Daily Blotter for March 14th 2026
- 9:58 am, Check Person, Memorial Library. Contacted person regarding another person in the facility with an active campus ban. Person left facility prior to police arriving, citations for trespassing and Disorderly.
- 10:02 am, Graffiti, Humanities Building. Graffiti reported on the southwest corner of the third floor of Humanities, by UW-Madison Physical Plant.
- 10:44 am, Threat Assessment, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding another person receiving harassing messages, person to contact UWPD for additional assistance regarding investigation.
- 1:53 pm, Theft/Larceny, Bakke Recreation Center. Person reported gaming mouse stolen.
- 4:23 pm, Battery, Local Hospital. Contacted person reported being punched by patient while assistance staff, person declined to pursue criminal charges.
- 7:14 pm, Fraud, UWPD. Contacted person who walked into UWPD to report being defrauded out of a large sum of money on Facebook marketplace.
- 12:18 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Transported to local hospital for alcohol incapacitation for UAL 1st after being found in bathroom at Memorial Union.
- 12:00 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted01. MFR transported person to local hospital due to alcohol incapacitation after they were found not fully responsive, citations will be issued at a later date.
- 1:22 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Discovery Building. Contacted person after a passerby reported a fight in progress involving three persons. Located one person who was injured but advised it was from fall and others confirmed it was from a fall, and that person will be cited for UAL 1st and possession of false ID card.
- 1:42 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Elm & Observatory Drives. Cited person for UAL 1st after they were reported being passed out at a bus stop on Observatory Dr.
- 1:43 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital due to alcohol incapacitation, and cited for Muni UAL 2nd and Muni false ID 1st.

- 5:30 am, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they observed a sensitive crime occur.
- 1:15 pm, Follow-up, E. Washington Ave. No information provided at time of briefing release.
- 1:56 pm, Graffiti, Psychology Building. No information provided at time of briefing release.
- 8:16 pm, Information, LaBahn Arena. Contacted person regarding binder of photos of Badger Women's Hockey team players with parents he was requesting players to sign. Previous interaction with person due to NIL rules binder and signatures were discussed, binder confiscated and person escorted out without issue.
- 9:52 pm, Other, Packers Ave & N. 6th Street. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted driver for speeding, cited for Unreasonable and Imprudent speed and Non-Reg of Auto.
- 11:52 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Lot 2. Contacted/Verbally Warned person for open container on street, cited for Municipal UAL.
- 2:20 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Camp Randall Stadium. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspects for Trespass to construction site and resisting after initial reports of multiple people attempting to enter Camp Randall by jumping Gate 10’s fence.

- 7:06 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Marsh Drive & Highland Ave. Contacted person after they reported being struck by a vehicle while crossing Highland Ave at Marsh Dr.
- 8:35 am, Other, Location Redacted. Stopped/Contacted driver for what appeared to be a medical incident, turned into a mental health crisis.
- 8:57 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Responded to an alarm and made contact with staff who was gowned up inside the lab.
- 2:48 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing medical emergency, MFR arrived, declined transport to local hospital, persons will perform wellness checks throughout the day.
- 11:02 pm, Drug Violation, N. Frances & W. Dayton Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for operating without headlights on and Verbally Warned for possession of THC, confiscated/destroyed.

