Contacted persons for possession of marijuana (County Ordinance), possession of false ID, and trespassing on railroad after observing them standing on a railroad car with a lit joint and smelling the odor of marijuana (joint/false ID’s confiscated & destroyed on scene).
- 12:47 am, Drug Violation, SW Pedestrian Path & Kohl Center. Contacted/Verbally Warned person for Trespassing on Railroad and County Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after locating them asleep on the railroad tracks with a glass marijuana pipe in plain view (pipe confiscated and disposed of).

- 4:08 pm, Fraud, UWPD. Contacted person who was reporting they were being scammed out of $100 after contacting a person for “head shots”.

- 11:00 pm, Other, Center For Healthy Minds. UW Code Violations - Contacted/Cited person for Unauthorized Picnicking or Camping after locating them sleep in a folding chair and fully covered by a blanket, previously warned for the same behavior in the same location.

- 9:45 am, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Person reported their cell phone holder was stolen off their bike.
- 10:47 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 1:00 pm, Information, Memorial Library. Contacted persons in Quiet Study Area in basement after they were causing problems for staff, individuals left area without issue.

One person was arrested/released with criminal citation for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping after being found within the State Street and Langdon Ban Area contrary to the conditions of their release on a Dane County Case, and other person Verbally Warned for UW Possession of THC.

- 12:38 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Person called to report their bike had been stolen from the Ogg Bike Racks.

- 7:59 am, Found Property, Sellery Hall. Contacted person who found a bike in the bushes near the main north entrance of Sellery Hall, bike secured in property.
- 5:54 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 82. Contacted person after they struck another person’s vehicle and left note on vehicle along with calling UWPD to report accident.
- 7:01 pm, Other, University Ave & Breeze Terrace. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released after they were stopped for OAR 1st (criminal) after he was stopped for unreasonable/imprudent speeds and expired registration.
- 1:15 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, N. Butler Street. Assisted outside agency with a weapons violation involving a weapon.
- 5:02 am, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union Terrace. Cited person for UW code theft, cited and released without incident.
Daily Blotter for October 5th 2025
- 8:01 am, Theft/Larceny, UWPD. Person reported they left their property on a bench at the Memorial Union and when they returned to retrieve the items lost and found was closed. Will try to obtain items later.
- 11:05 am, Graffiti, Sellery Hall. Checked the 4th floor of Sellery Hall for the writing on the wall.
- 1:44 pm, Other, Lake Mendota. Water Assist - Sloop capsized in the Mooring field, and was tied up with a mooring buoy, LRAS staff was able to free the Sloop from the buoy and towed back to Hoofers safely.
- 3:22 pm, Theft/Larceny, Chadbourne Hall. Contacted person who reported their bicycle was taken from the north side of Chadbourne Hall.
- 5:29 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, N. Park & Spring Streets. Contacted/Cited persons for UAL 1st (Muni) after observing them enter Regent Street Liquor, stopped, verbally warned for possession of false ID and alcohol (ID’s and alcohol confiscated/destroyed).
- 5:48 pm, Fire, Biochemical Sciences Building. Contacted person for a fire in a room in Biochemical Sciences, person was able to put the fire out prior to MFD and UWPD arrival.
- 7:44 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, N. Park & Regent Streets. Observed person exit Regent Street Liquor and provide alcohol to another person waiting outside business. Cited both for UAL 1st (Muni), verbally warned one for false ID (confiscated/destroyed).
- 8:29 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Observatory & Elm Drives. MFR transported person to local hospital after being struck by vehicle on their bike.
- 11:02 pm, Resisting Arrest, W. Dayton & N. Lake Streets. Observed person carry/hide/lie about alcohol outside of the building along with other persons who were carrying red solo cups. All cited for State UAL 1st. Two persons in the group were Verbally Warned for obstructing.
- 12:17 am, Drug Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted room for odor of Marijuana, cited room owners for UAL 1st, verbally warned one for possession of paraphernalia.
- 12:38 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Person reported another person injured in the entrance of their building.
- 12:57 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Dispatch camera observation of subjects needing to be checked on when one was seen needing assistance on floor outside of elevator. All contacted persons cited for State UAL 1st.

