Daily Blotter for November 18th 2024
- 3:00 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Same call on 11/17/24 briefing sheet and reported under 11/17/24 blotter.
- 12:17 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Contacted person and returned their wallet.
- 3:25 pm, Damage to Property, Waisman Center. Contacted persons who found a running sink that overflowed into the hallways in the area of Elevators 1&2 causing damage, building manager notified.
- 4:24 pm, Theft/Larceny, LaBahn Arena. Contacted person for theft of scooter.
- 11:17 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person at local hospital after staff asked for a detox evaluation.
- 1:40 am, Disorderly Conduct, Local Hospital. Contacted hospital staff after person was trying to leave and caused a disturbance resulting in the issuance of a disorderly conduct citation to the person and placed into their property.

- 5:50 am, Bail Jumping, State & N. Frances Streets. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping after they were observed violating the conditions of their release on three separate occasions.
- 11:40 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 3:49 pm, Found Property, UWPD. Money found blowing around in the wind outside of UWPD by security. Placed into property safekeeping at UWPD.
- 4:19 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lake Mendota Drive. Assisted SHPD with taking subject into custody who fled from SHPD after making threats with a knife.
- 6:49 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person after persons called expressing concern their friend was intoxicated and had hurt themselves.
- 8:28 pm, Found Property, Memorial Union. Someone located a purse by the Memorial Union on Langdon St. Placed into property safekeeping at UWPD.
- 9:47 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Cited person after they were found by housefellows unconscious due to alcohol.
- 12:47 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Location Redacted. Contacted/Cited person for UAL 1st.
- 1:48 am, Eluding, N. Lake & Langdon Streets. Attempted to stop vehicle for a red-light violation. Vehicle made no attempt to stop, accelerated and eluded our lawful attempt.
- 3:00 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, person was incapacitated by alcohol and unable to provide additional information.

- 7:41 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted persons whose vehicles crashed near the level 2 elevators.
- 11:25 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 12:58 pm, Theft/Larceny, Union South. Contacted person who reported their Chinese Ipad was stolen from their backpack.
- 3:13 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted agency locating person experiencing mental health crisis. Person located no further assistance needed.
- 5:47 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Lake Street. Assisted MPD with a disturbance/weapons violation regarding person threatening and chasing people with scissors. MPD Located, arrested/transported to Dane County Jail without incident, no further assistance needed.
- 10:22 pm, Operating While Intoxicated, University Ave & N. Brooks Street. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for OWI first, Possession of cocaine, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of open intox (driver), resisting or obstructing an officer, operation of motor vehicle without required lamps lighted. Vehicle relocated with permission of driver.
- 12:06 am, Other, Bascom Hall Roof. Alarm Notification - Contacted/Cited/Released persons for Unauthorized access to roofs, service tunnels.
- 12:37 am, Drug Violation, Residence Hall. Contacted person after Housefellows reported the smell of marijuana coming from the area of persons dorm room. Person cited UWS possession of marijuana.

- 10:15 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 10:51 am, Information, Engineering Hall. Contacted person after they reported another person who reportedly stated they had a weapon, however after further discussion with both parties there was a language barrier that caused confusion.
- 11:21 am, Graffiti, UW Foundation Building. Graffiti located on retaining wall north of 1848 University Av facing Campus Dr.
- 12:10 pm, Drug Violation, Lot 75. Drugs found in small plastic bundle found on the floor of Lot 75.
- 5:53 pm, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 75. Contacted person regarding a hit and run to their vehicle that occurred on the second floor of Lot 75.
- 8:52 pm, Information, UWPD. Photographed, packaged and labeled items for safekeeping.
- 9:57 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 10:04 pm, Battery, Location Redacted. Contacted person after they had a liquid thrown on them and pushed into the cupboard and punched in the face by a patient at a local hospital.
- 10:22 pm, Resisting Arrest, N. Sherman Ave. Cited person for Dane County code Resisting & Obstruction after initial traffic stop for a suspended license. Verbally warned for suspended license and eventually cited for resisting/obstruction after being very uncooperative and refused to exit the vehicle for an extended period of time.
- 10:36 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person whose friend is experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 11:28 pm, Other, Milwaukee Street. Traffic Stop - Verbally warned person for unauthorized display of registration and Operating Without Valid Driver’s License.
- 11:50 pm, Damage to Property, Residence Hall. Contacted persons for information on other persons who caused extensive property damage in residence hall. Persons who caused the vandalism are out of state persons visiting for the weekend – contact to be made during the weekend.
- 1:54 am, Drug Violation, Packers Ave. & Melrose St. Traffic stop for no posted front registration. Vehicle search conducted due to open intoxicants in plain view. Seized 4 grams of marijuana and 45 pills of MDMA. Arrested/transported to Dane County Jail without incident for felony possession of MDMA and misdemeanor possession of THC.

- 7:42 am, Damage to Property, Union South. Contacted person who reported damage to the loading dock door.
- 11:47 am, Information, McBurney Resource Center. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.
- 1:52 pm, Warrant Served, Lake Mendota & University Bay Drive. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for warrant after their campsite was found in the Marsh while drone training.
- 9:49 pm, Theft/Larceny, HC White. Contacted person by phone for theft of their bike.

