Daily Blotter for March 19th 2025
- 6:24 am, Drug Violation, Lot 46. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspects for warrants, after they were called in by Transportation Services camping in the 6th floor southeast stairwell of the lot.
- 9:11 am, Found Property, UWPD. Uber driver who was not identified turned in dark blue Apple Airpro Max headphones into dispatch.
- 2:01 pm, Information, UWPD. On 02/28/25, person contacted UWPD via UW-Madison Police email account, investigation ongoing.
- 2:57 pm, Harassment, Residence Hall. Interviewed person who reported an Instagram account posted pictures and videos of them without their consent.
- 4:48 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR contacted an unknown person who fell and hit their head, MFR transported to local hospital, no further police assistance needed.
- 10:57 pm, Battery, Memorial Union. While on an unrelated call in the Rathskeller, person approached and reported at approximately 9:15 pm they had been punched in their right jaw by an unknown person walking by the table at which they was seated.

- 9:52 am, Follow-up, Cottage Grove Road. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for UW disorderly conduct and issued UW code citation for bypass security device and union ban letter.
- 12:42 pm, Graffiti, Vilas Hall. Took photos of UW signs (no motor vehicle/mopeds) in the 300blk of E Campus Mall that have been vandalized.
- 2:55 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, UWPD. Assisted Marshall PD with a cell phone examination.
- 10:19 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person, detox eval conducted, MFR transported person to local hospital, person incapacitated due to alcohol and placed into protective custody.

- 9:27 am, Damage to Property, Washburn Observatory. Light pole I56 was discovered by UWPD Security blown over in the wind.
- 11:04 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Residence Hall. Contacted person after they were reported to be stumbling on the 7th floor of Residence Hall, released without incident.
- 12:13 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 4:32 am, Bail Jumping, Lot 83. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect of bail jumping due to violation of campus area ban after being found sleeping in the elevator lobby.

- 9:54 am, Disorderly Conduct, Charter Street Heating Plant. Probable cause exists to arrest person for disorderly conduct after they attempted multiple times to enter the Charter Street plant and CoGen under fraudulent information.
- 1:58 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State Street. Assisted MPD with a weapons offense on Langdon St. at N. Frances St. where weapon was discarded and witness observed suspect drop the knife into a window grate.
- 5:15 pm, Drug Violation, Lowell Center. While completing a check area of Lowell Center, located two marijuana blunts inside a THCA container outside the main doors, positive for marijuana and property disposed of.
- 5:19 pm, Damage to Property, Observatory Drive. Found Street light pole 156, toppled over.
- 7:07 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Century Place. Call out to assist Middleton Fire Department with investigating a structure fire at multi-unit apartment building.
- 12:26 am, Other, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Disorderly Conduct after they provoked a disturbance with hospital staff, making disturbing sexually suggestive comments, and threatening to "shoot up" the Emergency Room.
- 1:53 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted/Cited person for UAL 1st after being found in the bathroom vomiting.
- 2:56 am, Operating While Intoxicated, W. Johnson St. & Wisconsin Ave. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI, operating while suspended, and operating without required lamps lit during hours of darkness (reason for stop).
- 4:11 am, Found Property, Grainger Hall. Tablet found in the building, unable to locate owner – placed in UWPD Property.
- 5:14 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 5:37 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Hospital to red for GSW Patient that was dropped off at local hospital.
Daily Blotter for March 15th 2025
- 10:02 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Vet Med South. Contacted person whose horse trailer hit and damaged at brick pillar in the loading area.
- 10:31 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Union South. Cited person for UW code restricted use of unions and resisting/obstructing after staff called saying they stole items from the Badger Market.
- 1:54 pm, Other, Van Hise. Demonstration/Protest - Officers responded to Van Hise Hall for a gathering of approximately 30 AFT members on the first floor, both inside and outside the building.
- 2:17 pm, Alarm, Location Redacted. Contacted person, who advised no issues found.
- 2:23 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Lakeshore Path. Arrested/Cited/Released person for UW code disorderly conduct after they exposed themselves at Willow Beach.
- 3:56 pm, Drug Violation, UWPD. Three white, chalky, talc-like rocks (suspect crack cocaine) weighing 2 grams found between the passenger side tinted window and window cage of squad. Entered into evidence, no suspects at this time.
- 2:51 am, Eluding, W. Johnson & N. Brooks Streets. Attempted to stop a dirt bike and a motorcycle when they took off at high rate of speed and pulling wheelies, no pursuit.
- 11:35 pm, Other, Monroe Streets. Request for Assistance - Transported person to local hospital for voluntary detoxification.
- 12:38 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Chadbourne Hall. While outside of Chabourne Hall an Uber driver dropped off intoxicated persons one needing medical assistance and further identification by an outside agency.

