- 9:16 am, Theft/Larceny, Eagle Heights. Person reported 2 camping chairs and a small kid’s slide for a kid’s pool had been stolen overnight from outside their home.
- 11:49 am, Other, UWPD. Request For Assistance - Assisted person with documentation for their lost passport.
- 9:16 pm, Check Person, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
Daily Blotter for June 1st 2025
- 4:55 pm, Other, Sterling Hall. UW Code - Responded to Sterling Hall after UW Security spotted person entering a steam tunnel hatch on the west side of the building.
- 7:31 pm, Other, Local Hospital. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party after person was brought to local Emergency Room and patient was refusing to follow staff orders and being asked to leave, transported to another location without incident.
- 11:07 pm, Other, Randall Ave & Engineering Drive. Traffic Stop/Obstruction - Stopped/Verbally Warned driver for disregarding a traffic sign and operating a motor vehicle on a sidewalk. During contact, passenger, was removed from the vehicle by utilizing VET after they were observed yelling at driver and officers, refusing to comply with lawful orders, and exhibiting disorderly behavior, released on Dane County Cite for Resisting.
- 1:30 am, Other, Johnson St. & Marion Ct. Traffic Stop/Obstruction - Contacted persons after they were seen running to their apartment with a stolen Tito's Vodka umbrella from the nearby bars. After activating lights and siren, person who was in possession of the umbrella, dropped it and fled on foot into the apartment building. Person returned to where friends were and was verbally warned for theft and resisting/obstructing.

- 10:57 am, Graffiti, East Campus Pedestrian Tunnel. Responded to the ECM Pedestrian Tunnel for reports of graffiti on the east wall, near the north entrance of the tunnel.
- 11:04 am, Other, Dane County Airport. K9 Deployment - K9 sweep for Badger Honor Flight.
- 11:08 am, Disorderly Conduct, Helen C. White Library. Person reported being disturbed by another person’s actions and working on library ban. Person will be cited for UW Disorderly Conduct with building ban.
- 12:43 pm, Check Person, N. Randall Ave. & W. Dayton Street. Cited person for UW Disorderly Conduct after another person was disturbed by their actions towards them.
- 1:53 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Local Hospital. Checked the area for person, made contact and left area without incident.
- 5:15 pm, Check Person, Local Hospital. Contacted person at location to facilitate legal blood draw for Grant County Sheriff's Office via Search Warrant. The kit was properly sealed and secured in property.
- 5:28 pm, Check Person, Bascom Hall. While checking ephone at 500 Lincoln Dr. person approached officer with information regarding an abandoned lunchbox and missing person near the Lincoln Station in front of Bascom Hall. Found abandoned lunchbox, but no evidence of missing person.
- 6:30 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person experiencing mental health crisis.
- 9:51 pm, Drug Violation, Braxton Place. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Possession of Cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of THC, Felony Bail jumping, OWI 1st, possession of open intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle and operating without required lamps lit.
- 1:06 am, Operating While Intoxicated, N. Franklin Ave. & Shepard Terrace. Stopped/Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party for speeding 50/35, OWI/PAC 1st, vehicle left on Franklin and Shepard.

- 2:28 pm, Check Person, Highland Ave. Contacted person after they were found sitting on the ground in front of the WIMR building, inside the bus shelter needing transportation to The Beacon.
- 4:02 pm, Mental Health Welfare Check, Location Redacted. Contacted person who expressed concerns regarding another person experiencing a mental health crisis.

- 10:18 am, Motor Vehicle Accident, Lot 124. Cited person for hit and run unattended vehicle in Lot 124.
- 8:34 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted MPD with a foot pursuit of a suspect involved in a recent sensitive crime.
- 10:25 pm, Other, Lake Mendota & University Bay Drive. Traffic Stop - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Released to Responsible Party driver for Operating While Suspended, after they were stopped for defective brake light. Vehicle was legally parked in a nearby parking lot. Driver was also verbally warned for the defective brake light and expired registration.

- 8:56 am, Found Property, Enzyme Institue. Person had their wallet turned in at the UWPD. Packaged into safekeeping while we attempted to locate owner.
- 1:48 am, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, State & Gilman Streets. Located person and assisted Wisconsin State Capital Police with taking them into custody after they previously fled from police.

- 4:50 am, Other, Library Mall. UW Code Violation - Contacted/Cited person for UW Code Picnicking and Camping after observing them asleep in a hammock.
- 9:58 am, Other, Local Hospital. Hospital in Red Status, MPD is primary investigating agency.
- 12:59 pm, Information, UWPD. Legally sold, former UWPD property turned up in KY.
- 8:57 pm, Assist Law Enforcement Agency, Location Redacted. Assisted MPD with hospital security regarding earlier case.
- 12:41 am, Drug Violation, McKay Center Lot. Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for Criminal OAR, Failure to install IID, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping X2, and possession of methamphetamine.

- 1:21 am, Other, Park & State Streets. Traffic Stop - Stopped/Verbally Warned for Operating Motor Vehicle Left of Center Line. Passenger cited for Possess Open Intoxicants in motor vehicle.
- 2:18 am, Drug Violation, Pyle Center. Contacted persons after observing open intoxicants in plain view within vehicle.
- 3:23 am, Check Person, Pyle Center. Contacted persons after observing drug paraphernalia (glass pipe used to aid in the ingestion of marijuana) and container of THC in plain view. Persons verbally warned for County Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- 4:32 am, Other, Education Building. Education Building - Disabled abandoned vehicle blocking westbound lane of traffic removed by Schmidt's Towing.

- 1:21 pm, Check Person, N. Park & Langdon Streets. Passerby flagged officers down, concerned for a person who was shouting.
- 2:54 pm, Follow-up, Chamberlin Hall. Electrical experiment malfunctioned.
- 5:38 pm, Other, W. Johnson St. & East Campus Mall. Weapons Violation - Contacted/Cited/Arrested/Transported/Released to Dane County Jail suspect for DC while armed and resisting after receiving several 911 calls regarding a person carrying a large knife on East Campus Mall.
- 5:52 pm, Found Property, 1429 Monroe Street. Received found property, packaged and submitted into locker for safekeeping.
