, Information, Location Redacted. Contacted person who reported injury but was refusing MFR treatment, informational purposes only.
- 11:46 am, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted/de-escalated patient during mental health crisis.
- 1:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Engineering Research Building. Contacted person who advised that for the last couple of weeks, small items of garbage have been added to their dumpster at Engineering Research Building, large items over the weekend were added, cameras to be reviewed. Investigation ongoing at this time.
- 1:25 pm, Graffiti, Engineering Dr. & Randall Ave. Located graffiti tag written in black marker and a scribble mark in green marker.
- 3:13 pm, Found Property, W. Mifflin Street. Backpack turned in after it was found by passerby on Mifflin St.
- 3:16 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Far West Fields. Cited person for UW Code DC after pushing another person off their bike after verbal altercation.
- 8:54 pm, Found Property, Crew House. Found blue iPhone turned into UWPD dispatch. Unable to contact any possible owner.
- 11:10 pm, Follow-up, Park Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail motorcycle drivers for Fleeing/Eluding stemming from previous cases. Both motorcycles towed/sent to Schmidt’s Auto. Investigation ongoing.
- 3:17 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person requesting assistance but refused MFR transport.

- 5:52 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted by local hospital regarding patient experiencing mental health crisis.
- 8:47 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Assisted outside agency with warrant blood draw for patient who was transported to local hospital.
- 11:44 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Regent Street. Assisted outside agency regarding a person at the Regent St McDonalds seen loading a firearm, conceal it, then leave, located person nearby, detained and was later arrested by outside agency.

- 2:43 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, University Ave. & N. Lake Street. Assisted outside agency after weapons call of a motorcyclist displaying a handgun at drivers while heading outbound University Ave. at Lake St, located & stopped motorcyclist, recovered weapon, outside agency handling case & citations.
- 5:16 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted contact at Veterans Transitional Housing, contacted an individual who stated residents don't stay there on the weekends, left business card for person to obtain personal belongings at UWPD this week.
- 8:51 pm, Information, Campus concert facility. Contacted person regarding concerns about a concert patron.
- 10:56 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient in PC to local hospital after being found lying on the ground incapacitated due to alcohol.
- 11:01 pm, Damage to Property, Near Gordon Dining Hall. Located damage to the glass on one of the bus stops on Lake St. between W. Johnson St. and Dayton St. glass looks to be shattered by an object thrown at the window.
- 12:25 am, Information, Residence Hall. Contacted person after they were reported to be causing a disturbance and breaking things in their dorm room, transported to local hospital for injuries.
- 12:34 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent Street. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for OWI 3rd, Lane deviation, fail to install IID, criminal OAR, verbally warned for speed.

- 8:31 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted person regarding their car being "sideswiped" in Lot 75.
- 10:04 am, Other, University Ave. & Shorewood Blvd. Traffic Stop – Stopped driver, verbally warned driving without required lamps and expired registration.
- 4:42 pm, Emergency Detention, Location Redacted. Contacted Dane County Crisis regarding person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:33 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 46. Contacted person after they struck the E entry gate of Lot 46 while entering the lot and failed to report it to anyone. Driver cited for Hit and Run on property adjacent to highway.
- 5:36 pm, Theft/Larceny, Chadbourne Hall. Contacted person who reported their bike beach cruiser, unknown model, unknown SN, $100, was taken without their permission after they parked it in the bike racks on the east side of Chadbourne Hall.
- 11:31 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted to call person after their wallet was turned in by two good Samaritans. Wallet entered into property for safe keeping.
- 2:47 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, John Nolen Dr. & W. Beltline Hwy. Drone AOA for outside agency to help locate two suspects who fled from a crash following a pursuit. Drone located both subjects laying in the marsh, K9 team was able to locate and apprehend them without issue.

- 9:55 am, Criminal Damage, Computer Science. Person reporting two rooms had been broken into and vent panels near knobs missing.
- 12:55 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Contacted/Transported person to local hospital after fall from bike for medical treatment.

- 10:52 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Transported person to local hospital for incapacitation due to alcohol. Citation for UAL 1st to be delivered on 5/1, verbally warned for Fake ID.

- 1:40 pm, Other, Watertown. K9 Deployment - ***UPDATE*** Responded to Watertown High School after mutual aid request from Watertown PD ref. a bomb threat that was called into the school. K9 sweep was done. No issues located.
- 10:29 am, Other, University Bay Drive & Overlook Terrace. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Cited driver of vehicle for speeding, operating without valid license & non-registration of automobile, driver released on scene.
- 10:59 am, Theft/Larceny, Grainger Hall. Contacted person who reported airpods stolen.
- 12:54 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted and transported person to local hospital for medical treatment of injury.

- 8:48 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 76. Contacted/Cited driver for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign after striking another vehicle when they did not stop at the stop sign as they exited Lot 60 onto Walnut Street toward UBD.
- 11:00 pm, Bail Jumping, S. Park Street & Fish Hatchery Road. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Stopped/Cited driver for speeding, OAR, failure to install IID, and misdemeanor bail jumping.
- 11:15 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State & W. Mifflin Streets. Assisted outside agency in the arrest of suspect for obstructing following a physical disturbance on State Street.
- 11:46 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, N. Lake Streets. Assisted outside agency in locating and arresting suspect for attempted entry into a locked vehicle after they were trying car doors.
- 12:00 am, Bail Jumping, Emerson & Lowell Streets. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for operating with suspended registration, misdemeanor bail jumping, possession of drug paraphernalia, open intoxicants.
- 12:36 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Vintage Spirits & Grill. Arrested/Cited/Released person for Municipal UAL, and verbally warned for resisting.
- 2:35 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.

- 10:47 am, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted persons regarding harassing emails that were making them feel uncomfortable, investigation ongoing and ban letter to follow.
- 11:51 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with one cell phone examination.
- 10:09 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Local Hospital . Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for criminal trespass of a facility and resisting after they were escorted off hospital property and returned to cause a disturbance by smoking and climbing on statues in the parking lot.
Daily Blotter for April 27th 2026
- 7:44 am, Theft/Larceny, Humanities Building. Contacted person who advised their E-Bike stolen from west side of Humanities .
- 1:46 pm, Fire, Lot 75. 1st floor Elevator lobby pull station pulled by person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 3:03 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported to local hospital due to intoxication from alcohol .
- 6:32 pm, Other, Chazen Museum. Depositing Human Waste - Person observed depositing waste in Chazen Loading dock behind dumpsters by WPD security. Will attempt to ID person, investigation ongoing.
- 6:49 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Mifflin & Bassett Streets. UWPD mounted assisted Outside agency mounted and Outside agency with dispersing multiple crowds following the conclusion of the Mifflin St. Block Party. Officers dispersed crowds to further prevent additional fights from occurring. Mounted officers were later requested to respond to State St. for further crowd management. Assisted with crowd control, fights, arrests and a foot pursuit of an individual who ditched a bag with a firearm in it. Crowds pushed using verbals but no physical contact needed to be made.
- 3:15 am, Domestic, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after seeing someone getting pushed on the sidewalk. During review of the situation one person was arrested for probation violation and possession of a firearm by a felon.