- 5:20 am, Other, N. Park Street. Suspicious Person - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping x2 as person shall not be within the University of Wisconsin-Madison ban area.
- 8:47 am, Lost Property, Henry Mall. Person called to say their office is missing two items they think were delivered, but they were unable to find them days later when checking the loading dock.
- 9:27 am, Alarm, Location Redacted. Responded to an alarm and was able to make contact with person, all clear.
- 1:26 pm, Check Person, Local Hospital. Spoke with person who had made threats of bringing a weapon into a local hospital, confirmed person did not have intentions to bring weapon or harming staff.
- 4:39 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 11:17 pm, Harassment, Bakke Recreation Center. Contacted persons who reported a vehicle that passed them as they were walking made derogatory and racially motivated sounds as they were leaving the Bakke.
- 1:22 am, Drug Violation, W. Gilman Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect after foot pursuit person for possession of cocaine w/ intent to deliver, Misdemeanor bail jumping and resisting.
- 2:01 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Lowell Center. Contacted persons who were found sleeping in the vestibule of the Lowell Center, both incapacitated by alcohol, transported to detox and cited for UAL.
Daily Blotter for March 13th 2025
- 5:59 am, Bail Jumping, Lot 7. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misd. Bail Jumping after they were found sleeping on the bottom floor of Lot 7, has bail conditions to not be on UW Lands.
- 6:14 am, Other, Location Redacted. Investigation - Bike/scooter recovery operation w/MPD.
- 8:13 am, Found Property, Bellflower Lane/UWPD. Zebra brand phone found by Uber driver, while cleaning their car, turned into UWPD.
- 9:20 am, Found Property, Lot 34. Cell Phone found on Lot 34 stairs, unable to contact owner and placed into safekeeping.
- 9:29 am, Theft/Larceny, Smith Hall. Contacted person who reported theft of their e-bike from the racks on the east side of Smith Hall.
- 12:19 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 40. Contacted person who advised their unoccupied state delivery vehicle was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
- 12:49 pm, Theft/Larceny, University Houses. Contacted by telephone person who reported a package showed up at their door that had been opened and with items missing.
- 2:03 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Attempted phone and email contact with person without response, item placed into safekeeping to be picked up during business hours.
- 4:45 pm, Found Property, Kohl Center. Attempted to locate owner of found black phone, placed into safekeeping.
- 10:19 pm, Theft/Larceny, Nicholas Recreation Center. Contacted person who had their badminton racket taken from the 3rd floor of the Nic. Cameras reviewed, suspects identified, contacted and both verbally warned for theft as the racket was returned to owner.
- 11:37 pm, Other, Erin & S. Park Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned/Released to responsible driver person for Improper Display of Registration (No License Plate), Operate Motor Vehicle Without Valid License, and County Possession of THC.
Daily Blotter for March 12th 2025
- 9:25 am, Found Property, Safety Building. Located what appeared to be an abandoned bike on 03/10/25, bike to be tagged for removal.
- 9:34 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Lot 44. Verbally Warned person for camping on UW property, educated to remove personal property and left on foot.
- 10:43 am, Information, Vet Med North. Contacted person regarding continued phone calls to the UW Vet Clinic front desk from person whose pet died while receiving treatment at clinic in 2024. Person contacted and advised to no longer contact Vet Med.
- 10:55 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they injured their ankle, MFR transported person and friend to local hospital.