- 6:41 am, Graffiti, Lot 7. Numerous graffiti tags in a variety of media. Bottom of P3 east stairwell.
- 6:55 am, Other, Arboretum. Animal struck by vehicle; Arboretum staff contacted about removal of animal.
- 1:37 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing a mental health crisis.
- 3:34 pm, Information, Chemistry Building. Person advised their bike was stolen from the north side of Chemistry bike rack. Person called back advising they had located bike in another location they had parked it in.
- 4:47 pm, Sensitive Crime, Location Redacted. Contacted person reporting a sensitive crime.
- 7:48 pm, Criminal Damage, Lot 75. Contacted person regarding someone accidentally striking the exit gate.
- 10:00 pm, Warrant Served, Humanities Building. Contacted/Verbally Warned persons for camping after finding them asleep in a sleeping bag. One person arrested and transported to Dane County Jail for Parole Violation Warrant (Armed Robbery with Use of Force) from WI Community Corrections, additionally Verbally Warned for UW Code Possession of Marijuana. Other person released without incident.
- 1:51 am, Found Property, UWPD. Found property returned to one person, other found property tagged and logged for safekeeping.

- 9:00 am, Criminal Damage, Alumni Park. Person reported damaged custom, 3D printed, resin, "light bulb" sculpture.
- 9:17 am, Information, Educational Sciences Building. Contacted person who reported someone was in the Educational Psychology Department over the weekend in conference/break rooms and ate snacks that were left out for staff leaving crumbs and area messy.
- 9:34 am, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing medical emergency and MFR transported to local hospital.
- 11:34 am, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 12:51 pm, Harassment, Location Redacted. Contacted person who came to UWPD as directed by HR to report harassment/stalking to MPD on Friday 11/8 by coworker.
- 2:15 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. MFR transported patient to local hospital, no police assistance needed.
- 3:00 pm, Battery, Location Redacted. Contacted person who reported that another person spit beer on them.
- 5:21 pm, Information, McBurney Resource Center. Received a mandatory report from the Office of Admission.
- 9:10 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Carver Street. Responded to the arboretum for a report of three shots fired in the Martin St/Carver St area along with MPD.
- 9:56 pm, Fraud, Residence Hall. Person reported they agreed to sell their basketball ticket but was not initially sent the full amount for the ticket. Once contacted by police the person receiving the ticket sent the full amount for the ticket to said person selling the ticket.
- 10:01 pm, Disorderly Conduct, UWPD. Contacted person who reported a vehicle possibly threw something at them while walking near Animal Science.
- 10:50 pm, Eluding, Johnson & Pinckney Streets. Attempted to stop vehicle after a DOT check on the vehicle showed the Registered Owner had a suspended Driver’s License. Vehicle located by Sun Prairie PD at Registered Owners address as occupants fled on foot upon contact.
- 1:45 am, Drug Violation, Chestnut & Kendall Ave. Verbally Warned person for imprudent speed and possession of marijuana.
Daily Blotter for November 11th 2024
- 8:48 am, Warrant Served, UWPD. Arrested person who came into UWPD lobby for property but had an active body only warrant. Booked into Dane County Jail without incident.
- 3:08 pm, Other, Lot 37. Traffic Stop - Stopped/detained/cited/released person for operating while suspended. Vehicle driven away by passenger with valid driver’s license.
- 3:22 pm, Information, UWPD. Contacted person who requested an officer to stand by in January 2025 when they return to campus and inform another person they do not want any contact with said person upon return to campus at a later time.
- 3:58 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, Location Redacted. Contacted person after another person reported they were vomiting and unresponsive to their surroundings after consuming 100mg of THC in a drink at a local bar. Person transported to local hospital by MFR.
- 4:37 pm, Theft/Larceny, Residence Hall. Contacted person who had their MacBook Air stolen sometime on 11/8-11/9.
- 2:14 am, Resisting Arrest, Extension Building. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for resisting while being placed into protective custody for detox evaluation.
Daily Blotter for November 10th 2024
- 11:56 am, Other, Local Hospital. Request For Assistance - Contacted person who is looking for an at-risk person from out of town. Person not located.
- 3:40 pm, Disorderly Conduct, Lot 63. Contacted person due to another person becoming violent while they were driving.
- 6:25 pm, Medical/Alcohol/Detox Conveyance, East Campus Mall. Contacted person who was found on East Campus Mall near Walgreens and reported to be PNB, but was not PNB but incapacitated due to alcohol consumption. Transported to local hospital and placed into protective custody.
- 7:49 pm, Underage Alcohol Violation, Kohl Center. Contacted/Ejected/Cited person for UAL 1st after locating them vomiting in a restroom.
- 10:34 pm, Check Person, Humanities Building. Observed person having difficulty running and appeared lost. Initial detox evaluation resulted in intoxicated not incapacitated, transported to local hotel and released.
- 1:07 am, Other, Johnson & Orchard. Stopped person for failure to obey red light, for failure to install IID and operating while revoked. Verbally warned for red light violation. Vehicle released to valid driver.

- 10:17 pm, Follow-up, Vilas hall. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Misdemeanor Bail Jumping x2. for Selling, Peddling, and Soliciting Prohibited.
- 12:18 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, Residence Hall. Cited person for UAL 1st. after Housefellows located them in the bathroom vomiting.
- 12:26 am, Trespassing/After Hours, Bascom Hall. Contacted/cited 7 University of Illinois students for UW statutes unauthorized presence, conduct that endangers safety, and aiding/abetting. Another person cited for UAL 1st.
- 2:07 am, Underage Alcohol Violation, W. Dayton & N. Brooks Streets. Stopped/Verbally Warned person Theft after observing them carrying away a City of Madison street sign and cited for UAL 1st (City Ordinance) after admitting to consuming alcoholic beverages.