- 6:46 pm, Information, Lot 20. Update from previous days briefing sheet: Contacted person after they reported someone entered their locked vehicle and went through it – nothing stolen from the vehicle.
- 8:18 am, Damage to Property, Lot 67. Contacted driver of vehicle after running into gate arm when entering lot 67 when they hit the gas pedal vs the break accidentally and struck the gate arm.
- 8:50 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Union South. Contacted and Verbally Warned person for being in the union without membership. Person contacted earlier in the day when found sleeping on second floor outside Varsity Hall and told they could stay if they purchase food, for which they did not, returned, hanging around and was asked to leave.
- 12:17 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Person contacted experiencing mental health crisis due.
- 8:26 pm, Bail Jumping, Lot 7. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for misdemeanor Bail Jumping x4 after Transportation Services called in a suspicious person looking into cars in Lot 7.
- 10:05 pm, Lost Property, Education Building. Placed persons item in safekeeping after they mistakenly left it behind in class room wouldn't be back on campus/in Madison for several days to retrieve it.
- 1:02 am, Other, Residence Hall. Contacted persons after someone had pointed a blue laser at Police from the eighth floor. One person admitted to owning the laser pointer while the other confessed to pointing the laser out a window - but not at Police - along with others. Citations to be delivered once it is determined who was responsible for pointing the laser at Police for Intentionally Direct Laser Pointer at Law Enforcement Officer (along with possible referral to Community Restorative Court) pending follow up with remaining suspects. Laser pointer seized.
- 5:23 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, N Henry Street. Assisted outside agency with clearing US Courthouse after a duress alarm was pushed.

- 7:50 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed .
- 12:43 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Cell phone turned into dispatch, emailed owner to retrieve from UWPD.
- 1:00 pm, Graffiti, Ingraham Hall. Arrived at Ingraham Hall, but the room was being used at the time, will investigate amount/location of graffiti after class is released.
- 1:42 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contact with person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:01 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted persons after a force door alarm.
- 5:09 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. PT transported before UWPD arrival.
- 5:54 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted staff in the room, door is swelling due to outside temp change causing issues with door closing.
- 6:19 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Local hospital. Received TTY from outside agency to assist with blood draw for patient at local hospital emergency room.
- 6:27 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding alarm to be disregarded until further notice.
- 9:20 pm, Damage to Property, Lot 75. Contacted Transportation Services who reported witnessing on camera damage to a bollard at the entrance of lot 75. Driver is known and spoke with TS staff afterwards, TS to put in maintenance request.
- 12:00 am, Drug Violation, Limnology Dock. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for smoking marijuana on the Limnology boat dock.
- 1:25 am, Operating While Intoxicated, UWPD. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Arrested/Released to responsible party driver for Operating While Suspended, Failure to Apply for WI License Within 60 Days, Operating While Impaired (1st), and Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (1st), vehicle left legally parked.

- 3:41 am, Other, Johnson & Butler Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for Resisting, OWI 1st, Red Traffic Light violation and county possession of THC. Stopped for red light violation.
- 4:08 pm, Warrant Served, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for warrants regarding charges out of Rock County, including L&L/DC/Resist Obstruct/additional mental health concerns.
- 7:04 pm, Eluding, Charter & Johnson Streets. Attempted to stop two motorcycles for not displaying registration tags. Both were are a part of a large group of motorcyclists. Both motorcycles fled at a high rate of speed, South on N Charter St from University Ave, no pursuit.
- 7:40 pm, Drug Violation, Braxton & Park Streets. Traffic Stop – Stopped/Contacted/Cited/Arrested passenger/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail for DOC warrant, jail requested med clear prior, transported to local hospital, driver cited for speed released on criminal THC citation.
- 9:09 pm, Other, Location Redacted. Assisted in arranging a mediation session between persons after another party requested assistance in navigating the escalating situation between the two parties.
- 11:36 pm, Drug Violation, MGE. Stopped/Verbally Warned persons for Possession of THC after locating the group smoking marijuana, seized and disposed of on scene.

- 2:51 pm, Theft/Larceny, Local Hospital. Person reported their bike stolen from rack near ED entrance.
- 10:10 pm, Other, Spruce & Fish Hatchery Road. Traffic Stop – Stopped driver and verbally warned for operating w/o valid license and possession of marijuana, vehicle legally parked.
- 1:13 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Memorial Union. Contacted person after observing them laying on the sidewalk, cited for UAL 1st.
- 3:16 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Regent & Brooks Streets. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for FYR to Pedestrian Crossing Controlled Intersection, Operating While Suspended, Operating While Impaired (1st), and Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (1st).