- 12:30 pm, Check Person, Local Hospital. Person was called in as missing after checking out of hospital and located in the Emergency Room lobby waiting for a ride home.
- 12:42 pm, Other, Bascom Hall. Protest/Demonstration - A group of approximately 100-120 Pro-Palestinian protesters gathered on Library Mall, marched to Bascom, and gathered on the east side of Bascom Hall. The group chanted, waved flags and held signs. They cleared without significant incident.
- 1:05 pm, Check Person, Field House. Contacted person for yelling at traffic, and verbally warned for UW possession of marijuana.
- 2:35 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Responded to location and MFR had already transported person to local hospital.
- 3:02 pm, Domestic, Location Redacted. Hospital staff called and reported a verbal disagreement in the ER between persons, contact made and persons left without incident.
- 5:11 pm, Theft/Larceny, CSC Visitor Lot. Attempted call to person reporting theft with no answer, provided call back number.
- 9:39 pm, Other, Van Hise Hall. Trades Request Assistance - Responded to Van Hise for a pipe water leak in room 170C. Water mostly contained with water drains. No damage. Building manager notified.
- 11:19 pm, Other, Wingra Springs Lot. Closing Hours Violation - Verbally Warned persons for closing hours in the spring lot, neither had valid DL, left vehicle and released without incident.
- 12:07 am, Other, McKay Center Lot. Suspicious Vehicle - Contacted and verbally warned persons for Closing Hours and Possession of Marijuana.
- 1:10 am, Check Person, Engineering Hall. Contacted person after custodial staff reported them being in the building after hours and escorted out of building.
- 1:28 am, Other, Grady Tract Lot. Check Area - Fitchburg PD found the gate to the arboretum in the Grady lot was unlocked and open with a stick propping it. Checked area with drone, nothing found inside, gate secured.
- 1:44 am, Other, W. Gorham & N. Carroll Streets. Verbally warned person for red light violation and possession of marijuana, confiscated and disposed of.
Daily Blotter for March 11th 2025
- 8:58 am, Theft/Larceny, Memorial Union. Person came to the PD to report their iPhone had been stolen from the 3rd floor of Memorial Union.
- 1:13 pm, Theft/Larceny, HSLC. Contacted by telephone person who reported their black Beats Solo 3 headphones were taken from their locked office.
- 2:29 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Person was taken into protective custody during mental health crisis.
- 3:17 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Report number pulled in error.
- 3:34 pm, Theft/Larceny, Ogg Hall. Person was observed on Milestone video taking a bicycle from a bike rack outside of Ogg Hall during the evening hours of 03/01/2025.
- 5:07 pm, Extortion, Location Redacted. Contacted person who advised they had sent explicit photos to an unknown individual on Snap Chat, and was threatened to release a video of the photos if they did not send money.
- 7:24 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 9:39 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital. While on post in local emergency room, hospital security officer asked for assistance to press charges towards a patient of disorderly conduct.
- 9:40 pm, Check Person, Memorial Union. Contacted/Verbally Warned for disorderly conduct person for smoking on UW lands after causing a disturbance with building staff after a staff member moved their bike from a prohibited area to a bike rack.
- 12:35 am, Criminal Damage, Animal Science. Contacted person who reported two paper towel dispensers damaged in the 2nd floor men's bathroom.

- 4:52 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted MPD with drone deployment on individual who had threaten to shoot a neighbors' dog. Maintained visual on subject until they were taken into custody by MPD.
- 8:32 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to local hospital for a broken/dislocated fifth digit on left hand sustained playing basketball.
- 4:48 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Transported person to local hospital for medical emergency.