- 1:10 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Langdon Street. Assisted outside agency with arresting suspect after they fled from police on foot, outside agency arrested for trespass, resist/obstruction, no charges by UWPD.
- 1:19 am, Disorderly Conduct, W. Gorham & N. Henry Streets. Contacted persons after observing one yelling and shoving one another several times. One of two persons was transported to Dane County Jail on a Probation and Parole hold without incident, another person released.

- 2:26 am, Resisting Arrest, Residence Hall. Subjects ran after contact attempted in the lobby and one found on State St, was cited for UAL 1st.

- 3:54 pm, Graffiti, Humanities Building. Contacted person of graffiti in the NW stairwell between the 3rd and 4th floor.
- 5:08 pm, Battery, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for State Disorderly Conduct, Discharging bodily fluids and lewd-exposure.
- 5:31 pm, Warrant Served, N. Fairchild St. & E. Washington Ave. Located/Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for active City of Madison Police Department PC for Domestic Disorderly Conduct, Domestic Battery, and Physical Abuse to a Child in addition to active UWPD PC for Theft of Movable Property <=$2500, as well as for two active Dane County Warrants and one active Department of Community Corrections Warrant. Suspect also charged with Fleeing/Eluding, Resisting Causing Soft Tissue Injury, Threats to Law Enforcement, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine/Cocaine Base, and Possession of THC after fleeing from Police on a bicycle, being decentralized, and continuing to resist arrest. Drug paraphernalia seized from suspects backpack placed into evidence.
- 5:53 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, W. Dayton & N. Park Streets. Stopped/Cited driver for Muni UAL 1st and verbally warned them for possession of two fake ID’s which they used to purchase alcohol from Regent St Liquor. Citations to be mailed to address.
- 6:43 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, N. Brooks St. & College Ct. Contacted/Cited persons for Muni UAL-1st after observing them carry alcohol out of Regent St Liquor (disposed of on scene), Verbally Warned both for False ID’s (confiscated/destroyed).

- 10:03 pm, Trespassing/After Hours, Camp Randall Stadium. Contacted persons after they entered Gate 3 of Camp Randall Stadium. All parties ran from officers upon contact and will be cited for UAL and Trespassing via mail, Verbally Warned for resisting/obstruction.

Assisted outside agency with Weapons violation on Langdon St, observed four suspects walking on Gilman Street from State Street, attempted to stop, all ran, one detained. One cited for Resisting/Obstruction and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping released out outside agency handling original incident.

Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Verbally Warned/Released to Dane County Jail person for Unauthorized Picnicking or Camping and UW Possession of THC after finding them asleep in a folding chair with their belongings strewn about with an active Probation Violation Warrant, Citation for UW theft Under $100 and PC for Possession of Cocaine/Cocaine Base (2nd+), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Bail Jumping.
- 10:31 pm, Graffiti, Helen C. White. Contacted person for report of graffiti on the Helen C White Hall Floors 4-7 elevator lobby doors.
- 10:46 pm, Other, W. Gilman Streets. Obstruction & UAL - Contacted person for a detox evaluation outside Samba Grill. Detained person as they interfered with the evaluation. Cited person for UAL 1st (MUNI), and cited other person for obstruction and UAL 1st (MUNI).
- 11:29 pm, Drug Violation, W. Gilman Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after observing a possible hand-to-hand drug transaction outside Cheba Hut, when suspect fled after observing Officers and was subsequently detained.
- 12:50 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person after observing them being supported up while walking on the side walk near Residence Hall, Detox eval conducted, intoxicated but not incapacitated. Later in evening MFR transported to local hospital for incapacitation.