- 9:57 am, Damage to Property, Eagle Heights. Notified by staff about damage to a University-owned sign.
- 10:59 am, Found Property, Elvehjem Museum. Items found turned into UWPD while on call at Elvehjem, property in safekeeping until they can pick up.
- 11:30 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital experiencing mental health crisis.
- 2:23 pm, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Person reported theft of backpack containing school supplies.
- 3:26 pm, Bail Jumping, Humanities Building. Cited person for misdemeanor bail jumping and misdemeanor resisting.
- 6:07 pm, Battery, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited person after staff reported they had been yelling profanities and threw an Ensure bottle at them, will be cited for UW Disorderly Conduct and battery to health care staff.
- 6:29 pm, Follow-up, UWPD. Contacted persons during follow up to case from previous days arrest, citations will be issued for resisting/obstructing.
- 8:19 pm, Other, Discovery Center. Report # pulled in error.
- 11:06 pm, Drug Violation, Porter Boathouse. Contacted persons for smoking Marijuana behind the Porter Boathouse memorial sign, all verbally warned for possession of marijuana.
- 12:24 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited person for UAL 1st.
- 1:38 am, Bail Jumping, State & N. Lake Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after observing them outside the Memorial Library with active campus ban, cited for bail jumping (x3) and resisting.
- 3:07 am, Operating While Intoxicated, Campus Drive & N. Randall Ave. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for OWI 1st, Inattentive driving and PAC 1st.
Daily Blotter for March 6th 2026
- 3:59 am, Information, Local Hospital. Requested by Medical Examiner to contact local staff regarding person who fell.
- 11:45 am, Theft/Larceny, SWAP. Contacted persons regarding another person who was scraping metal from computers that was supposed to be recycled.
- 11:50 am, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Contacted person regarding a sensitive crime.
- 11:56 am, Battery, Local Hospital. Person being treated at local hospital who was in DOC custody threw bodily waste at DOC employees, follow up to be conducted.
- 12:05 pm, Theft/Larceny, Morgridge Hall. Contacted person regarding a potential theft of laptop, but was found and picked up buy another lab assistant.
- 3:35 pm, Theft/Larceny, WIMR. Person initially reported wallet and contents stolen from 5th floor, but contacted UWPD and found wallet.
- 3:46 pm, Damage to Property, Chadbourne Hall. Contacted person who reported the door broken off dryer 8 in the laundry room.
- 4:28 pm, Theft/Larceny, Lowell Center. Contacted person who reported their bike stolen from the bike racks outside of Lowell Center.
- 6:40 pm, Fire, Smith Hall. Heavy smoke located in room 3173, MFR arrived on scene and located burnt property inside the room. MFR aired/cleared the room and hallway.
- 8:00 pm, Drug Violation, W. Johnson & N. Frances Streets. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail driver for parole violation to not have internet-capable devices, drugs and not to be out after 8pm, verbally warned for FYR left turn x2, FYR to pedestrian in controlled crosswalk, and DL violation.
- 11:11 pm, Resisting Arrest, Highland & University Ave. Traffic Stop – Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released on foot suspect after a brief foot pursuit, citations for resist/obstruct (county) and UAL 1st.
- 11:29 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person after persons reported them ill in the bathroom, evaluated by MFR for intoxication not incapacitation, cited for UAL 1st.
- 3:24 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.

- 8:31 am, Other, UWPD. Assisted outside agency with a cell phone examination.
- 10:58 am, Graffiti, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted person for graffiti located in exterior bathroom on west side of the building.
- 11:58 am, Found Property, HSLC. HSLC turned over found property that they have had for 2 years, items categorized and placed into property for safekeeping.
- 6:32 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported person to local hospital for medical treatment.
- 11:16 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State Street. Assisted outside agency with a substantial battery that occurred on State St at N Frances near State St Brats. Contacted the victim and witnesses to obtain suspect information before MPD took over investigation.
- 1:21 am, Drug Violation, Residence Hall. Arrested/released suspect after finding mushrooms, which showed a presumptive positive test for psilocybin, in their residence hall room, given verbally warning for possession of paraphernalia, and fake ID. Roommate Cited and contacted for possession of paraphernalia, verbally warned for UAL.
- 2:49 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Local Hospital. Transported person to local hospital for medical attention.
