Two police officers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department were recognized by the Green Bay Packers for their exemplary work above and beyond the call of duty.
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, UWPD Officers Devan Arbay and Connor Cunningham each received a Green Bay Packers Protect & Serve Award. The prestigious awards are presented to police officers who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and a commitment to bettering their communities.
The two officers were each nominated by a UWPD sergeant, who noted several significant cases that made them worthy of these awards. But equally as important, she noted their humility, kindness, and compassion.
“Officers Devan Arbay and Connor Cunningham are stellar performers here at UWPD and are part of an amazing team that collaborates with stakeholders and the community in protecting the UW-Madison campus,” Chief Brent Plisch said. “I’m thankful they are being recognized at this level for their work in our community.”
Arbay and Cunningham’s awards were among 14 total awards presented to officers and departments from across Wisconsin.
The Packers Protect & Serve Award is funded by the Packers and the NFL Foundation, with each award recipient receiving a $2,000 grant to benefit their department or a nonprofit with which they are involved.
Congratulations, Officers Arbay and Cunningham – thank you for your outstanding service and dedication to the University of Wisconsin-Madison community!
